I love how this movie exists, lays out the means, motives and mechanisms EXACTLY and people STILL think " punk rock" was some kind of "socio-political movement" rather than a well organized commercial endeavor to exploit the ignorance of a young, illinformed fan base.
Even if this movement was planned as a controlled mutiny, the "creators" lost control very fast. The times were very "revolutionary" because of the pauperization of British society. "No future" was not only a made-up slogan. Not at all! A lot of people felt like failures. A lot of people felt anger! The anger was smoldering in the hearts of young people in those times, and punk rock was something like an igniting liquid poured onto the smoldering material. A very useful tool given into the hands of young people to show this anger.
@@rejmons1 lol... Nope. It was 100% a marketing ploy from the beginning in the late 70s to the end in the early 2000s when the music industry itself got in on the scam.
its DADA ISm at its best.. the fact that the creators hate their work is the icing on the cake.. but it is so much more clever than on its front.... life, death, money, punk and everything inbetween.. i think it is one of the best pieces of art of the 20th Centuary.. and is ageless
''Coincidences'' are often found decades after the fact and most of the time they are screaming bloody hints of ''special agendas'', to be dealt with in sensationalist fashion, meaning, in the eye of the public, who gets always a pretty schematic view of the event. Well said, RossBayCult; btw, how's Black Winds?
He was quite a character (namely vocally) in the Long Saga of the Last Days of The Sex Pistols. Huddersfield Christmas was their redemption before the Nation, as I see it. That was marvellous! And very Punk, even if Lydon didn't enjoy the term.
In my top 5 punk songs of all time
In spite of everyfing, it's still a great track.
What a tune, best chorus of all time

Just as the camera faces Sid Vicious
