I don't mind long videos, but these kind where nothing happens for a million years admittedly aren't as interesting. That said, they make for good background noise
The game needs an update to limit how many troops can be on one territory so this doesn’t happen. Or at some point progressive trade-ins hit a limit of 100
Exactly this, I like the long videos I enjoy like 30 - an hour long videos because it makes for good content to watch while I do house work. However watching this whole doing dishes isn't particularly thrilling however I usually end up watching all of it anyway!😂
I appreciate your videos, but if it's caps would prefer a different map than classic. Bigger maps are less likely to stalemate because of snowballs. I also like variety, so different settings than caps would be great unless you want to rank up, which I assume you don't care about. Good video and well played.
(Expert) Bots only split if there is another enemy territory next to where they attacked from that they didn't attack. If you just hit in a line, the bot can take it back without splitting, so it's better to spread out or split in 2 directions so there is more chance the bot splits.
This should be the last of the long risk videos and future videos should be much faster paced! In the future when I end up in capital mode matches vs patient players who want to spend hours stacking caps I'm just going to leave the match and find a different match to use for the video. (plus I'm editing for this channel now too which should also help)
I recommend that if a player is stalling the game, go ahead and just report them. It is just a report at the end of the day and if they accrue too many, they probably need to stop.
I actually enjoyed the non-edited stuff a bit more. Obviously, that's personal preference, but I can understand you wanting to edit down the videos, especially ones like this one.
honestly, I cant imagine sitting there card trading on a classic map for 2 hours to be fun for you and personally I love the shorter world domination videos especially on the europe map. Less than 20 minutes and novice to intermediate gameplay is my favorite. If you really care about your rank then keep doing this otherwise I'd rather see you do what I said above! Thanks for the consistent quality content CG, I watched the whole video!
I think you should try fixed card bonus, it's actually, counter-intuitively, less likely to result in long stalemates, as holding territory and getting good troop income lets you snowball.
All games have elements to learn from. How to cap hold, when to push, when not to push, when to scout, how to scout! I, personally, prefer to watch people play against people who are higher ranked as you learn from mistakes (yours and theirs).
I am happy with every game I have ever seen you play. The only thing's I asked for were to show the game info at the beginning (which you still do), show the player info at the end (which you still do), and don't edit. Of course, this is the first video on this channel that you have edited. I have to say, I didn't mind nearly as much as I thought I would. It was very unobtrusive. I didn't feel like I was missing anything, and you kept the narrative of the overall game. Thank you and good luck!
Yeah I dunno, it shows the full scope of the game. I enjoyed watching it. I think if *every* match was like that it might get old, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
I like the longer games. Your strategy talk is interesting enough to keep my attention, even if there’s not much happening in the game itself. Obviously not *all* I want, but fine for variety’s sake.
I think it's good that you're now editing (shortening a little which is enough for me) the videos here too, as long as it's not too much effort for you 💪🏼 And that you think before every step. But besides Capital, I also like new maps like Germany and of course with Blizzards, because that shakes things up again 🙀 so I’d be happy to see on this map 😊
Honestly, i really enjoyed this video as just background noise while I work. Especially on this map, where i got to see the caps and then just listened to the rest of the video, i was able to know what, and where you where doing most of the game, without having ro watch just by using intuition into your vagueties. So i liked this form of content a lot.
I know you've said previously that you might start to upload these videos unedited due to the time it takes, but I just want you to know that the editing really helps me with the pacing. Otherwise I'd have to constantly press the "right" button to skip ahead while nothing is happening and you don't have any commentary. How you edit these videos honestly makes me feel hooked to the action for an hour at a time, which is impressive, since I have ADHD. The only other content creators I can focus on for that length are Vaatividya and Leutin09!
with ADHD brain myself, love these longer videos. They're edited just quickly enough so that there's never a dull moment, even when nothing's happening gameplay wise. Just the talk of strategy and seeing small moves is interesting enough
I can see how this can get old but this was my first time watching this kind of strategy so it was cool. I probably wouldn't prefer too many of these, but a few are fine
I personally enjoy these kinds of matches, I grew up with 8+ hour RISK and Monopoly matches. The JOY of strat games is playing long con, and commanding troops as a symphony.
I should add, so long as you go for the win, the game will al ways be enjoyable, playing for keeps is what makes things fun. I don't like games when everyone just forfeits; certainly not too quickly.
I like the long videos, I'd like to think you're slowly fighting better and better players, and I know from experience that we'll played risk games take a long time.
I think for the including certain players you should do whatever you think is more fun or more entertaining. If cap stacking is making you rage, then I think you should stop queuing with those types of players.
I just noticed, when you yoinked Red's cap the leaderboard went up to 2/5 so basically, so long as nobody has a cap stolen, whoever yoinks a cap after T3 lets everyone know exactly when it got taken.
I love the long videos. Seeing how more experienced players play is nice. Then surprise surprise....beginner, beginner, beginner. They must be watching Risk videos on youtube too and copying the strats they see.
Yeah I've been really disappointed by the capital game mode. It sounds great on paper but it just plays out nearly the same as standard. Thought it would create an almost certain long game, but ends up just being gimmicky.
I like watching long videos like this one. It takes skill to play this game and playing with the Grandmasters displays that. However, to accommodate a larger audience, I recommend a combination of sped-up and real-time segments that highlight different campaign aspects. Minute details can be fed with optional subtitles. Further more, recording a voice-over this proposed footage style would serve to make it a more cinematic experience.
Back in the 1970s and 80s a lot of people played Risk. They'd even gamble on it. There are some very good players out there they may have just found this version on the computer. Never trust a beginner. My Uncle played a lot and used similar tactics.
Do not limit it to novices, this provides more entertainment than some quick nonsensical 10 minute match. This holds more strategic value, it may seem.
When I played risk I started games after work (8 in the morning) and when I cane home after a 1 hour comute I was still playing. I often played 6+ hour games and became grandmaster after a few weeks, top 1000 I think. Have not played for a few years since I don't like quick games and I don't have time for long games any more.
I dislike the quick cuts compared to the unedited version. It's easier to just put it on higher speed normally, whereas the quick cuts make it a little disorienting. It's long either way, cuts like this just seem like more effort for a worse experience. If it was significant editing, it might be worth it, but that would make these into a different type of video entirely.
47:00 Personally i'd rather let the bot bash someone as it's it's more likely the bot will attack at random while if you attack, there's much more chance, it seemed as intentionally bashing into one person to game ruin them.
I like longer matches if the other players are good. And like someone else said maybe different maps but then it might also be harder to find better players
I love them. I watch most of them. However, due to their length, most won't like them. It's fit for a side channel, so I don't think you need to change it. I want the option to watch an hour+ long cap video as well as the shorter world dominations.
I don't mind these vids, you could do a mixture though, or so there are more shorter vids than these? cos these are good for learning about higher level tactics.
I think the shorter videos have less value as the game is over to quickly to build anything important and enjoyable, unless something odd happens of course
I don't mind long videos, but these kind where nothing happens for a million years admittedly aren't as interesting. That said, they make for good background noise
Yeah happens a lot in capital gamemodes
The game needs an update to limit how many troops can be on one territory so this doesn’t happen. Or at some point progressive trade-ins hit a limit of 100
That good “grinding in Minecraft” background noise
Exactly this, I like the long videos I enjoy like 30 - an hour long videos because it makes for good content to watch while I do house work. However watching this whole doing dishes isn't particularly thrilling however I usually end up watching all of it anyway!😂
I agree
There is a slight issue i have with a long match/video like this. I have now been on the toilet for +50min thanks to this.
😂😂😂😂
Gross
real
😂
Erm, just pause the vid bro
once in a while i find this long matches very interesting, the strategy and trying to figure the other players out is very good
I appreciate your videos, but if it's caps would prefer a different map than classic. Bigger maps are less likely to stalemate because of snowballs. I also like variety, so different settings than caps would be great unless you want to rank up, which I assume you don't care about. Good video and well played.

Nerrrrrd but thanks for the information
I'm proud to be a nerd. Thanks.
Can you give me information on the bots of different levels?
This should be the last of the long risk videos and future videos should be much faster paced!
In the future when I end up in capital mode matches vs patient players who want to spend hours stacking caps I'm just going to leave the match and find a different match to use for the video. (plus I'm editing for this channel now too which should also help)
i really like long risk capital videos. if you get into game like this please post it even if if u lose its still better than short matches
I don't like long matches because I get bored
I don't mind the long video
I recommend that if a player is stalling the game, go ahead and just report them. It is just a report at the end of the day and if they accrue too many, they probably need to stop.

CG, I loved this. I learned a bunch of strategy. Thanks for explaining every step and all the different possibilities you are thinking of.
I think you should try fixed card bonus, it's actually, counter-intuitively, less likely to result in long stalemates, as holding territory and getting good troop income lets you snowball.
i dont mind the longer games like this its good to have in the background

10:44 "If someone plays well you are also forced to play well if, you want to win, unfortunately"
It's clearly dull and doesn't express much skill (you mostly have quite decisions to make). It's optimal play but it's not really playing well
I really love it. Don't mind the long videos since you have a soothing voice. Which makes it more interesting.
I like the long videos, this is one of the channels I go to when I want to just watch something without looking for the next video.
We enjoy longer videos, period.
Honestly, i really enjoyed this video as just background noise while I work. I enjoy games where you're enjoying yourself. So, you pick.
I like some long videos every once in a while instead of all of them being quick action packed matches.
I can see how this can get old but this was my first time watching this kind of strategy so it was cool. I probably wouldn't prefer too many of these, but a few are fine

i love the long form content on somthing that i understand and enjoy
I find the long vids fun to watch every now and then, just don’t only have super long drawn out vids
If you would prefer limiting it to just below masters or whatever, that’s fine, but I enjoy watching long matches just as much. ❤❤❤
You should always cap in the most mobile areas, or positions that are lined up for potential eliminations in the endgame.
41:32 what is the song playing right now?
While its not enjoyable to watch long games like this your commentary certainly makes up for it
i like the longer stuff, but not when the enemies just end up leaving XD
I like the long videos, I'd like to think you're slowly fighting better and better players, and I know from experience that we'll played risk games take a long time.
im fine with longer games unedited
but games like this one defiantly benefit from the editing you gave it
I liked the long form, gave more insight into long play games which happen from time to time.
I think for the including certain players you should do whatever you think is more fun or more entertaining. If cap stacking is making you rage, then I think you should stop queuing with those types of players.
I don't mind long videos either honestly i love seeing these big numbers
you could play non-progressive capitals for the strategy to change, maybe it makes games quicker too
Short or long game doesn't matter to me I enjoy both
I just noticed, when you yoinked Red's cap the leaderboard went up to 2/5 so basically, so long as nobody has a cap stolen, whoever yoinks a cap after T3 lets everyone know exactly when it got taken.
I love the long videos. Seeing how more experienced players play is nice. Then surprise surprise....beginner, beginner, beginner. They must be watching Risk videos on youtube too and copying the strats they see.
I like this, your commentary makes up for any idleness.
this is the first video I ever watched from you and I find the long video interesting as the test of patience is very interesting
I like these long games, but not when they all bot out. It is intriguing gameplay up to that point.
I would really prefer more quick, interesting matches to binge, but its up to you! Thanks for making the vids!!!
Personally, no grandmasters but masters and experts sounds hella fun.
I still don't know how he won all of a sudden, incredible 🎉
Risk, the game where taking risks means you lose
Seems like bad game design when the best play is to just stack troops on one capital and wait for other players to get bored and leave
Yeah I've been really disappointed by the capital game mode. It sounds great on paper but it just plays out nearly the same as standard. Thought it would create an almost certain long game, but ends up just being gimmicky.
I’ll watch any video you post dude 😂
I like watching long videos like this one. It takes skill to play this game and playing with the Grandmasters displays that. troop numbers go brrrrr
16:00 black couldnt fortify back? So their cap is undefended?
The play style here feels similar to the Cold War, both sides stacking infinitely because an attack would spell doom for both sides.
The nice long videos are okay at times. I wouldn’t want to see it become the standard but they are nice weekend treats, heh
Back in the 1970s and 80s a lot of people played Risk. They'd even gamble on it. There are some very good players out there they may have just found this version on the computer. Never trust a beginner. My Uncle played a lot and used similar tactics.
Few months late but I personally love the longer videos with all the thought process!!
I like long matches. The mindgames in long matches are a nice change compared to the short rounds usually. Balance is importanant
I think the botting out and the sitting for several turns is a tell they were on mobile and just disconnected.
I like these videos on your second channel. They are good background noise while I'm at work.
I agree with most people here; I’m fine with watching these types of videos one in a while.
These are perfect when I'm working but need something.. MAINTAIN
Hard agree on the comment about how high level players love to stall forever, can confirm this seems to be a thing with most strategy games.
It's possible that they were masters or grand masters on a new account, getting around the people who change the settings to block them from matches.
i found this whole video funny as hell
I prefer you having fun man, I dont mind longer videos at all.
Do not limit it to novices, this provides more entertainment than some quick nonsensical 10 minute match. This holds more strategic value, it may seem.
it may be more interesting if we could actualy see the other players do stuff but with fog of war and only stacking it becomes really stale
I like long videos it’s you how you explain everything
I love to see big number 😂😂😂
When I played risk I started games after work (8 in the morning) and when I cane home after a 1 hour comute I was still playing. I often played 6+ hour games and became grandmaster after a few weeks, top 1000 I think. Have not played for a few years since I don't like quick games and I don't have time for long games any more.
I did true random caps, oh it went great except for my enemies losing a ton of troops. Had good dice all game. Would love to see some true random.
Stalling is reportable, and the game doesn't make stallers bot, that is their decision.
This is interesting but probably only because this is the first time I've watched this kinda game
39:02 Make a playlist of grandmasters and one with none, both are fun
43:28 what is the name of that music
I'm in awe of this game
I dislike the quick cuts compared to the unedited version. It's easier to just put it on higher speed normally, whereas the quick cuts make it a little disorienting. It's long either way, cuts like this just seem like more effort for a worse experience. If it was significant editing, it might be worth it, but that would make these into a different type of video entirely.
such a nervous game, love it, but feeling eepy while watching
47:00 Personally i'd rather let the bot bash someone as it's it's more likely the bot will attack at random while if you attack, there's much more chance, it seemed as intentionally bashing into one person to game ruin them.
I like longer matches if the other players are good. And like someone else said maybe different maps but then it might also be harder to find better players
also have a high raked series and a low ranked series
I don't mind the long video it gives me a longer video to sit with and i like the strategy as well from the higher level players
10:00 what was the plan if green seized the opportunity for a 3 point hold over asia and oceania with 2 capitals and a capital on one of the holds
I want the non edited version.
I love them. I watch most of them. However, due to their length, most won't like them. It's fit for a side channel, so I don't think you need to change it. I want the option to watch an hour+ long cap video as well as the shorter world dominations.
I enjoy all your videos don't know about anybody else but I do😊
It really is super dull watching everyone build for like an hour and a half just to bot out
Hey! I was wondering how did you make the unique shapes for every color? That looks pretty useful
I know this is an old video. But the REAL question is. Can you delay a match long enough to max out your troops XD
I love videos like this but I would keep it on one channel so people who like to watch theses can do and the main channel is the short fun ones
i watched it so it kept my attention.
I don't mind these vids, you could do a mixture though, or so there are more shorter vids than these? cos these are good for learning about higher level tactics.
late to comment but i do it. frankly you are a good narrator of whats going on
I love videos like these
Don't mind the long ones because I want to see how it ends.
Don’t mind long video, but aggression is the best defence. Maybe make more than 1 card?
You can't more than 1 card under this ruleset
im ok with long vids like this where they are boring cause the math gymnastics are also kinda interesting to me
I think the shorter videos have less value as the game is over to quickly to build anything important and enjoyable, unless something odd happens of course
I like long videos with lots of strategy
