I have an older valve box that was installed like this. Even though the pipe holes aren't that big, they allowed lots of dirt to enter over time and now all of the rocks inside my valve box are a dirt/rock mixture. This makes it very difficult when it is time to replace a valve.

I live how the cutting of the hole is so perfect in real life it is not

      Thanks for your feedback.
All the 4-sides of the valve box has predefined cutting areas where the wall is thinnest and cutting can be very precise and easy. The strudy support angles give anyhow high resistance to loads.

@@ISEontheweb I’m going to guess John was talking about the hole in the ground.

Hello Does anyone make valve boxes that lock and require a key to open or remove? Thanks!

Can't make out the name of the cutters. "You just need a pair of" ... sec-a-tairs? Sec-a-turs?

Hi Scott, he says "a pair of secateurs". Here's an image for reference only: image.shutterstock.com/image-photo/spring-pruning-roses-garden-gardeners-600w-1721027776.jpg

As a 15 year sprinkler business owner it is absolutely idiotic to install with small gravel. Why? When you repair a valve that has some water left in the line where do you think those little rocks go when you have the valves disassembled? Yep right into the pipe. HD weed mat works just fine and keeps the ground rodents out as well. Clean as can be!

Hello, thanks for your comment. HD weed mat is a good option too, but the main reason for having gravel over weed mat is that this option increases drainage. Furthermore, using big gravel can prevent pipe occlusion. Thanks!

So having 15 years of experience is a reason to call someone an idiot instead of rightfully assuming that not everyone knows as much as you do with 15 years of experience

@@artymunoz5060 the installation process is idiotic. Not calling the installer an idiot.

It seems pretty easy to not get rocks in the pipe.
