So nice to see you posting. I like this build. A synthesis of miniature painting and scale modeling techniques is what i use too. I've drybrushed a cockpit for that same effect, then picked out the details with a brush. I like your philosophy of modeling for enjoyment, not just a sense of realism.

Thanks so much! I do enjoy a fun-focused approach. Especially so as I get older. Thanks so much for your kind words, and for watching and commenting. Happy day to you friend!

The blue for the seat belts is indeed correct for British built aircraft of the period. I denotes belts that attach the crew to the aircraft as opposed to those that attach the crew member to his parachute. Nice build.

      Thanks for your kind words!
I'd seen that with the belts in some brief Googling. When I'd watched a video of a German Sea Hawk, they appeared green though. Well, more of a gray-green, though the age of the video made it hard to tell. But I decided to go with green based on that. The choice for a brighter green was more of artistic choice, simply to make it a focal point.
Thanks again for watching and commenting. Happy day to you friend!

Very interesting Jon, I enjoyed watching a different approach to the build of an aircraft. I have an Academy 1/72 P-51D model these techniques could apply to. Thank you for the thought process as you worked the model. It really means a lot to me.

I'm glad you found it helpful. I hope you enjoy the rest of the build! The Mustang kit sounds like it would be fun. Such a lovely aircraft. Happy day to y'all my dear friend!

Haven’t even started the F-2A yet and I’m going to put a piece of tape on the fuselage piece that says “Nose weight”. 😂. Thanks for the video!

Glad to see ya back, Jon! Happy New Year to you and yours! I'm starting the year off outside my comfort zone and will be starting the old Hasegawa 1/32 Me-262A1. I haven't done an aircraft kit since that kit originally came out! 😁 BTW, "Santa" left me one of those Star Wars Legion occupier tanks like you've done! It's good to mix things up a little bit now and then!

Thanks so much for your kind words! I think you'll like the Occupier Tank! Have fun with the Messi as well. Happy day and happy new year to you! 😊

That's a nice project, Jon, and a subject not frequently modeled. I've got the old 1/48 Classic Airframes Seahawk kit and I doubt it'll be as easy to build as the Trumpeter kit, but I like a challenge now and then.

Thanks! I'd posted a blog entry along with this, and to quote from that: "Several results that popped up were available from Special Hobby, and after recovering from the outrageous laughter at the thought of ever building another Special Hobby kit, I saw that Trumpeter had variants too."
      😁
As you know the same company that makes SH made CA kits. And I've decided I've reached the age that I have enough challenges in life outside of the hobby, so I won't be introducing any more than I into the hobby.
Or to quote "Sweet Brown" Wilkins, "ain't nobody got time for that!" 🤣🤣🤣
      Happy day to you friend!

INCONCEIVABLE! You keep using that word, I don't think it means what you think it means. Good stuff, I learned a couple of things, thanks.

What a great way to start the new year with an aircraft and it being a Hawker Sea Hawk. I am curious about the F/A-18E kit you were working on. Did you finish that kit or do you have plans to bring it back at a later date? Also wishing you and your family a Happy New Year and all the best.

Thanks so much - Happy New Year to you and yours also!
I will get back to the Super Bug at some point, but it will be down the road a bit. It's a good kit, but this Sea Hawk caught my attention in a strong way. And I'll be switching off things - airplanes, 40K, Ma. K, Star Wars K 😂, Gunpla, and who know what else. I'm working at a *much*slower pace than I used to, having given up the quest to finish dozens of models per year.
Thanks for coming along for the ride!
