  • This was the last session before Race 2 at Pocono Raceway 5/2/2021 with Motogladiator and EvolveGT. I get a little excited in the helmet before a race so 👍

You're idea of a "bad line again" is happening for a few reasons. First of which, it's a good line. You only need to defend if there's someone there to defend against. In general, the fastest line wins. If someone comes up inside you there, that turn is shallow enough that you'll pass them on the exit by only minorly altering your line. What you really need to do is get to full throttle sooner. That alone will alter your line exiting the previous corner.
And what's limiting that is that you're in the wrong gear, 1 gear maybe 2 too low. Your bike produces max torque at approx 11k rpm and max hp at approx 15.5k rpm. You want to really keep the bike in that range. Only going out of it for specific purposes. To do that you need to learn throttle blip downshifting.
Brake on, clutch in, roll on and off the throttle real quick 2k rpm, downshift, release the clutch. Repeat
That will match the rear wheel speed to engine speed and you won't get wheel hop when you downshift. When you blip the throttle, let your fingers slide over the front brake so as not to change the brake pressure and cause the front end to pogo.
Oh yeah, you need a lot of reference points too. "Full throttle to here. Brakes on here (depending on speed), turn HERE. Apex (hit the f'ing curbing) HERE! Exit HERE! Go to next point... etc, etc." You're base skill and thoughts are there. Now it's actually making distinct decisions for each turn and making them happen.

You´d get seconds off your time if you were tighter on the apexes and alot better drive out of corners.

Yep! First time at this track, on a 190 rear and on a SC1 rear instead of SC2, with so many new factors I was always leaving room for error. Plus, I make errors learning the track! Cheers mate!
