I can't tell you exactly how many Predator remakes we've seen from Adidas over the years, but it's a lot! So it should be no surprise that they're starting off 2023 with yet another, except this time, very different! And cheaper!
In today's video we take a closer look at the new Adidas Predator Precision+ and Precision.1 remakes in white, black and pink. With the term "remake" being a little generous this time around, in that these don't stay as true to the originals as we've seen in the past. Why's that? Well, one is leather, but not kangaroo leather, and the other isn't leather at all! That's right, Adidas just released a synthetic version of a 23 year old Predator design! Have they lost their minds completely, or are they actually onto something here? We discuss what each of them is all about, how they compare to past remakes, and whether or not they're heading in the right direction. Do you think these changes are good or bad from Adidas?

Trained last night in the Precision.1
Definitely slightly bulky but all old school predators were like that (I’m 32). They still feel light and soooo comfortable. No blisters or pressure points so highly recommend to all of us who miss those old school preds ❤️
@Sean - awesome to hear how the .1 felt to you while training the other night. I always loved the Preds while playing in my younger years (almost 46 years young now and still play). First two pairs of my Preds were in 1998 with a FG Accelerator and next was the Precision SG in 2000. Loved playing in both, and especially the SG on well maintained natural grass pitch’s… that was an awesome feeling!!
Now I have to wait for the snow around here in Montana to melt to break in my new Precision +. Ski season will eventually end and I’ll get to break these new cleats out soon enough 🤙. Cheers!
The quality is pretty neat on them as well. Maybe not as high end as the others that have released. I’m happy with mine.
The synthetic model is actually thinner than the Copa Icon. It takes a bit getting used too. But for nostalgia’s sake, worth it.

My + arrived on Monday from Unisport. Not too bad on shipping times getting all the way to Montana. Fits and feels very similar to my original Precisions from 2000 that I still have from my playing days collection.
Granted it’s not a boot for everyone. It was the same back in 2000. But if you like leather and would like to play in a pair,go for it. I do wish they actually used Kangaroo leather like my originals… the break in time will just be a little longer this time around 🤙
I got them in the mail today. They are simply the worse soccer shoes I have ever had. Returning them tomorrow.
I’m 15 and just got the Precision+, either my feet haven’t adapted to the shape of the boot but I’ve been getting blisters for 2 training sessions in a row, I just hope they break in quickly so I stop not hating them and start bending it like Beckham on the pitch

Opted for the +. I had so many metatarsal injuries from getting stepped on because of how thin synthetic materials are.
I bought the .1 and I really like it. As a defender, the bulk makes me feel more protected while some more modern boots feel like I have no protection at all. You push through anyway but I think it does make a psychological difference when going into those tough challenges where your feet are, quite literally, on the line.
Shame you didn't really speak about the touch much though. I haven't given them a crack with long balls yet but I did some smallwork with them yesterday and they are really good compared to my old boots from 5 years ago lol. Quite nice on the feet, I did stumble once or twice with them but I'm hoping that is just me not being used to them and not a flaw.

i agree. if a mania with the calf leather at $280 or a hybrid touch at $250 released, i would cop for sure.

Honestly, they should’ve gone with a kangaroo upper to keep that competition with mizuno, not to mention it would somewhat feel like a copa but still have that vintage aesthetic look they’re going after with the remakes. Even then, another remake of the adizero f-50 would’ve been better than trying to go the synthetic route for this boot. Nonetheless, it still looks 🔥

For 280usd, Adidas should spare no expense... it should be kangaroo leather. An what is the point of a synthetic "OG" Pred? Adi did not learn their lesson from those horrid 2014 Revenge pack remakes with synthetic Preds... Glad i passed on these

There really isn’t much of a difference in shape or width between the two. For slimmer foot shapes in general, particularly through the heel, these are definitely on the wider end of football boots.
Anyone know what is the main difference between the predator precision.1 vs. the predator precision.3 ???
So in my Nike mercurial pair I’m a size 10.5 but sneakers I’m a 9.5. I have a wide foot. Do I go with the size of the mercurial or true to size in sneakers ?
You know what annoys me about the predator remakes, the sole plate and heal counter "being modern", back in the day they were quality and really separated them from the take down versions
adidas should launch a remake of the golden "world player 2000" precision one off's they gave zidane
Got the .1’s to match my son’s pair. This boot is a tank & I love it in some ways. But I 100% agree, the heel slippage is god awful but I’ll still greatly enjoy these

I may be misremembering, but I feel like no calf skin leather boot was anywhere near this expensive in the early 2000s. I thought there was always a greater price gap between the K leather and calf skin models. Is the other tech on these calf skin boots these days just so impressive that it drives up the price, is it simply inflation, bit of both? I could just totally be remembering wrong.
While I definitely think these could be less expensive, I think it’s tough to compare the prices of anything from 23 years ago. It also must be said that this is a limited release, so lower production numbers would also bring the cost up a little bit, although Adidas is a huge brand and I’m sure could manage to charge less. Regardless, $280 compared to $350 is a sizeable drop that I never expected from them.

Got my Precision+ a couple days ago. They are tanks. Heavy. Way too bulky. I feel more wearing two condoms at the same time lol. I don't think any real footballer will wear these as they are terrible on a functionality standpoint imo. They are nostalgic and pretty, that's around it.
Why are they changing the historic red to pink on all these predator boots? I really dislike it and makes me want to boycott them. Use the pink, but release the original colorways first
