This is perfect for your dwarf to small breeds. Like the netherland dwarfs, polish, hotot they are sized 2lb to 3lbs no more. They stand 14 inches tall. There are special mats you can get online and from 4H rabbit shows to put on floor.
This video is perfect for tortoises as well...the holes in the bottom allow grazing in the grass yet are small enough to keep predators out. And of course it also allows them to bask in the sun. Personally I would add a handle to the top and and a lock for the door.
sujith sudarsanan some countries don’t have them. They can also be called aviary clip pliers. J clips do look nicer and are better for the door hinge as they are tighter than hog rings but hog rings won’t rust like j clips do if you use them where rabbit urinates
Good effort but its too small for a rabbit and it has wire flooring which can cause rabbits feet to sore please take my suggestion make it a lil bigger and with some wood or plastic flooring
According the animal welfare the size does meet requirements. Wire flooring does not cause sore hock it has much more to do with genetics and sanitation. Wood and solid bottom cages allow build up of waist and urine which can cause many health problems even if they are only exposed for a short time
Yours would be 2x4=8 square feet. His 3x2.5=7.5 square feet. Difference is 0.5 square foot. I would say that is pretty close to the same size. Both are plenty big for a doe and her kits. But... I did build my cages 2x4 also. I prefer only 2' depth so my arm reaches the back of the cage for easily reaching and retrieving a rabbit.
Your ignorance is astounding. This is a classic design that has worked for generations being built as shown in this video with the same materials. Tired and true. Maybe you should consider researching a topic before offering your two cents.
Rabbits DO NOT belong in cages like this. The minimum space required for a rabbit is 2ft by 4ft, but preferably 4ft x 4ft! Plus no wire under their feet! Please watch other videos that are appropriate for housing a rabbit. This is cruel!
@@jennaleann1874 really that's your response! How about you stand on those wire cages and see how good your feet feel! And live in a little room. I guess the truth hurts when you know this is being cruel to a furry animal!
Jenna Leann if they live in this your rabbit is not happy. your rabbit cannot binky, do zoomies, run, or flop comfortably in this and sore hocks can occur, i'd never put my mini lop or nethie in this
@@jennaleann1874 how about you get a life? You should go to jail for animal cruelty! Why not you live in a tiny wire floor and see how you can bearly run, or even get around! Imagine your toe being caught in the wire! Ouch!
this is the worst cage ive ever seen... poor bunnies :( if youre gonna get a cage, get a dog excercise pen!! you dont have to build it and you can get it at walmart, and it doesnt have wired floors which can cause sore hocks on your rabbits feet. bunnies, even dwarves, need lots of space to run, binky, and flop
thanks for this. best guide yet. I just put up a cage for our pet bunny following this !
Wow thanks for being quick and concise. Great tip about door wire inside.
Thanks for making this. I am looking to start raising meat rabbits and this is ideal
You have a very nice voice 😍 i even stopped looking at the video and enjoyed listening to you 😂❤️
First video I’ve seen that makes cages the clean way.
Are you sick? Imagine you living in wire with your toes being cut and getting infected because no treatment? Imagine how your feet feel!
How many cages can you make out of that roll ? Thank you. TU 20 Sept 16 14:47
Could you do a part 2? This is really interesting/helpful to watch. Thanks!
What exactly would you want for a part 2?
How you install the feeding watering systems and how you hang them please 😄

Thanks for the good tip to keep the door opening smooth! Leave the wires long and bend them over. Nice!
I like how simple you explain this.

Nicely done! The cage looks great! If you ever are in need if any mesh or hardware cloth let us know :) The Wire Cloth MAN
Does it have to be 1/2 inch. Could you use 1/4?
Anything smaller than half inch won't allow the rabbit poo to fall through
