    Another DIY Studio Desk Build:
    Part 1: • Building The Ultimate ...
Part 2: • Installing the Ultimat...
Bryce wanted a sitting/standing desk so he could stand while recording guitar & bass and then sit while mixing or doing whatever else. This is by far the EASIEST studio desk I've ever built! You could totally knock this project out in just one day. A few years ago I designed and built a desk for my studio out of 6 sheets of plywood and took weeks to complete. This one was so easy I thought I was cheating! The top was repurposed from a desk that was purchased from a surplus sale from a local college. The hutch was built from 3/4" plywood and a solid wood face frame. The sitting/standing desk frame was provided by Flexispot.
    Tools & Materials:
    - Pocket Hole Jig:

    - Edge Banding Flush Cut Pliers

    - Odies Oil

    - Wood Filler

    - 6 Space Rack Rails:
    imp.i114863.ne...
    - Flexispot Standing Desk Frame:
    bit.ly/3yv4cxy
    - Maple Desk Top 60" x 30"
(I bought it used but you can find similar tops at most places that sell
    wood/lumber)
    - 3/4" Birch Plywood for hutch (about 1/4 of a sheet)
6 Space Rack Hutch Cut List:
    Uprights (x3): 10.5" x 12.25"
    Top: 40.5" x 12.25"
Face Frame: .75" x .75" (cut to fit after assembled)
    Price Breakdown:
Table Top: $75 (bought 2nd hand)
    6U Rack Rails: $25
    Desk Frame: $370
Sheet of Plywood: $60 (only need 1/4 of a sheet. Also plywood is still stupid high the moment...)
Maple for Face Frame: Less than $10 of materials used

Where can I find those tracks you use for background music or do you have an album with those tracks? That kind of music is relaxing to me.

See, this is the kind of paid promotion that actually works. That's a sick desk. If I ever wanted to build one, I would seriously consider following along and buying the product. It's far better than some schmuck trying to sell me raycons.

Been a fan for a while, no where near the craftmanship of this but I expanded my desk (aka basic ikea table) with some MDF last year and it's made my workflow way better for the cost of a single sheet of MDF and some screws. It's not that stable any more mind, but it's fit for purpose backed against a wall!

Cool video, a little misleading though. You pretty much bought an adjustable height frame and slapped a piece of wood on the top. I still think the best bang for the buck is the husky adjustable height workbench. You have to hand crank it but for $200, can’t beat it, and it has casters.

i built 2 big benches for my workshop/studio. one side has my audio gear, monitors mixer etc. the other side has electronics and down one end wall is my drums, and a wall of guitar amps, on the other end is an outboard motor, compressor power tools..kinda chaotic. Was thinking of building a rack hutch for about 3ru per side. thanks for the link..will get some

    Just ordered the E7
I think 355 pounds capacity should be fine considering I’m not using the monster butcher block top you got going on, lol
Also, my monitors will all be on stands so between two vid monitors and my “ every day use” rack gear.
    Apollos, comps, eq and pre-amps
    Table top Basic DAW controller
I’m pretty sure I’ll will be under 200 pounds.
Additional processors, AxeFx , Eventide, etc.
Can stay, in they’re patchbay bins
    One suggestive request
I’ve been kicking around how to keep a full size Arturia 88 key keyboard under the workstation
I thought of building the sliding shelf projection that I see everywhere but then I thought perhaps the keyboard would be too high to play
Another option is to have the keyboard self supportive, so it remains at playing height even as the desk raises
    Thoughts
    Thanks for the vid
I have a for woodwork shop as well so I’m pretty much stealing your layout

Very nice, it's essential but effective. I've been curious about doing bigger build projects like this, but alas, I do not have the space for a workshop and wouldn't trust myself with tools that could claim my fingers anyway. Do you do these kinds of projects as a service, or is it on a favour basis?
