Everyone's talking about the opening but that outro chase footage was really sick! Gotta appreciate the skills from both pilots there to keep so much of the quad in frame.
It’s so funny, I’ve just been researching this all day today myself. As I’m in the market for a new flight controller and ESC for a new build. And I come across this video, which explains everything I learnt today from all the reading lol. That’s good to know that it actually sunk in. As what I learnt is there is no point going past a certain point (I don’t know what that point is, but I’m sure the betaflight developers have figured it out) because it add more noise. Then you may have to add more filtering, which in turn adds more latency than you even gained from increasing dshot and the pid loop and gyro. At least that’s what I’ve gathered so far. As this is all way beyond my knowledge base. Great video, always great videos. Love the humour you provide, keep it up. And thank you!
Yes sir, this exactly the point. Two times faster means you divide latency by half, but you can divide only certain amount of times till the difference becomes close to zero.
I love his interpretation of super sampling and how the esc keeps getting redundant data packets 😂 and of course how it gets tired of that shit which is completely understandable 😅
Intro was straight 🔥!! Second where can I get my own Limon shirt? 3rd fantastic informative video I learned alot. Im still using Dshot 600 mostly never jumped up to the DShot 1200 train. 🤟👏👍
I've been running 2.67Khz PID loop and DSHOT 300 on F411 boards with 750hz GLPF2 for ages to keep processor usage down. Can't tell a difference, shocking! I had a conversation with Mark Spatz and the general consensus was that a 2Khz PID loop and DSHOT 300 was more than fast enough for anything. However, running a 1000Hz Gyro Lowpass 2 filter was necessary at 2Khz to help prevent aliasing. If it flies fast just fly it and have fun. I love to tinker as much as the next masochist quad nerd. You can braid your motors wires or something. It's more productive and looks nice. Great video Ivan!
@@IvanEfimovLimon I would love to see that blind test. I showed my wife how to set PID loop and had her blind test me. I could not consistently tell a difference. All else being equal and I fly 20+ packs every day the weather allows. So, I kind of feel like my finger is on the pulse if you know what I mean.
@@IvanEfimovLimon Yes when switched from 2k glpf2 1000hz, to 2.67k glpf2 was switched to 750hz. At 4k glpf2 was switched to 500hz and at 8k glpf2 was disabled.

Fun video going over dshot. I'm a shit pilot, so under betaflight, I listen to Bardwell . I plug in his recommendations and go rip. For my kiss Ultra, I run dshot 2400, because Fedorov said we should . And it seems to work very well. 👍❤️😎
Why not allow pid loop for 32k, to process dshot telemetry more often? Does dshot speed affect telemetry frequency? In 32k pidloop no new gyro data, no new rc command data, but new dshot telemetry data. It can adjust rpm filters more precicley for excample..
Dshot delay is more like an equivalent of faze delay, not a control link delay. No matter how high is a delay of your control link, your quad tune wont be affected by that(forget about ff filtering), but if the latency of your filter faze goes up your tune will be fucked. Same effect is there when increasing the responsivenes of motors, by changing dshot protocols (yeah may be its not so vivid but).
Well DShot delay is being added to the total delay between your physical stick move and motor reaction. And it's being added to the total delay between external force on the drone and motor reaction.
@@fpv_am I think they all matter, especially for racing or hight performance freestyle. Faster rc link speed is just more pleasure to fly than 50hz, for example.

Have watched so many of your videos in past few days. Great content. I know you have videos of blackbox and filter stuff but i am a true idiot and i couldn`t fully understand what exactly and were to tune in filter tab. Therefore wondering if you could take a "noisy' drone and walk through how to filter tune. What you see in the Throttle graph, what noise you see and which filter exactly and ho much to set. like a true retard proof guide? You see a noice at ~350hz, what that is,what filter and how much to set it?
The problem is all noises are so different and they have different reasons... 350hz noise if it's around same frequency should be easily addressed with dynamic notch, if you add one more.

2400 ÷ 4 gotcha. Similar to a car audio amp that is wired either in series or parallel, hence you can double the amount of amps drawn. Thanks brotha! 🍻
ok ok. if you just switch the dshot value, it will not do it. you should use the most lw prop out there and make a complete pid tuning to get the lowest delay possible. after you did this, you will still notice, the benefit is in the .5 to 1ms range :-) the system and mainly the prop and its weight is the limitation of the system response. you cant brake the prop weight fast enough to the next desired rpm, this will be never possible, with prop weight >0. i like these videos, but .... maybe no one can use dshot 1200 for better results.
