456 decided instead of taking on the other players so that they could go home, he’d sacrifice half his team to stage a coup against countless armed guards just to lose and get end up back in the games with less allies than he had before. And he convinced other people that this was actually the best way to go…and that’s how you keep a good show going😂
The plot point about them running out of ammo and realizing the guards have extra ammo in their pockets is SO dumb because everyone knows the first rule of video games is you loot their pockets. Like I can’t be convinced all those grown people and no one thought they should check to see what the guards had on them.

First off I wanna say I love your commentary. It's like listening to girl talk. I love it secondly, to sum up everything you saying what I took from the whole series. I think it was a game that the front man was playing with player gi hun. If you remember at the beginning, the front man was saying everyone comes to play the game at their own free will and gi hun wanted to go there and play hero at that point I think front man used everyone else as a tool to teach him a lesson about how society views money and greed. You know how they say people worship money? It's the route to All Evil. I think that was the point he was trying to prove to gi hun.
I finally finished and I liked it, but I agree with you. I wish there were more games. I don’t remember the first season having this many subplots because the brother on the boat situation feels disjointed and like an afterthought. The trans woman is my favorite! Player 100, and the Shaman can choke 😑 I don’t remember having these strong feelings towards people in the first season, but that O team is annoying! The “plan” went on way too long imo and I still don’t know what the goal was.

I love your commentary for one!!! But as far as the season, I feel like it showed they are really two sides of the same coin. They both did the same things but for different reasons the only thing is the front man has accepted the truth of humanity while 456 hasn’t. The truth is… you can’t save everyone and people and their greed is their own demise. I did find the pregnant player interesting tho and her interaction with the front man. I thought maybe he was going to try to rig the game for her but babies have always symbolized hope so I feel like the fact that she is still alive, shows there is still hope for 456 and humanity as a whole. Another really cool nugget, is when they started calling each other by their given names instead of numbers. There’s a belief that when people are given alias they are more likely to act outside of themselves, their beliefs, and morals. So it’s interesting how they started acting more like their true selves after they each gave their given names. It’s also interesting that the front man just chose to identify as 001 even as his real name. It showed me that he is lost in the game or has just accepted who he is.
#456's whole title card is "when desperation leads to your downfall" cause what in all hell. I screamed and hollered the last episode I didn't care for it myself. Looking forward to season 3 though 😏

You’re telling me a bunch of people that were just risking their lives and seeing get slaughtered for money they need to get out of debt or save their child’s life are just suddenly gonna decide to throw that all away to destroy the system?? The writing in S2 wasn’t the best but man this last episode threw everything off a cliff. Makes no sense.
the ones who agreed to rebel the system are the players who voted to leave/end the game. they became frustrated as the players from each side started killing each other anyway trying to rig the vote counts. so at the end, you either die playing the game, get killed by other players before the 2nd round of voting, or die trying to rebel. the whole show is to critique capitalism, this season just highlight the different aspects of people on the bottom trying to fight their way out of being oppressed and exploited by the system. we shall see how season 3 will unfold.

It’s a dumb plan, but it has higher chances of survival than the other option. I thought this season was great. A little predictable, but great nonetheless.

His plan was terrible and 001 was totally laughing to himself at the foolishness. All in all I did enjoy the season, I believe the creator said s2 and 3 were initially one big season but had to be split up because it was “too long” (aka Netflix wanted to ca$h in on subscriptions twice) so the sudden end of s2 makes sense but kinda left the show on an awkward note. Regardless, I am excited for more! Ramble: I am curious how many of the characters will make it out, if any. We still have 3 “evil” players in the gym (Old greedy man, Shaman lady and Rappers friend) who have a whole new season to cause chaos and take out some supporting characters. Grandma still has her hair knife she hasnt used yet, and pregnant girl will probably have her baby in the games (so we need grandma to stay alive till then, since she mentioned helping pregnant women in her village). Trans girl and PTSD marine are on camera shooting the troops so they might get punished.

If they got eliminated with him, I'm sure the mask people would do some scheme to fake his death like they did with the old man in SG1... And look what happened, he did end up faking his death, but I'm getting ahead of this recap, go ahead Tammy.
Everything was good until the end. That shoot out scene dragged on way too long and the ending was just dumb and abrupt. I’m hoping for more resolution and clarity in season 3.
I’m curious about the evolution of 001 from contestant to captain, and that annoying cop is his brother, right? 001 wants to teach 456 a lesson, yet he was careful to shoot his brother in the shoulder, very survivable. The other storyline I’m interested in is what happens to the woman sharpshooter who escaped North Korea & failed to find her baby. We saw the father of the sick little girl get killed, so I’m curious if there will be an interesting flip in the story involving the sharpshooter & the sick (now orphaned) little girl.
Correct - Player 001 isn’t there because of his wife. IRL his character’s wife is actually dead. That could be his back story and perhaps that’s why he’s estranged from his brother, the “annoying cop”, as you call him. But why would people come for Tammy over basic ish? This is a fictional show! Gee whiz 🙄 people - It’s a whole new year! Happy 2025!🎉

In South Korea male are required to join the military so that could explain why 456 was surprising at his gun work.
456 was also collecting guns and had that shooting range set up in the hotel. There was the scene with him shotting. 2+ years is a lot of practice.

The other storyline I’m interested in is what happens to the woman sharpshooter who escaped North Korea & failed to find her baby. We saw the father of the sick little girl get killed, so I’m curious if there will be an interesting flip in the story involving the sharpshooter & the sick (now orphaned) little girl.
I would like to recommend 'The 8 Show". It's also on Netflix. Similar themes & games to Squid Game.

Correct - Player 001 isn’t there because of his wife. IRL his character’s wife is actually dead. That could be his back story and perhaps that’s why he’s estranged from his brother, the “annoying cop”, as you call him. But why would people come for Tammy over basic ish? This is a fictional show! Gee whiz 🙄 people - It’s a whole new year!
