I got the Earthbound game in my hands about 2 years ago, my mother was working in a hospital and told me that her ward was being cleaned and old games were being thrown away (she worked in the children's ward) He said that there was an old Nintendo and some games. The next day I went to their trash and dug out three bags full of old Nintendo games and consoles. There was 5 gameboys, Snes and Some games in the original cardboard boxes super Mario, Kirby and Earthbound I couldn't believe my eyes it was in almost perfect condition except for a few scratches and some stains
Good on Ryan for not only spending that much, but waiting until later in the day! Earthbound actually never came sealed; but slabbed is basically the same thing. You want to play it ! Would be in the “Qualified” category of VGA
Ryan is the man. Ohhhh yeah I knew it never came shrinkwrapped, but is there no way to tell if it’s “new”? Not my area of expertise at all haha. Still gotta get a mini mario off you bro!
@@cakehoarder it’s similar to games that never came sealed like Famicom or Super Famicom. They look for folds or whiting in the tabs, you can tell if it’s never been opened. For sure!
I got that game for my bday in sept of 1995. My sister has the SNES now, and my nephew loved the earthbound strategy guide when he was young. Don't have the box anymore, but the game and book still exists, just in used condition. Oddity needs to be finished and released before I die
Earthbound is a really interesting gem! It is an amazing RPG! The Super Nintendo had a lot of really good rpgs! Chrono Trigger Secret of Mana! They are really good games! 😊
I'm just wondering how it took you this long if you've been questing to get Earthbound for 28 years. Earthbound came out 29 years ago. Okay, so maybe you were too young to afford the game or something, but back then it wasn't considered the holy grail game to add to a collection, it was just the cool new game, in fact upon its release it was practically a no name who cares game, it took a while for the game to become a cult classic outside of Japan. What happened that prevented you from getting this game before the hyper inflation of retro games started? Surely at some point you could have gotten the complete game before the price went up to 3000usd. A feel there's a whole story that sounds more interesting to explore because clearly there were constant road blocks in your life that preventing you from getting this game all this time. Did you just forget or lost interest in the game for a long time so you missed out on getting the game before the hyper inflation swept third party gaming?

I’d say because the games can sometimes be objectively very good. And because of the rarity/collector value. Many adults still play games - new or old, for the first time, and enjoy them. You don’t have to just like what you liked when you are a kid. You can keep exploring new games, although I doubt you have the time you would have had as a kid

Every time I see that Luigi I think of the video where it's covered in dirt and the dude washes it. 🤚
Cool N64 paper Mario back ground. I bought the cart not too long ago and just beat it. Those cake mix grinds are worth it. Top 10 64 games.

I've never tried to haggle for anything here in the United States at any sort of show/expo. Never seen it either. Must be regional.
Doesnt hurt to ask!

@@cakehoarder yeah
why does everything have to be brutal? For the views?
I dont get why kids these days want games they never grew up with. You look young did you grow up with super nintendo?.
older games are (mostly) better. i own a gamecube and some games, but i was born after it, along with a wii
@@greatsteamreal Man I feel old I was born in 1983 before NES was released in America.
bro he's close to my age I'm sure. I'm 30. I grew up with NES as one of my first consoles.
