food on the plane really depends on where you’re flying from. some airports have the worst catering options to load on planes while some are the best. thats why even when you fly the same airline, the food in some flights wont taste as good as other flights.

i made this exact journey traveling to visit family in san fernando back in december and the breakfast was so good. they also gave me an AMAZING chicken tikka on the way home hahah. i flew with emirates and as a 17 y/o traveling alone for the first time since covid, it was terrifying but the food totally made up for it haha
I frequently fly from Australia to Brazil which is like a 30hr+ trip, on economy, and I relate so much with that dazed and confused moment when you wake up and they are serving some type of toastie and you just chow down on it, braincells not really working, and later when you wake up you're like: Wait what, did I eat? What was it? 😂

I am a tall guy 6'2" in height and my knees and my legs need that extra room. But you please you fly safe in general.
If me and you are on about the same Manila, it’s 8 hours from there to Muscat so it should be the same from there to Dubai or have I misunderstood the size of Asia hugrly

Wouldn't say so. They use older planes (but honestly, after I saw a guy piing against the toilet wall with open door on a flight to Bangladesh, I'm not surprised..) but the service is the same. Been flying Emirates Europe to / from Asia VERY often, mostly in Economy (and thanks to my frequent travel occasional upgrades to Business) and there is not much of a difference between the Asia leg and the Europe leg, or for that matter on flights to the US.

Your taste sensation is actually reduced at altitude so food tastes worse, so they put more salt in plane food in order to compensate
That's why people only drink Bloody Mary on planes, tastes gross otherwise 😂
