great review man, this bike is know as Ninja RR Mono in Indonesia when it was first introduced. Then they later changed it to Ninja 250 SL. Yup the engine is solid and it is the same as engine as in Kawasaki KLX250. Its reliable. For the engine oil, mechanic in south east asia advised to put a little bit more oil since many have sized camshaft due to oil starvation if ridden hard. I myself own that bike here in Malaysia and it’s my daily commuter.
This bike is spectacular. It’s perfect for people around m.1.70 and 60 kg, that’s may be the only limit. I added a Rapid bike EVO module, Akrapovic and filter, and I couldn’t be more satisfied on my Italian mountains. They told me it was no allowed to remap. Do you have some experience about the add module? Here in Italy it’s very rare my bike so I have no terms of comparison...Thanks for the video
Those bikes shouldn't need to be remapped when you install aftermarket exhaust. Mine ran the same. They do run them lean though so they can tend to cut out at idle the odd time even with stock exhaust. Those bikes are absolutely fantastic. They need the stock exhaust replaced straight away for some work a better sound. And you'd be better off replacing the sprockets (increasing the # teeth at front or decreasing the # teeth dry the rear) so the bike runs faster for a given rev. They are too slow off the mark in first in second gear in particular. Once you get to 4th-6th gear the bike feels like it's running properly.
@@TheMotorcycleMuse Thanks. Yes it doesn’t seem to have changed since I added the EVO. Just softer in first and second gear. Yes it’s true the first two gears are really short but you are appreciating it when you rise at some hard slopes. I will ask the mechanic about adding a teeth. Thanks for the video
rock solid bike. I owned it till 23k kms. I ony changed oil as motul 7100 10w40. It carried abusement.

Yes it only takes a litre of oil which is very little. I might do as you suggest and add oil in to make sure its at the max level on mine 👍
looks better than the 250 parallel twin, wished that Kawasaki made it upside down forks and a parallel twin engine, and thats it.
very good review. Lot of interesting information!
We have ninja 250 sl too, since 2015
