I didn't even think of that. I know that it does happen in some restaurants where they want you to finish your meal quickly and move on so they can get the next group of people in as quickly as possible.
Yeah exactly. Many stores already use this tactic but it takes a lot of time and money for each store. With this it can be done on the fly.
And anywhere that a company can save costs is always going to be implemented as soon as possible. So I can certainly see this being implemented soon by some retailers.

Yeah, I think the training set for the algorithm wasn't that large, so it has to "mix" various elements from various artists to get something like this. I suspect that with more and more training and some upgrades to the algorithm, in the future the music will be truly unique.

That's not how these AI tools work. There is no "mashing" of different random songs, these are entirely new creations.
This is all well and good but I think you’d agree lacks emotion. Music is possibly the hardest form of art to artificially replicate. Good music is all about subtle variations, details, vibrations that only the human ear can appreciate. I think AI will never in my lifetime master
At the moment I'd agree with you. But the AI tools are "evolving" so fast at the moment that I wouldn't say "never in my lifetime". Do you mean the result specifically or the number of tracks being generated using AI? Yield in my mind is the word I associate with farming, ie. How much yield I get from my crops. Are you questioning how much effort and time goes into these music making models and the "poor" results we seem to be getting at the moment?
@@AIMusic101 Yield as in the quality of what is produced, not the quantity. Should have used a different word. Yield in terms of quantity we know could be much much more than what people could directly produce.
Ai is kinda purist, it doesn't fully understand the feels that music of this genre does to people if it did it would be more adventurous, and by feels, I mean, ai can't ever take drugs like x, and therefore will never and can't ever fully understand music genres. Musically, the win is with a human conscious.
The "feels" are different for different people too, maybe someone else loved the "feels" this music gave them.
Lacks emotion and movement, the drops are literally boring as. if I listen to this on a rave I probably might as well go back home to listen to some good music created from hard work knowledge and cleverness. I can tell there's definetly none of this on this track
And there are many people who feel that music created by "hard work knowledge and cleverness" are also without feeling and emotion. I feel nothing when listening to country music ... does that make country music bad?

Keeping it real, this sounds cool. In essence, very impressive that this was created by AI. But ultimately, this track is generic and boring and goes nowhere for 20 minutes even with the buildups and breakdowns (could of been cut down to less than 7 minutes). Sounds like some Beatport Top 20 filler.
I totally agree that it's not as good as a human at this point, but like I've said in many of the other comments; This is the worst the AI will ever be. It's only getting better from here and in a few years it's going to be so good that 99% of the people who listen to it will not even know that it was entirely AI created.

What does "Ai" mean anyway? Sure some sequences/Melodiew are cloned or copied from other stuff in the researched Data base of the algo. That means il he simply recreated stuff that exists. And music is about creativity. This is good though to destinguish between real artists and copy paste artists 👊
How many "true artists" have you heard saying: "I was inspired by ...."? Doesn't that also count as not being creative? Why do "true artists" need to be inspired by someone else? Did their subconscious "copy paste" the original and distort it some way to come up with a "new creation"?

An imitation can never surpass the original. This is precisely why collectors always seek out the original version, regardless of what they are collecting. If human music lacks a distinct style and uniqueness, it lacks emotional intelligence (EQ), so to speak, this kind of music AI may be capable of reproducing , but when it comes iconic artists it will fail to comprehend subtext, zeitgeist, humor, and the inclusion of cultural and sub-cultural contexts in its generation. Above all, AI does not understand human personality. In the next 10 years, we may not be able to discern any difference between contemporary chart pop, EDM, synthwave, and so on. However, AI will never possess the ability to create the "next Sparks album" or produce an artist on the same level as "Michael Jackson." ( only "ordered from Wish" versions) AI can only be trained based on available data, but even then, it will never - not in a million years - be able to predict the potential creation of an iconic artist. The original will always remain original. AI lacks intention because it is merely a network devoid of needs and instincts. Everything that emerges from it remains an illusion. I personally focus on originality and authenticity rather than poor imitations without history. Masses of emerging artists in the last 25 years lack depth, merely mimicking the pioneers and innovators of the past. This trend of soulless replication has been prevalent for quite some time, resembling artificial intelligence in human form. This phenomenon extends beyond music to various aspects of culture and society.
Love the discussion on this. You make some really good points about originality and how only a few posses the qualities to make them special and I totally agree with you. There will always be room / space for the truly great humans and the works they create.

That's a harsh assessment of the music industry. I do believe that more music does not equal quality music and we've seen an explosion of music since the 2000s. The are some gems out there, but they get lost in the sea of mediocrity.

Just remember that this is the worst it will ever be. Algorithms are evolving all the time. At the moment it's ~25% as good as a human, in 1 year it'll be ~50% as good and in 5 years I think it will be better than 99% of all humans at making music.
