VX .18 or a traxxas pro 15 with short shaft are a direct fit. Just hafta use the associated rc10gt flywheel clutch bell and clutch nut. I just bought an os .18 cv-r. My rc10gt will flat scream now. Great build man and thanks for keeping a classic alive!!!
Should use a lipo battery pack for your reciever pack could even up the voltage ⚡ to ur reciever by getting a 7.4v reciever pack and ur servos will perform better
Try changing the transmitter to 22ms or 11 or even 5 now. Sometimes these servos don't recact to faster times. I put one at 22ms and stop the jitter. Power sometimes does it too

Awesome! Definitely check the compression of the engine. I like to use rubbing alcohol to clean up all the old nitro fuel.
