He's not too funny on here, but his stand-up is HILARIOUS. My dad and I caught it on comedy central a couple years ago and we were literally rolling on the floor laughing.
Russ was supposed to have an interview with Andrew Sachs (Manuel from Fawlty Towers), but Sachs didn't pick up, so Russell got his answerphone. Jonathan Ross (who was a guest on his show) then went overboard & left a message saying that Russell had slept with Sachs's daughter (which he had). Then they both went a bit mental, left two more voicemails, and joked about Sachs killing himself. Initially there were only two complaints, but the The Mail got hold of the story & all hell broke loose.
Indeed. I saw a commercial for this years', and they're not on it. Sean Lock, Michael McIntyre, and Dara O'Briain are the three comedians (with Jimmy Carr hosting, again). There might be more, and Alan Carr comes to mind, as well but he's on everything these days, so I might well be wrong.
If you see Jimmy Carr on QI (Quite Interesting), then I think you'll enjoy him much more. It seems like on this show, he is reading his jokes off the teleprompter. He does much better with spontaneous bits.
Do you get the feeling that every year, something has to be burnt? I mean, 2007- Cutty Sark. 2008- That seaside thingamebob. Jesus, it was on the news today, why can't I remember the name? Anyway, seriously, a lot of burning.
Noel "Eh we put its unusuall cos it starred a talking dragon. I don't think that's the right answer is it..?" Jimmy "I like they way there's, there kinda like wrinkled bits of paper like you really worked on that, that first draft just isn't good enough we need to come up with a better answer." Russell "A talking cat and then a lying skeleton a tweed vampire and then we thought it's a talking dragon." Noel "It's obvious, it's been staring us in the face." HAHA
"Can I say something about the Cutty Sarc?" "Yes you can if you like," "WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT!" I LOVE David Mitchell (Not as much as Russell and Noel though :3)
