A minor point but on the Service Menu I noticed Battery missing the 'y' and appearing as Batter. Just wondering, is attention to detail in the software and interface up to a high standard?

I have a Peugoet 3008 (2013, 1.6 hdi DV6CTED4 engine) and recently fitted a new clutch while the gear box need openting and refitting. Just wondering this CR MAX can do clutch initialization and Gear re-learn process? I will appriciate if yoiu can check and let me know. thanks.
Did you know if this tool works with Jaguar x-Type and Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ? I need to scan and check both of our 2 X-Types because we have some issues that may be software or sensor related.

I have a 2012 Vauxhall Astra Gtc 2:0 cdti. I’m getting the ( SVS ) service vehicle soon message. Not an ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHT and doing a bit of research it looks like it could be a glow plugs issue. Will this cr max model diagnose what cylinders are at fault as my glow plugs have the pressure sensors & around £100 each 😱

hi, so you can't reset the electric handbrake with this? after changing the brake pads?
Looks promising BUT can it really do a Battery Registration (BMS) or any other Service Function to the full extent? I ask because something like a Foxwell NT510 Elite claims to do a Battery Registration as long as the new battery being installed has the same Capacity Ah and battery type as the one that is being replaced. One cannot enter a different Capacity (Ah) or battery type (AGM or standard lead aciid). That hardly makes it a scanner with BMS ability.

I got it and i have a question. DPF regen counted down to 0 and left 13 g and then nothing happend. I was waiting for the message "regen finish", but no.
I pressed exit and got the message "aborted". Is there a message when it's done?

In your comparsion to the Cr PRO i saw Bentley and Bugatti as included Manufacturers. Were they included later? Has the CR Pro new Manufacturers included too?
Do you recommend the Pro ? Is there a major difference with the Max or not worth the 150 EUr price difference ?

But now i bought a Peugeot 308sw 2010 model, and i can't see that it supports it🤷

Does it code Saab keys?
Just recently bought my CR Max, very happy with it so far, have tried it on a Jaguar and on a BMW, worked like a charm. I just kind of wish it would also allow options coding as well, like the Carly app, where you can fiddle around with the car options, ie. changing welcome screens, setting functions on your LCM to enable walk-home lights and other nifty stuff like that.
For a diagnostic tool of this caliber and price bracket, one would expect it to be able to do that. Hopefully this will be added down the line via updates.
Will it do key programing or is the xtool x100 pro 3 better choice?
@@shaunnel7478 It does get constant updates, within those they recently released some coding features for a select few (more to come) makes. I haven't specifically checked if it can code keys though. It may be possible.

Two big selling points for me. One is that I get free updates for life. And the second is that the update process is directly from the web to the scan tool. I dont have to introduce Chinese software into my computer, then transfer it to the scan tool.
Every quality scan tool update via WiFi now. If a scan tool doesn’t update via WiFi now then I wouldn’t consider buying it.

According to the manufacturer, the CR Max supports all petrol cars from 2001 and up, and all diesel cars from 2004 and up. Since it runs on EOBD II, which was present on some older cars as well, it might actually read some stuff off of said older cars as well, but no guarantees.
@@SideKickStudios I’ve used a number of scanners, as of late, and if they don’t say it will then it definitely won’t.
@@iamher6422 For CR Max, the homepage says it supports most of the OBDII/EOBD test modes including CAN, ISO9141, KWP2000, J1850 VPW and J1850 PWM, in other words, it can technically run tests on older cars as well. The issue there is that older cars don't always run the standard OBD II plug so unless you have an adapter or the MS906 kit with all the adapters, you're kind of stuck with the main supported vehicles only, which, in all fairness, is still a lot.
I just received a CR V3.0. It is a multi brand but limited to 3 unless pay more. Very hard to find info on this unit. I thought it was the CR Pro as said professional but seems not. It is touch screen and has its own battery. Seem all your videos don't correspond to this unit. I bought it from Australia and I am in NZ so no take it back and ask. Any info on this one? Cheers

Hi, a quick question. Does this have multiple graph option? My CR Pro is capable of showing only 1 graph at a time, while some other tools are able to show 2, some of them even 3. Can this tool show at least 2 graphs in the same time? Thanks
I was going to ask the same thing. Can it graph STFT and LTFT at the same time? I don't think the Scan Tool Network guy knows much about servicing.

The cr max says it will do all cars , but the truth is , when it comes to the servicing side of things only about four cars at covered , honda cars are in the list , but absolutely no service features will work with the honda .
Will this unit be able to disable the automatic start/stop feature in an F150??

The CR MAX will not do the ABS bleed operation on GM trucks from 1999 to 2006. I know I should have done more research, but I wasted my money on a icarsoft system. Huge mistake and still have 3 trucks I need to abs bleed. Operations on some of the newer vehicles i service seem to be ok.
Thats very disappointing considering there are so many GM trucks on the road. My much cheaper Foxwell will do the ABS bleed. At least it did on a 2003 Silverado, and recently a 2010 Ford Escape. Now I am back to comparisons again. iCarsoft may add a software update to include GM trucks if enough people complain.

i purchased a 800BT and sent it back, it didn't update all software, didn't communicate with a 2012 Smax dpf regen, 2007 passat service light reset, BMW mini service light reset. dissapointed was an understatement.
I have the Artidiag 800BT and it works flawlessly

This tool failed to undertake the EPB retraction on two cars, a 2017 X1 and a 2016 Evoque , kept saying ‘unsuccessful’, have returned it and will buy a different product!

Can this tool code a airbag module?
With this tool you can not see the real kilometers on the vehicle. Example I know mine real km are 270,000 but on the odometer says 170,000 and this tool also shows 170,000
How do you install apps and games? I have this tool and from what I can see it doesn't support any Google play services so you can't install apps or games?
I have found the same issue. No google play store and when I tried to install that it indicated that Google Play did not support this device. I was able to install from Amazon app store though.
@@craigs4608 I've since contacted icarsoft. They said that although the device is android based, no third party apps or games should be installed and will void the warranty. Really disappointing as there's a few apps that I'd love to install but are paid apps only available though Google play services. Still a good tool for the price
That's interesting. Icarsoft's leading distributor and retailer clearly indicated in the presentation that adding apps is a feature of this product and is actually one of the reasons I purchased this model. I think play store was mentioned here too. Like yourself I have a couple of paid and free apps I wished to add so as to bring most of my diagnostic kit together. I haven't fully looked to see if it reads pdf files. Using the provided google link it seems to bomb out when trying to bring up pdf workshop manuals online. Have you had success here at all?
It also only appears to only have 1GB of Ram & 16GB of memory. In my opinion this is quite poor in this day and age where memory is actually quite cheap. I do understand that obviously the architecture meets the needs of the basic diagnostic function of this device but once you add browsing etc you need to provide for reasonable storage options as well. I would have liked to add the full workshop pdf manuals of all the vehicles my family and I own. I am not a mechanic but I am one of the first points of call for when friends and family are having issues with their cars out of warranty.
I have purchased this as an upgrade from the pro.
@@craigs4608 The possibility of adding apps from Google play was one of the main reasons I purchased this particular tool , so it's very disappointing to learn that icarsoft don't want third party apps installed. I think this should be addressed as the presentation is misleading in this regard. As for PDF files, I haven't tried that yet as I don't have the tool long. I have a separate tablet with apps, repair data, wiring diagram, etc and I was hoping that I could basically combine everything using the CR MAX, but after speaking with icarsoft, I don't think it's worth the risk so I'm just going to keep using the tablet separately. Just annoying because the tool has so much more potential if it wound support Google play
I don't think there is enough spare horsepower left under the hood to be able to satisfactorily run other apps.
I installed obdlink from Amazon but it won't run. I tried forscanlite which appears to run but won't connect through bluetooth. Mx+ adapter will pair with Bluetooth on tablet but won't connect to forscan app. So it looks like I'll have to continue using these other apps off my phone.

@@leeryan8424 aye it’s done a regen it’s self when soot level hit 100% took it a run on motorway at 55% drove it for miles and miles at 2500 rpm nothing happened till it hit the 100 dpf temp went up from 200 degrees to 600 for the regen could see it happening in live data
I’d previously had problems after software update for the emissions got the engine light on had to take it to friends garage he has the Mercedes star computer he got light off and had to reset the values on dpf but the car won’t regen till it’s 100% full no matter how you drive it
It is a big disappointment. I tried to do a DPF regeneration on a Ford S-max 2010. Guess what? It did not work! Tried programming new tire pressure sensors on a 2016 Mercedes Vito! Guess what? It did not work! In the descriptions it says it does a lot of things, but apart from reading error codes and clearing them, it doesn't do anything else!
I bought this to run on Nissan Navaras. Very disappointed.

Doing an actual diagnostic on the BMW your in would have been more useful. I watched the Topdon done using a random car and it looked good. But another review that used the car he was in it crashed. So your review is not sufficient for a decision

Used it today. Trash…. performs those services on 1-3 vehicles in most instances. I needed every bit of information for a Volvo. Why do I need the engine code? Body code? I thought it had an auto function? I Upgraded the tool before use. Waste of time and money.
