    What are your thoughts about these grails? Do YOU think they qualify? And what about your own grail list? Which albums have you found… or are still looking for? Let me know all of that, and anything else, in the comments below.

    Slayer - Hell Awaits. Their best album. ;)
    Great show, mate!

    • @TheAccusationNetwork
      @TheAccusationNetwork  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Dave! Yeah, Hell Awaits is pretty great. I think that was the first Slayer album I bought when it was brand new, having already gotten the first one months before. Classic stuff, especially At Dawn They Sleep.

    Great video! Kreator! Overkill! I have that Queensryche album. And I was in the video for "Queen Of The Ryche" I was one of the helmeted guards that come up out of the sand and pull the band down under, then fight with them. Love that Ratt EP, funny about the puffy coat 😂and killer Venom! And who doesn't love a nice cold class of priest vomit on a hot day. Cheers

    My original Def Jam pressing of Slayer's "reign in blood" has NO skips. I bought it when it came out in 1986. Though i'm in Canada it wasn't a Canadian pressing it was imported from the U.S.. I don't know what happened to your copy, maybe they had problems with the manufacturing process & wasn't discovered until after hundreds were made, then fixed it & didn't bother with a product recall thinking Metalheads will be too stoned or drunk to notice.

    • @TheAccusationNetwork
      @TheAccusationNetwork  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, the skip thing was weird back then. Maybe it was just a limited regional batch or something? Good to know that my neighbor to the north was spared the ordeal, though. Thanks for commenting.

    Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath also have band, album and same song name lol. Great grails Matt. Some I’m a bit jealous of!! My grail list is long but I am slowly ticking off a few as I go along. I managed to pick up quite a few with a couple of vinyl hauls in recent months, I think you may have checked out my “show off” vids already. Love the fact that you grabbed a lot of your grails at time of original release maybe not knowing at the time how important and now sort after those albums have become. Cool thumbnail 🤘

      If only I could have hung onto my childhood collection, as there were a number of gems in there. But, that's what all of this "reacquisition" is about. You and I are also in a fortunate age grouping and have some real history with this music so the knowledge and appreciation are there.

  • @thatedguy333

    The original press of Metal Church had a track called Big Guns on it.

    • @TheAccusationNetwork

      Presses in some countries did, include the cassette version. The original US vinyl version, to the best of my knowledge, did not. But, if you know something I don't, then good on ya.

    What an awesome selection of records Matt, I can understand why they are grails of yours!! As a collector there is no better feeling than owning & holding in you hands, the sleeve, whilst the disc spins it’s magic for you!! Great video my friend & btw I’m one of those people who prefers South of Heaven & I don’t even care, lol!! Take care brother!!🤘🏻

      It really IS magic! We're truly lucky to have the history and memories we do with these albums. As for South of Heaven... I forgive you. LOL. But, seriously, it's a good album and I dig it too. Thanks for checking in.

    Very cool that you showed the KISS Originals set. My late aunt bequeathed her copy to me. I wanted to also mention, that the version I have has included, mini post cards uncut and a KISS army decal (sticker) pretty cool.

    • @TheAccusationNetwork
      @TheAccusationNetwork  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine was an impulse buy at a rock convention back in 2015. Always wanted it, so I snagged the first copy I found in the wild. Might try to upgrade it one day. Sweet that you got the cards and the decal.

    Damn !! You're not gonna believe it. I got my Reign in Blood when it was just released , it was in december that year when I got it and it also skipped a lot . The vinyl store got a lot of thrash metal albums at that time and I live in Panama. So the copies they got , had that issue too.

    • @TheAccusationNetwork
      @TheAccusationNetwork  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      CRAZY!!! That flaw really made its way around, I suppose.

    I also have an og def jam reign in blood. Mine sounds killer. No pops or skips noticeable. My other notable grails are master of puppets first press and show no mercy first press.

  • @eriksenbriggs
    @eriksenbriggs ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Some of my grails are Opeth - Still Life (first press), King Crimson - Discipline (first press), Metallica - Master of Puppets (first press, MFN, no insert thought) and Sepultura - Schizophrenia (2014 Metal Blade reissue, blue vinyl)

    Interestingly my copy of Fistful of Metal does have the pink logo. But it's a Music For Nations pressing. So, not sure what happened there.

    • @TheAccusationNetwork
      @TheAccusationNetwork  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. Maybe some early copies made it out to MFN across the pond. Either way, you've got a good one.

    Okay, I am super jealous of that 206 Queensryche! Very nice. Also love the Ratt ep, had it on cassette as a kid. As for Slayer, I agree with Reign in Blood, but I also love and played the absolute shit out of South of Heaven and Seasons in the Abyss. Great video, as always!

    Great grail picks, a few of those would be picks from my collection too. About seeing Kreator live, you saw them with me around 1989 in Providence with Coroner. I'm pretty sure it was the Extreme Aggression tour because we were standing too close to where the pit was going to be then they opened with "Some Pain Will Last" and we both got knocked on our asses when all hell broke loose haha.

    • @TheAccusationNetwork
      @TheAccusationNetwork  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's right. I think that was the first time I saw them. Incredible show at a great venue. If you have any of your own grail albums to list, drop them here.

    I think Pleasure to Kill reigns in the heart of every metalhead. It's a great album musically, but it's also one of those albums that has a lot of depth.
    "A man lies in the corner covered with blood
    Bloody wounds on his body
    Praying to his God
    People passing by, but they say
    Why should we care about him
    He will die today"
    A couple years after I started listening to them, I experienced almost that same situation while walking down the street with my former friend. We saw an old man, old enough to be my great-grandfather, on the sidewalk with blood gushing from his cracked head on the sidewalk. It was in 2010, but I still never forget the arduous and painful sight. It was right by a hospital, many people were passing by, but nobody gave a fuck about him. I quickly ran into the hospital and got the staff to come out and help him. After the ordeal, those lyrics started playing in my head. What Kreator sang about is far more than metal lyrics. It's a disgusting reality that I witnessedin front of my sails which brought me even closer to this album.

    • @TheAccusationNetwork
      @TheAccusationNetwork  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Heck of a story. And, yeah, that track is a real keeper, including those lyrics. Well, okay, maybe the lonely flower could go, but otherwise... LOL.

    I hope to see more video on top death metal bands of the past. I was a teenager around the time death metal was popular, and did not own or know about the top releases. Bands like metal church and slayer were out of my reach, and did not realise how great the records were, or cassettes in my case. Only death metal music I had on cassette was Venom welcome to hell, and I would listen with headphones so the parents wouldn't hear, but I loved it and need the vinyl whenever that happens. But I would love to know what other top death metal bands have, and own some of the best for my collection.

    • @TheAccusationNetwork
      @TheAccusationNetwork  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have some plans for some death metal-centered videos in the future but it's going to be awhile for those. But, they are on the docket, believe me. Thanks for watching.

    Some great grails here. Jealous about the Twisted Sister. I had that Destruction album, and stupidly traded it several years back. As for the Originals, I remember seeing these all over the place as little as 5, 6 years ago, but I haven't seen many at all since then at all. Luckily, I got a really nice at one point. The Canadian version is slightly different... it does not have those folder-style sleeves... rather it's a full jacket: you put 2 record in one sleeve. In the other, you put one record, and the booklet, stickers, etc. Good stuff!
    Frank

    • @TheAccusationNetwork
      @TheAccusationNetwork  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, need to upgrade the Originals set (and, of course, find that Japanese sequel). Interesting detail on the Canadian version. Of course, now I need to have that so, thanks, Frank! LOL. Thanks for commenting.

    Just recently got into vinyl. Some of mine I wanted/obtained on vinyl were Hawkwind- "In Search of Space", Accept -"Breaker" (German pressing, it has different logo than the one we got in the US). Kiss "Kiss" (first LP I ever bought myself in the 70s), Judas Priest "Hell Bent for Leather" "Sin After Sin" (ah fuck anything by them is grail to me). I would love to get original Samhain LPs. Good LORD, they are expensive.

    • @TheAccusationNetwork
      @TheAccusationNetwork  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, geez, those Samhain OGs - many in NM for over $100. Would love to have them but... yeah, pricey.

    The only holy grails I have that arent collectors editions are an original 1984 pressing of Jag Panzer's Ample Destruction and a numbered copy of Tales of Medusa's 2010 album The Fatal Wounding Gaze. Honestly anything from the latter band is a holy grail considering just how rare they are and how their will never be a reissue

    • @TheAccusationNetwork
      @TheAccusationNetwork  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Certainly rarity and lack of reissues can be factors, but the intrinsic personal value it has to the listener can't be discounted. Cool records.
