Great vid! The DG is indeed the best team imo and i had a lot of fun woth them. They rely too much on corrodius's positioning on the first turn to grab buffs, and i had to respect Pestilian a bit, as his direct dmg hurts and his passive is the only thing preventing the necrons to completely counter the DG.

Necron should be within the top 3, let alone not even being mentioned within the top 10. This is speaking from someone who isn’t normally a Necron fan but was able to reach 250+ medals playing only at a common rarity(mostly due to a lack of upgrade on Makhotep) Here are all the reasons why Necron should be way higher on the list. 1. Aleph null: besides being a tanky healer that keeps his entire lineup healed with both the passive and cast heal. His active scrab summons initial pierce damage and the potential of them multiplying out of control is something people cannot ignore. This means the opponent will be forced to either spend a lot of action killing the scarab or leave them to overrun the arena. 2. Imospekh: his Overwatch is also cannot to be ignored, especially if he grabs a hit power-up, you guarantee to lose someone charging in thinking it is not as bad as Re’vas with her active. On top of that, a buff-out Imosphekh could potentially wipe out a large chunk of the enemy team with his active. 3. Thutmose: the dark horse of this faction comp. We all know how he can dish out good damage, but his squishiness means he a glass cannon. How about taking his glass cannon nature and pushing it to the extreme? Melee power is the undisputed best power-up for Thutmose. Both his range and melee do 2 hits at 65% pierce. By giving him a melee attack power-up he will be doing 6 big hit attacks with 65% pierce, allowing him to one-shot pretty much anyone besides the tankiest unit with a power-up. This means it even allows him to one-shot normal heroes with a shield after receiving their power-up, catching them completely off guard. You can offset some of his squishiness by giving him health power up. Most of the time, you shouldn’t even bother using his active. 4. Makhotep: we know he provides a decent amount of heal to adjacent units, and his active could potentially help Aleph Null spawn more Scarab, but often people forget that the +1 movement he provides will sometimes determine whether your other unit can reach the power-up or not. Admittedly the random spawn placement at the start doesn’t provide a reliable way to rush power up, even then the +1 still provides tactical flexibility to your unit, especially to Aleph null and Thutsmose since they are flying units. You don’t me to explain how good it is to give +1 movement on a roid out Thutmose. 5. Anuphet is the last and the centrepiece piece of this Necron comp. Anuphet active, spawn strong Necron warrior based on how many turns have passed, and how many Necron units have died. This means that you can be extremely aggressive with Necron at any given moment and be rewarded for losing unit. Is Aleph Null and his Scarab getting wiped out? That plus 3 to Anuphet summon. Suicidal Imospekh and/or Thutmose with melee attack power-up? That another +1-2 to Necron Warrior summon. You can have 5 Necron summon on turn 2 if you just lost Aleph null and his scarab during the opponent's 2nd turn. This strategy allows you to either be defensive and generate Necron warrior summons from passing turns (with Imospekh Overwatch dissuading opponent aggression) or go full aggression and dish as much damage as possible, and anything left will have to deal with Anuphet, his 6 summon, and probably Makhotep since people usually ignore him to deal with everyone else. So you should do everything in your power to keep Anuphet alive, at least until he uses his active and gets the maximum amount of summon. Pretty much no other faction rewards you for losing units, besides BT with Thoriad. All these factors provide Necron with a tremendous amount of tactical flexibility that most other factions wouldn’t even dream of and the reason that Necron should be way higher, if not within the Top 3 of faction war.
It’s a really great breakdown of the Necrons! They are tough in faction wars because if you can deal with the scarabs then they suffer from the same problem as aeldari. They go pop really easily against the heavy hitters. They definitely had a possible place on the top ten but only on 10th place
I played a ton, on all ranks, but mostly on uncommon, and based on the most difficult opponents to go against, the best teams were Tau, Aeldari and Orks. DG was also good, but saw them a lot less. I played each team on casual, but for the ranked matches I started with the Tau. However I couldn't play it well enough, so I switched to BT and they were good, but I struggled against the endless Ork players. Tried Orks myself, they were fun, but being already bored of facing so many Orks, I didn't want to contribute to that horde, so I got the WE out. They worked really, really well for me. I usually did the deepstrike with Angrax and then Wrask next to him. That often allowed even them both to survive the first contact (especially since the opponents often wanted to get to Kharn) and then they started crushing, the cavalry led by Kharn cleared what was left.
Ran Tau from the get-go. Still working to unlock darkstrider, but really, I mostly used him as a meatshield, or would sometimes hold him back to run up and give everyone markerlights before a big turn (or to shut off overwatch by walking into melee). Had a lot of fun with them. Only lost 4 matches before I got my 150/150 and just dished out free wins after that.
That’s super nice of you to give the wins over to others! With the tau, I really enjoyed them as well. They might be turning into one of my favourite factions to play.
I took some time in casual mode to mess around and get a win with each faction. Man the ultramarines were tough to use. So were the dark angels. But the Astra millatara always made for a pretty fun game. Most people had a non uniformly upgraded tau team. So even though they packed a punch, most tau teams i faced; i could take out their team pretty quickly while avoiding revas.
Astra militarum were the ones that I really wanted on the list, I just had such up and down games with them. They would either do well or just get absolutely smashed.
Death Guard and Tau. Calling it now. Orks slightly trailing. EDIT: Yaz requires you to stand next to abraxas. Yaz either does damage _or_ swaps, not both on the same turn. Abraxas is the focal point, for sure, powering up the rest of the team. Admech need their fifth. Vahl is a mech, but doesn't fit the team at all. Vit exists as a sniper analogue, but isn't great without sho. I'd say orks are stronger than BT on average if for no other reason than they soak up powerups better than BTs (snappa with HP, tank with melee hits, and boss or snot with damage). They're close though for sure, but burch doesn't really do much in TA. I get that you're being cheeky (or have just stopped editing whatever script AI starts for you), but Corrodius is the key to not just death guard, but all chaos. His passive is bananas. Pesti is pretty bad though, yeah.
I don’t use any script AI at all! All of it is me. I don’t see the point in it when I can come up with (what I think) is funnier stuff myself! Corrodius and pestillian are indeed really important parts of the team, I just wanted to be a bit funny with them
Yaz moves, attacks and then swaps all as a part of using his active, in one turn tho, n if you already popped off Abraxas as you should have, you'll still have his passive activated, which, in turn, can easily one shot a lot of characters
Glad I did not have to order them, as there is a bit of rock-paper-scissors going on. The top 6 is pretty clear, I might have put the 1000 Sons higher, since they have pretty good answer to the armor of the Death Guard and Black Templars. World Eaters were also really good, and you could argue they belong in the top 5. Orks were just a menace all around
Yeah! This was something I went back and forth on so much. The thousand sons I played a lot because I love them as a faction but they definitely got steamrolled a bit too much for my liking
Written before watching: if that's about Faction TA, I discovered it depends heavily on difficulty level. Playing on Uncommon, orks just dominated. I lost only two battles for non-orcs, one to Death Guards and another one to Tau. Those two are tied for second, but I just killed them with easy except for those two battles. In Epic I saw templars one-hitting a lot if things, however... Didn't stick on that difficulty enough to see how the factions were ranked.
Tau for me. Tried Orks, Necrons, UM's and DG and finally fell on Tau. Nice synergies, Re'vas and Aunshi is a potent combo that protects Shosyl and Shadowsun was great for jumping around the map and picking up power ups.
Yeah I had the most fun with them too surprisingly. I really thought they would struggle but if you played them well then there wasn’t a team that could touch them. The only problem is that you really do need to play them well.
Did I miss the Space Wolves in this top 10 video ? cause I'd put my maxed out Epic Wolves in position 2, just behind the DG. and I'm sure I could take a DG team, depending on the map and starting postions. :) and, as a wolves player, I'd put the Thousand Sons in 3 or 4 with the templars. maybe 5 for the Tau or Orks, followed by the Admechs.
Space wolves was a really interesting one for me. I feel that they were just not in sync with each other in the same way that the Templars and world eaters are. Njal is kinda useless, Arjac doesn’t do enough after he has tossed his hammer to block an active, Ulf and Tjark are too easily focused leaving only Ragnar as the useful one. It’s a tough spot for one of my favourite teams!!
@@DBPreacherTacticus but Arjac's active is really needed only to block Re'vas going on OW, maybe Yaeger... keeping it a bit is a sure late kill. Tjark can disrupt a healer formation, or nerf psykers, and/or assassinate anyone with ragnar's passive (even using his grapple), Ulf and Njal work very well together, also Njal's active is very useful to finish off several resilient characters -> DG. Ragnar is here mostly to activate them all. and even without ragnar, I destroyed Orks, Njal killing 2 characters and the grot tank. they all synergize so well, all their special moves pairs well with someone else's , and depending on the situation, you can always have a 2-char move you can use to destroy a character... maybe I play them way too much ;-)
This week, the newbie tier arena was just overwhelmed with orks. 90% of people played them, and I feel like they are not at all number 4, but easily 1 or 2. At least, they destroy Black Templars in most battles.
Everyone is definitely starting to learn the power of the orcs. They definitely moved up the ranks! I still control them with Tau but the Templars get crushed now!
I used the Aeldari and found it fun, managed to get to the last box with days remaining, it didn't feel good getting two charecters killed by Gulgortz summons though, I think they're a bit too squishy
Played with the BL 80% of the time but agree, its one of the weaker factions. Angrax doesnt do much, too slow and the teleport is rather useless. Although he will most likely kill with his active. Archi is too weak, he dies by looking at him. his spawns are too weak compared to most other spawns. Volk again, too slow, not tanky enough. Haarken needs time to get going and also will be killed easily. A bad don is probably the best of the bunch, somewhat tanky and his active can hurt. with his buff applied his colleagues can do decent damage. All in all they dont bring much to the table. unfortunate, as they are my fav faction (besides Admech)
Yeah I always want the black legion to do well but I totally agree with your assessment. Isn’t it strange that abaddon, who is one of the jokes of the game in terms of what he should be, was one of the strongest here? Let’s hope they get a bit more powerful in the future!
I thought Aeldari would stomp. Yeah they’re squishy but they have all the tools. 2 OW snipers, 2 hard hitting melee combatants, a psyker who makes you feel the pain when you get close and a great buffer.
Since the buff Gulgorts become an unchain beast Now the turret always attacks even if gulgorts attack at distance And the Orks he summon are pretty good
Played gold only and I was using wolves most of the time and liked it - I cant say they are THE best, but Id actualy rank them top3 after Deathguard and Tau (IMHO Sho is main star of the team not Revas). I also loved to see orks on the oponents side for some reason even tho guild chat praised them.
Wow, you did awesome with the wolves then! I tried them a lot and just felt they were lacking real useful synergy and were a bit too squishy. Awesome job though!
I liked even Njal whos active hit any frozen hex on the map and with Ulf (and eventualy Arjacs block) it was possible to cover very large area - that bogged down especially orks (as they are very melee focused) very often so I had one turn of 5v2(3). Also worked fine on Revas that was stuned so Aunshis refresh was not usefull and either next turn stun from Arjac or waiting till hammer of instakill is fully charged
@@DBPreacherTacticus I use him all the time, only bronze2 26/17, but very useful for certain Lightning battles and others, quests, ability dmg missions (yea I know there’s better but it works with what I got, lol)
Fun fact if anybody doesn’t know, Brother Jaeger + Ability Dmg / Melee Kills Missions = Win , just find a battle vs grots or scarabs, set up, skip turns and finish the mission for 6/10 energy, your choice 😉
I think the orks should be #1. I used them for the event, and had 100% win rate (just played till I filled the progress to last chest). The only time I almost lost, was when fighting other orks.
@@DBPreacherTacticus Yeah, that's fair. Also 15 games is not enough of a sample size for me to draw a conclusion. And based just on machup, I can see dg and templars being a pain for orks, because of low pen on attacks.
I dident lose one singel match. And I played Aeldari. Not a singel match. But I played on the lower tiers of power so maby it was not so skilled player I played against. And I dident play all tokens. Last day I dident play at all. But 100% wins and Im a noob...
Disagree on Eldar. As it is a very rock paper scissors mode, when eldar go against Nurgle boys or Black Templars, or anyone in fact armored and balled up, they will eat through them like a yesterdays chili through my underpants. Entire faction is nothing but 80-100% ignoring armor, multi-unit targeting and buffing to the insane levels team. Number 1 in my books.
I had them higher in my list and then I played with them a tooon and honestly I couldn’t buy a win with them! It’s great to hear you did manage them well!
The Black Legion is so bad it's not even on the list? I actually won like 2/3 of battles (epic cap) with them. Obviously it's a huge drop from 95% winrate I'm used to.
Wow this was one of the best i saw so far. Good work loved it. Would have hoped for all the factions to receive this review but i will take what i can get.

Necron too squishy.
It sounds like you played a very smart tournament! Good job with the world eaters. I think I need to play a chunk more of them next time!
I also hit the casual with each faction until I got at least 1 win. Dark Angels were the worst for me, it was very difficult to get a win with them.
@@mikaoljakka2013 yeah dark angels might've been the worst haha
That Radiohead reference for the AdMech team made me smile.
I love when people get the subtle references ^^
Corrodius and pestillian are indeed really important parts of the team, I just wanted to be a bit funny with them
Pestillian with meele Boost is Saitama OPM
Pestillian is insane in TA, if you slap any hit power up he starts to slap everyone with direct damage.
@@MultillisionI bet having that health boost would be crazy as well due to putrid explosion being based on his HP stat
Yaz moves, attacks and then swaps all as a part of using his active, in one turn tho, n if you already popped off Abraxas as you should have, you'll still have his passive activated, which, in turn, can easily one shot a lot of characters
Stunned that Guard missed out. I had so much success with them.
I def need to do an update to this one at some point, it’s gonna keep changing
Yeah I do mention that
Regarding Tau: you have to be in 1 tile of shadowsun or 2 of the command drone, not 2 of the character herself
Wow, I actually went and read her skill to check before making the video and I still got it wrong 😬
@@DBPreacherTacticus they were busted at Common level, idk about higher tiers, but I went 28-2 as Tau
"doo doo dee dude" lmao I did not expect that
😂😂😂
Yeah that was my issue. I really wanted to make them work but they just couldn’t handle the beef of other teams
Comment for the comment gods! Another fun vid!
Thank you brother ❤️❤️
1:43 : Do I ear Calendis instead of Certus ?
Yeah that’s a booboo
Yeah me too, it was one of my favourites going into it. Sadly they just don’t have enough power to sustain through longer fights
Since the buff
Gulgorts become an unchain beast
Now the turret always attacks even if gulgorts attack at distance
And the Orks he summon are pretty good
Isn’t it great to see him turn up in matches finally and not be useless!
DB Preacher cutting loose with the jokes this video.
It had to happen eventually 😂
Deaths guard is strong if used right, and give right character right buff best for them.
100% agree!
I played Aeldari on common and they really seemed to hold their own against the other factions.
They did and I loved playing them but it was very difficult to close out matches once the opposition got on top of you
Buff Dark Angles
I’m with you brother! Let’s hope the last character is out of this world
DA need a good fifth and really big buffs to Asmodai.
I presume necrons are number one? Or near the top at least. They are so durable and spawny, they are powering me through the game
You’ll have to watch and find out!
Necrons were the kings of common. Not sure how they stacked up in higher ratings. People tend to not use their spawning combo's well enough.
I struggled even at common with them!
When you do a video like this again, you should have a picture of the character you're talking about so us new players know.
I really thought about doing that as well but ran out of time. It’s a great point and I will add it next time! Thanks for the feedback ❤️
I’m sure this has been said already, but I’m pretty sure everyone knows you ment Certus, not calandus 😂
I’ve not played with certus in such a long time I forgot his name 😂😂
@@DBPreacherTacticus I use him all the time, only bronze2 26/17, but very useful for certain Lightning battles and others, quests, ability dmg missions (yea I know there’s better but it works with what I got, lol)
Fun fact if anybody doesn’t know, Brother Jaeger + Ability Dmg / Melee Kills Missions = Win , just find a battle vs grots or scarabs, set up, skip turns and finish the mission for 6/10 energy, your choice 😉
Can't wait 👍
I bet on black legion/world eaters/orks
Even my Heart is and always be with the eldars
Let’s see who finishes where!!!
Yep, DG was the OP faction in the recent TA.
Let’s see how the next one goes!
I think the orks should be #1. I used them for the event, and had 100% win rate (just played till I filled the progress to last chest). The only time I almost lost, was when fighting other orks.
I think a bunch of people would say the same for their factions! The Orks were def strong but I beat them consistently with tau, dg and Templars
@@DBPreacherTacticus Yeah, that's fair. Also 15 games is not enough of a sample size for me to draw a conclusion. And based just on machup, I can see dg and templars being a pain for orks, because of low pen on attacks.
WAAAAGH carried me to many victories!
Ye know, I was thinking about trying to shout waaaagh in the video but I was sure I would let down all ork heroes so I didn’t try it 😂
BELLABABIES MENTIONED LET'S GOOOOOOO
Wooooooohooooooo!!! You are a part of the channel as much as anyone ❤️
Aww thanks, that's so kind of you to say 😁
I dident lose one singel match. And I played Aeldari. Not a singel match. But I played on the lower tiers of power so maby it was not so skilled player I played against. And I dident play all tokens. Last day I dident play at all.
But 100% wins and Im a noob...
You are not a noob if you won all your matches! I certainly did not 😂
.. but after the Rave Ork they've certainly grown on me :) that's why you need to wash with antifungal shampoo after every ork rave party :)
Haha indeed!
Death Guard and Black Legion mix!
Maybe!
Orks were Imba after a while I learned to deal with using thousands sons Wich we're also imba
There was definitely a bit of rock paper scissors going on this time, which made for a super cool tournament! 🏟️
Calandis? I think you mean Certus
I’ve not played with certus in such a long time I forgot his name 😂😂
Disagree on Eldar. As it is a very rock paper scissors mode, when eldar go against Nurgle boys or Black Templars, or anyone in fact armored and balled up, they will eat through them like a yesterdays chili through my underpants. Entire faction is nothing but 80-100% ignoring armor, multi-unit targeting and buffing to the insane levels team. Number 1 in my books.
I had them higher in my list and then I played with them a tooon and honestly I couldn’t buy a win with them! It’s great to hear you did manage them well!
Death Guard reign supreme !!!!!!
❤️❤️
Kicks the snow pups 😢
Njal letting the team down
Someone tried to say Deathguard suck... i was like? Huh?
Def not!
1:42 CALANDIS
I know right 😣
Black templars all the way!!!!! I just lost 3 or 4 of the matches i did!!! I got the last chess on the 2nd days start
They were absolutely solid weren’t they? Well done of the chest!!
Patch BL !!!!!! This is stoopid
They def need some love! Along with most of the older teams!
The Black Legion is so bad it's not even on the list? I actually won like 2/3 of battles (epic cap) with them. Obviously it's a huge drop from 95% winrate I'm used to.
It’s tough in the top ten but they were one of the weakest. Well done if you were winning with them!
8:57 😏
Lol
world eaters all the way!! for the blood god!
They were damn good. Macer definitely is a fun brutal partner
984 Nitzsche Knolls
Stop
So much fluff words. 😢
Is that good or bad?
