@@Maria-tl9lw He got kicked out around two years ago for cases of sexual assault and setting Dom’s friend up for a robbery (also why Dom is the most (justifiably) aggressive in the video).
Edit: These were my vague thoughts and interpretations that i had when i first watched the music video so anything i say may not be 100% at all but its just what i captured in my head. Just a thought/interpretation: This video is an intervention of these members confessing negative/traumatic events in their life and we could be looking at the perspective of a therapist, OR most notably, Ameer. At Kevins part, he is upclose to the camera (Ameer) and try to get into his mind of what he did to even get to the position hes in now, along with the other BH members, after Kevin and Ameer being very close friends these years, hes hurt to see this betrayal. At Jobas part, hes simply giving an outcry for why Ameer has not told them his true backstory, his departure and asking why it had to be this way. At Matts part we see that he prepared a notes speaking about the losses he has had in his lifetime and couldnt put up the fact that he had to get through another loss. He then starts breaking down in anger and tears up the notes. While thats happening, Merlyn is seen next to him doing nothing but giving a horrified and broken look, as if seeing this mess grow, he is left speechless and cant speak his words out due to how shocking the situation is. At last we have Dom, who goes on a rant about how furiously pissed he is at Ameer for doing what he did to his friend (set him up for robbery) and has a mental breakdown, while trying to cope by lighting a cig. Dom then goes on to speak on how Ameer tries to clear up his past by looking toward the good things in life and reaching out to God, but it wont erase the fact that he fucked over his once close friend. Hence why you see Dom getting aggressive toward the camera (Ameer). Sorry if this sounded all over the place.
OK Dean / Amiel Blue this is accurate but I’m not sure about doms friend and the robbery, but it sounds like it makes sense. After seeing this video it gives the song way more meaning. Easily the most powerful song on the album and maybe they have ever made
I think that you're right about the intervention, but I'm not sure that this song is entirely about the trauma of ameer. Sure it was traumatic for Kevin and dom, but joba has said his verse was inspired by his grand parents death. Same with matt champion and his grandfather's recent passing.
lol you speculate too much. Joba said it had to do with one of his grandmas who recently died and his other grandma has dementia. Rehear the song with that in mind see how hard it hits you
if you ignore the fact that dom would be beating the group therapist tf up. just from that cold ass stare at the beginning i figured it was from the perspective of ameer.
Lukitno that makes even more sense, I didn’t think of that. I think the way there were sitting reminded me of therapy but with Dom’s part them talking directly to Ameer makes sense.
Wow that was really powerful. Everyone always talks about Dom's strong verse here and all due respect to him for that. BUT MATT! Matt was really honest in this verse and he deserves more credit for that.
This might’ve been addressed, but i’m pretty sure you can hear Dom dropping/hitting the mic and walking out after his verse. This song is fucking amazing.

this video wasn’t going to come out because of how vulnerable it makes all of them we should all be supporting them as this is the final part of their recovery, our support
Holy damn that video was transcendent. It's absolutely perfect for the song, it did more than embody it, it added a whole new crazy layer of how they really cope and what kind of struggles they were going through while making Dearly Departed and probably the rest of Ginger. The way they only lipsynced parts, Matt tearing up papers, everyone getting angry, Dom barely performing his intense verse and instead just tensely smoking, it does so much to highlight how the album is STILL a cleaned-up expression of the hard times and negative emotions they were going through. Listening to Dom's anger on the track, the door slam, and then watching this video, the descent into uncontrolled, volatile emotions is incredible

Justin Stahmer i thought it sounded like summer but i was like nah im just hearing things. but whats the significance of it though like why did they do that
I don’t think it is, it’s just bearface’s signature guitar style. He plays with a lot of bends and hammer-ons, clipping off notes a lot, and dabbles around the pentatonic scale, playing a lot of the same patterns of notes. It’s kind of cool how he plays with such a recognizable style.
My interpretation of the video: the whole camera shot in the beginning is perfectly symmetrical from the lamps to the windows and the way sit, and hides all emotion, then once they say their verse they disrupt the perfect camera shot with the chaos of emotion, this is symbolic of the fact that creating this song was a therapy session for BH and are expressing their emotions about ameer. they finally feel like they can let out their emotion and gain some closure for their emotions they’ve been bundling up for so long, and that’s why the video is in a POV of ameer in a therapy like session.
They also each become transparent and show us the different ways they deal with pain, Kevin sorta becomes dismissive and Joba breaks down and becomes sad, Matt turns his emotional pain heal feels into physical pain or self-harm and blames himself unjustly, and finally Dom stands on a chair and becomes angry and violent in order to reclaim dominance and power he feels he’s lost after he was backstabbed and set up by ameer, and merlyn bottles everything up inside and doesn’t share with anyone. Just some food for thought....
I feel like Matt’s part in this video is one of the most heartbreaking, it’s just so relatable. We have all been there, screaming fuck wishing things were different

honestly, seeing merlyn just sitting there motionless speaks absolute volumes. i knew doms verse would fuck me up but watching him take out his frustration and anger on the camera was gut wrenching. my heart goes out to everyone, this album is beautiful and so raw!
my heart broke when matt started punching his head
Being in an emotional position where the only thing that you can do is that...shit man, truly heartbreaking.
Dany Espinosa. Truly. Seeing a situation this infuriating, saddening and really just raw like this makes me so emotional despite only being a new listener
fuckin same g, that broke my heart cuh ive been there so many times in my life where all i could do was hit shit
jackie if you been here since the jump it’s even sadder. I been here since American boy band and I loved Ameers flow... I can’t imagine reaching such a level of success and having to dump one of your boys by the side. Must hurt so much and that’s why this song has so much weight
@@paulkuhns2175 Yeah I could never imagine what it must be like, a bunch of them went to the same school and knew each other since they were kids didn't they? Either that or I'm misinformed
I feel like every member has there big moment, for joba it could be his verse on Johnny, for Kevin it could be his opening bars on junky, but if were being real this was Dom’s shinning moment
Dom has big moments on pretty much every song in sat 2. The gummy verse is nearly a minute long.
Yes!! I also love his swamp verse, it's awesome

yaboibeef Doms shining moment for me was Star in the sat trilogy
Doms shining moment will always be milk
pov: dom beating you up and kevin lecturing about seashells in the background
i didn’t understand why joba cried about this video. apparently, i was living under a rock. i googled all the ameer drama, then read through the lyrics once again and watched this video. fucc, i felt the pain.
What happened with ameer?
@@Maria-tl9lw He got kicked out around two years ago for cases of sexual assault and setting Dom’s friend up for a robbery (also why Dom is the most (justifiably) aggressive in the video).
Edit:
These were my vague thoughts and interpretations that i had when i first watched the music video so anything i say may not be 100% at all but its just what i captured in my head.
Just a thought/interpretation:
This video is an intervention of these members confessing negative/traumatic events in their life and we could be looking at the perspective of a therapist, OR most notably, Ameer.
Rehear the song with that in mind see how hard it hits you
True true :)
The Recreational Guru just a good idea as to what everyone’s verse could be about. dassalll
Am I the only one that's concerned about seeing Merlyn stay still this long?
somebody hold him before shit gets ugly
They definitely told him if you stand still for the whole video they’ll take him to whataburger
it was like when they did San Marcos live on triple j
The best part of this music video is when it says media offline every two seconds.

You could tell Matt really felt everything
Dom:🤚🏿📹
The camera: Woah take it easy man
Merlyn’s face when Dom hit the camera the first time...and knowing that was his genuine reaction since hitting the camera was unscripted... so cool
Video feels like it’s from the perspective of a group therapist. Makes sense given the subject matter.
So the therapist gets fucking smacked by dom?
if you ignore the fact that dom would be beating the group therapist tf up. just from that cold ass stare at the beginning i figured it was from the perspective of ameer.
if it was filmed from the perspective of a group therapist then they just got fucked up by Dom.
Defo think its amears prospective
Lukitno that makes even more sense, I didn’t think of that. I think the way there were sitting reminded me of therapy but with Dom’s part them talking directly to Ameer makes sense.
I'm glad they're posting this one at 9 instead of 10 so I can watch it before my bedtime
Y’all complained about having too many Matt’s face close ups and BH responded by cutting it out completely
not really lmao, boy bye has them

Plot twist: Merlyn was gonna rap like usual but Dom slapped the living heaven out of the camera
Wow that was really powerful. Everyone always talks about Dom's strong verse here and all due respect to him for that. BUT MATT! Matt was really honest in this verse and he deserves more credit for that.
Ameer: I fear no man, but that thing...
[Verse 3: Dom Mclennon]
It terrifies me
*it scares me
loved when merlyn sat from 0:15 to 5:13, favorite part of the video
I'm just waiting to scream HOW MANY SIDES TO A STORY
and then just belt out 'MOTHER FUCKER' at the end
This might’ve been addressed, but i’m pretty sure you can hear Dom dropping/hitting the mic and walking out after his verse. This song is fucking amazing.
i noticed that, you can feel the emotion that went into this song
the fact that everything in this is real emotion is crazy

bro I loved the part where joba screams "i'll break your neck so you can watch your back" and then proceeds to break his neck and watch his back while reciting "i'll break your neck so you can watch your back"

Pop artists don’t normally give you that honesty. Thank you, brockhampton. You guys are beautiful. This is the best music video I have ever seen because of your ability to put everything on the line. I love you all.
Idk why but Matt’s verse makes me just as sad as doms verse does. When he says big dog it just reminds me that him and Ameer were friends in high school and really close
So very powerful.
"How many sides to a story can there be when you saw it with your own eyes?"
I feel like the video is trying to emulate an intervention
Either an intervention or a funeral, the latter is obvious but I like the former too
precisely
It was hard for them to see Ameer go but when they realized who he truly was it hit harder. Dom said it best on his verse
Bearface's guitar outro is so beautiful yet so slept on
After hearing the back story to this track I appreciate it much more. The hurt, anger, emotions etc. in the lyrics is felt.
Can u explain it to me🥺
On some real shit, when kev said "who am i, who am I, why I hide?.." I reallyyyy felt that..

Notice how Merlyn walked up? This is robot Merlyn. Real Merlyn is chillin in one of his fruity cereal baths while they shoot this.
this video wasn’t going to come out because of how vulnerable it makes all of them
we should all be supporting them as this is the final part of their recovery, our support
Can we just appreciate Joba and how much emotion he shows in this song
Did not expect a video for this one here, but now I’m glad there is
1:50 Joba tryin so hard to not grab his junk to hit that high note.
i love this but joba’s voice DUDE a literal angel

Why?
Why?

[Verse 2: Matt Champion]
Big dog, I feel like I don't got anybody on my side no more
Highs to lows‚ truth be told
It's hard to ignore, hard to endure
Where's my stamina in this life?
Make sure my family tight
More rubies on my neck and they catch me at night
Lookin' immaculate, no one in sight
Standards are high‚ expectations are low
Wake up sweatin' at night, mind in a flight
I don't get scared no more when I'm standin' on the mountaintop
I'm afraid of people dyin'
Rest in peace Wako, Ray, Rita
Wish you could've took me to Japan
Back ten years, holdin' my hand, felt like a hundred grand
Wish them letters didn't fade, love will never do the same
Out the window screamin' your name, bless it
Mama on track, my dad got my back
My sister graduated, now she racin'
Love her through the days and whiskey in my hand
Bloody colored trinkets wrapped around my wrist
Lookin' magnificent, man
No stoppin' me, no boggin' me down
I know myself, me and the obstacles now
I done shit on myself too much to not know how to move properly now
On the property now, money gets foul
Keep your wits about you
They stretch the truth longer than the Nile
Eyes full of evil, mouth full of vile
They tracin' your smile
Stay alert, big dog
Only one life is offered to you
(Only one life is offered to you)
[Verse 3: Dom McLennon]
How many sides to a story can there be when you saw it with your own eyes?
I got all my thoughts out on records y'all won't ever hear
Tried to give it time
Find that truth trickles down, hits the fan
Freezes over like a dagger to the spine
When somebody that you know throws you in the fire
How do you survive?
I kicked down the door inside a home I didn't own just to save a friend's life
Little did I know, the one who pulled the strings was once on my side
I had just moved to Texas, tried to make it right
I do not feel obliged to dismiss the truth because of how I feel about our time
If I knew what you would do to someone you owe money to, you wouldn't get a dime
Watch for where you land, sorry 'bout your plans
That was all a scam, you won't understand
Pass the weight off to your friends and never face the truth
Because you never learned how to be a man
And it's not my fault, and it's not my problem anymore
That's just where you stand
That's just who you are
That's your cross to bear
You could talk to God

Why is nobody talking about the fact that the ending riff is from SUMMER
Justin Stahmer i thought it sounded like summer but i was like nah im just hearing things. but whats the significance of it though like why did they do that
Sounded like the one from WASTE too. Could've been unintentional, a lot of Ciarans riffs sound similar.
Damn didn’t even notice but yeah sounds pretty much exactly like it
I don’t think it is, it’s just bearface’s signature guitar style. He plays with a lot of bends and hammer-ons, clipping off notes a lot, and dabbles around the pentatonic scale, playing a lot of the same patterns of notes. It’s kind of cool how he plays with such a recognizable style.

LMFAOO FR
Just some food for thought....
this songs feels like watchin your parents havin a fight
Dom's lyrics always hit on a different level, also I wonder if it was scripted for Matt to yell out in rage
i honestly don't think it was, the lyrics are about his grandparents dying so i think its pretty raw
dom's verse on this is genuinely the hottest shit ever put on a brockhampton record
The pieces of paper with Matt can be them writing down what to say durning an intervention. Best video hands down
I feel like Matt’s part in this video is one of the most heartbreaking, it’s just so relatable. We have all been there, screaming fuck wishing things were different
