When your toddler is in the phase of "wanting to help with everything", let them.
And yes they might create more mess, and you might take longer to prepare your dinner but i promise you it's worth it. Letting them take part give them confidence and make them feel valuable. And yes of course they will make a mistake but that's how we learn isn't it? If you're always worried about the mess they gonna make, you unintentionally teach them to fear failure.
Honestly, the toughest thing is trying my best not to step in and finish it myself when she is struggling to do it, even though i know the less i help the more independent she will be. Because more often than not, they need our affirmation and support not solution.
The next time they want to help, let them. And let them do it themself as much as you can. Coz let's be honest, we aren't gonna be there for them forever. ❤️
