I've always been a keyboard lover in Excel. But some events just forced me to use the mouse 🖱 especially when selecting range for Data Validation or Pivot Table. This video simply frees me even further of having to switch to mouse and helps keep my hands on the keyboard! How on earth didn't I ever try to press this F2 key twice (or more) despite this being the first shortcut I was taught editing a cell when I learnt to use Lotus 123 many years ago (!?!). Thanks heaps, Leila!

Leila! your teaching is unique , simple and focused. This is excellent trick. I could'n't understand as to why this is happening and it seemed painfully embarrassing. As I don't have institutional training in excel and learned by doing work and watching some wonderful videos. I learned this behavior of Excel over several years and now, when I'm teaching students, I include this skill early when we start Excel. Students get so frustrated when they open a dialog box and try to modify a formula. When they ask me for help, my first question is "what mode are you in?" Your tutorial on this is very well done (as I've come to expect from you) and I'll start having my students watch it to help them learn Excel. Thanks, Leila.

I have been using Excel since the 90ies (no, I'm still not a pro, I'm talking basic levels here, as I never really needed advanced excel knowledge until my current job), but still: I've never seen that, heard of it or even realized it was there. I just accepted my fate and that sometimes Excel does not behave the way I expect or want it to. Well, FML! 😄Thank you for this one. I didn't specifically look for it, but it helped me TREMENDOULSY!
And while I'm already here word vomiting all over your comment section: Thank you for ALL the videos you've made - and the ones still coming. I'm far from being a real advanced user (meaning: actually KNOWING instead of googeling my shit until I have the expected outcome [VBAing out weekly and monthly reports via e-mail cuz I'm too lazy to do it manually]), but with the help of people like you I'm getting better everyday. So please keep up the work. 💐😁👍🏻

This is so useful to know! It was only yesterday when I was writing a really long formula in the conditional formatting dialog box, and annoyingly I could not get the text cursor to go to the very end. And with no way of resizing the box (that _needs_ changing), I ended up copying and pasting the formula into the worksheet - working on it that way - and then copying and pasting it back in. Your advice will certainly solve many headaches!
