I once made a joke saying “I wish I could learn Latin to pretend to cast curses on people” and he said, and I quote, “y’know we don’t appreciate the racist remarks” and when I asked how it was racist and he, I sh*t you not, said “if you don’t know how it’s offensive then you don’t deserve me telling you” I had to theorize with other people about what he meant, I still wonder how I was racist against the Roman Empire to this day

I have nerve issues. When I'm tickled, it registers in my brain as pain. I would have been livid for someone continuing trying to tickle me after asking them not to.

    • @OverlordZeroULTIMA

I can't even bother people touching my shoulder (no nerve pain, just don't like it) so I can't imagine how that must be for you. ;3; I'd be ticked as well, if simply tempted to swing them away and yell "KNOCK IT OFF!".
But yeah, I really hate when people just think that because they believe it's "being friendly" that other people would suddenly become comfortable with it and accept it. Tbh, some people just don't like being touched for multiple reasons...Can be nerve pain, can be paranoia, can be just because they want personal space.
Really irked that the person didn't seem to understand that the one asking her just didn't want her to do that. :/ Like, great, be friendly! But...Do it in a way that makes her comfortable? Or maybe not because idk...Tickling to me isn't quite "friendly"...I find it to be more than "friendship" if it's so constant, tbh...

The recent Pokemon card tournament where a 17 year old kid got nervous when asked his pronouns and he nervously laughed the answer out because he had never been on tv before in front of millions and blanked on the correct third term (his).
The judge immediately took this as LGBTQ hate and banned him from the tournament. Without even asking the kid why he was laughing. It was horrible.
The kid had spent hundreds of dollars to travel there, including hotel stays, meals and not to mention the investment in the cards themselves.
    All gone.
Because a judge refused to hear the kids reasoning and took personal offense to a really simple misunderstanding.

I was working at this one job and the topic of best friends came up. My best friend has mixed ethnic parents. Mom is Asian, Dad is African American. He has never had a problem being referred to as "Blasian" because that is litteraly what he is. I said this to a bunch of people at the same time, several of which were African American and they thought it was cool and fair. I got pulled into the office for a write up because my boss, a Caucasian, found it offensive and said I was being racist against my co-workers. When I explained I was talking about my best friend, even showing pictures of him, I was told to drop it because, even though I may not have been racist, I shouldn't talk about people race behind their backs. Really?

    • @OverlordZeroULTIMA
      @OverlordZeroULTIMA ปีที่แล้ว +4

I admit, I never knew the term "Blasian" was even real! I heard it in a comedy video so didn't think it was a real thing. Since I'd never heard of it, I never bothered to look it up since I wouldn't know how to spell it, ahaha! I don't even remember what vid it was...I know I still like the comedian, though.
Genuine thanks for confirming that it is real, and even moreso, what it means! :3 Plus I agree, it's not racist, especially if you're not using it as a way to offend the person - which you already said you weren't.

The Halloween one happened to us. Had a few decorations, nothing crazy. One was a plastic arm with a chain on it hanging from the ceiling with a bit of crudly painted red on the end, like a severed arm. Women comes in and absolutely loses it on us because its "offensive" and "premotes slavery". We told her to leave and she did while yelling. Next thing we know we got a call from the owner of the land saying we have to take down all the offensive decorations because someone called and complained. Found out she had gone into every store on the block to complain about the decorations and had gotten them all taken down. Except for one place that was fully owned by the owner of the store. Dude went crazy with decorations after that. Women went as far as to get friends to protest outside the shop because he was premoting the "dark arts, satanic worship and witchcraft". She left after he told her he would call the cops for harassing his customers and staff. She still hung around the area.

-Pikachu's tail isn't a thunderbolt. It's very OBVIOUSLY the Nazi SS symbol.
-The Poliwag lines swirls look like those used to hypnotize people. And by hypnotize we mean brainwash for the devil.
-Hypno is creepy and steals kids. This part is true, but he was showing off a picture of Clefairy the entire time.
-The cards are made by Wizards of the Coast (no they fucking weren't). That company made Magic the Gathering. MtG uses colored energy to power cards. The little elemental symbols mean that WotC is promoting witchcraft to kids.
-The anime writes its characters with personality flaws. Showing kids personality flaws will teach them those flaws are okay.
It was the most asinine speech I have seen any one human being give.

When I was in kindergarten, the teacher asked us to say things that puppies do. We had to raise our hand to answer. I raised my hand twice. I planed to answer with "Play" and "Eat" but she called on two other people who used those answers. I lowered my hand, not having anything else to say, but the teacher called on me anyway and was insistent that I answered. I tried my best and said they pee pee and I got time out for the rest of the day.

I go to baseball practice and we practice at a park 0.2 miles away from the school that goes across a 45 mph highway and a 50 mph highway with no streetlights and no sidewalks (we live in the middle of the desert in Southern Arizona) so it was too unsafe for us to walk there so we need to use a bus. Just today- TODAY- I had gotten on the bus back to the school like, 5 minutes early, and at one point the bus driver told me in a mad voice "Get off the bus, they're having a group meet." I was so fucking pissed off when she said that.

I had a manager who closed the facility 30 minutes before closing time because she wanted to have enough time to count the money without making mistakes. She got mad at me because I closed at the actual closing time or later if a customer walked in the door. I only worked at that location on Saturdays and we were only open for 4 hours that day. I once forgot to stamp the back of a check for the bank deposit and she used that as an excuse to close early so she wouldn’t make mistakes “like some people did.” Once, I was off by $0.10 and I realized it during off of work hours and told her manager because we were friends and she told me to see if lazy manager noticed, newsflash, she didn’t. Guess the extra 30 minutes she gave herself for closing to ensure accuracy didn’t help at all.

As an adult I was visiting my married younger brother and his three kids. We were seated at a picnic table in front of a hamburger place and he was asking everyone what kind they wanted. When he got to me I told him, and asked him to ask them to cut it in half (they were really big). It was like I flipped a switch, he face got ugly and he started screaming at me, swearing and demeaning me in front of his wife and children, everyone who was seated around us and the people walking by. It was an absolutely mortifying experience. It went on and on, he just wouldn't stop. I didn't say a word. After all that nothing was said to me by anyone, they ate their hamburgers. I left very early the next morning. There was never an apology or acknowledgment of what had happened. I never figured out what was so awful about asking someone to cut a sandwich in half.

During the pandemic, I was pretty conscientious about wearing a mask. Besides it being the law at the time, I have emphysema. I was working as an HVAC service technician. I was sent to a house where a older husband and wife were running a daycare. The husband adamant that I take off my mask before working on his AC. He said he didn’t trust masked people and wanted to see my whole face. When I refused, he called my boss and demanded he order me to take off the mask. My boss refused. The husband then asked if my boss could send someone who would work without a mask. My boss said that we had a technician who would work mask less, but he wouldn’t be able to send that technician for a week because we were very busy. The husband relented and let me do the work. Technically, the husband, the wife, and any adult coming into the home when daycare kids were present were required to wear a mask.
