As a 52 year old male, I cannot fathom the energy needed to sustain the behavior she had here. I can barely get up, walk to the coffee pot, and sit down in my chair. Man alive.
I actually feel sorry for her. I think it's pretty messed up we dump foster kids at 18 into the streets basically. They don't suddenly have their lives together with somewhere to go, just because they turn 18. The age should be moved up to 21. These kids don't choose to become homeless at 18 with people screaming to get the homeless people off the streets. America, we need to do better.
Listen to her caseworker. There's a program that helps them until 26. Deja was kicked out. She has a history of violence including a previous battery on a police officer.
This is a reflection of the trauma this kid went through in life. It’s not an easy thing to snap out of just because you’re an adult. Abandonment trauma is a horrible thing.
Which is why I'm glad I live in Canada. The legal adult age here is 21, and I am lucky enough to have a family that is willing to keep me until I can get (hopefully) married and live with a spouse. I feel bad for 18-year-old Americans being thrown out into the streets at 18. Like c'mon, America, please do better
Sadly it sounds like, and a lot of this is *ASSUMPTIONS* on my part, but she has been in the foster care system for prob her whole life. Was a ward of the state in group homes bc she never got adopted (that’s sad in itself, but she obvi has anger issues, she may have had foster parents & messed up any chances due to attitude/ behavioral probs) …so now she has aged out of the system bc she turned 18 & on her own,,and that would be scary!! But her attitude/behavioral problems are only worsening everything!! And she should def have a job…she could prob go to college & get it covered for FREE ..But she’s prob around friends using drugs & prob is herself too doing all the wrong stuff. But I def think her past and her environment contributed to all this. Maybe the imperfect system , her parents , past etc all have some blame in this situation she’s in…but if she wants to change & contribute to society, 18 is def young enough to turn it all around & lead a functional life. But I have doubts she will do that - her life will prob be just warrants & jail time. Very sad.
I gotta say, the fact that the cop never once changed his tone or demeanor despite her being a psychopath is beyond commendable. That kind of professionalism deserves a medal, raise, and to be put in the textbooks as how to

That level of hysterics is simply not normal. There is something very wrong with this poor girl. Probably not a good idea to let her walk around in public.

This poor girl is one of the only people in these police cam vids Im genuinely sympathetic for. The hurt in her eyes is very evident. She isn't fake crying like so many others, she's clinging desperately to the tough girl persona and if it weren't for that, she'd be crying and I feel for her. I really hope she's doing better now.
Listen, she aggravated the F out of me and I’m glad they arrested her cuz she was so disrespectful BUT can you imagine turning 18 and on that day your told to leave the house and people you’ve probably lived with for years who have provided you with your money clothes etc….and just simply asked “where can I drop you”?! I think for anyone that would be so hard! From 1 day to the next your living situation and money completely change to where u have nothing and have no one in this world to go too for help! That’s scary and quite sad tbh
I have had a number of friends while I was growing up that were in the foster care system. They do not do jack shit to prepare a kid to enter adulthood at 18. Nothing. Foster care families they live with them just want the money the government provides to act as foster care“parents“. Nine times out of 10 they don’t care anything about the kid and they don’t do anything to help them develop. These kids have been shuffled around and abandoned and misused all of their lives. If they have mental health issues it’s not properly dealt with. One girl I knew was in the foster care system from the time she was about eight years old. She came out of a situation where her mother‘s boyfriend was raping her at six years old. When I knew her, She shoplifted chronically, she was a chainsmoker at 15 years old. One time I saw her go into an open Art supply room at our high school grab a giant bottle of ink and pour it all over everything in that room. I mean she destroyed everything in there. There was a lot of anger inside that girl. I don’t know whatever became of her because I lost contact with her I just couldn’t deal with her bizarre behavior anymore. But yeah there’s a lot of really beat up damaged kids growing up in the world who end up thrust into adulthood extremely angry and mentally ill. While I was still around her she had to go to the doctor because she was having severe uterine cramping. I mean she was in extreme pain. Turned out the guy that was raping her head damaged her uterus and it was doubled over inside of her as a teenager. I don’t know if she ended up having hysterectomy or what. But yeah you don’t know what happened to this girl to make her like this. There’s probably a very high chance that she was severely sexually abused as a child when she had no power to prevent it. A lot of children are raped in this world. It does absolutely terrible things to their minds and their bodies. Our foster care system is failing these kids. Doesn’t justify her carrying on like this but it might explain it. I hope she was able to get herself together and find the help that she needs the function in this world.
The whole system is a big joke but going the lengths she did will earn her no credit at all. At the time of this video she was an 18+ year old woman, life ahead of her and this is how she wants to start her journey? It's only going to go downhill and with her attitude she's going to literally hit rock bottom very quickly and start blaming everyone around her. What's scary about this type of a person at her age is that they're going to get pregnant and probably have a lot of children in a "short" time. Hopefully she grows out of this phase but it could be such a core part of who she is that it just won't happen.
She turned 18 and all the crazy stuff she's been getting away with becomes real life. She's scared because she has nothing and has probably burned all her bridges if she ever had any to begin with. Sad.

Surely it would take a Cold Ar*Ed judge to put u inside if you went thru n' administered a five knuckle sedative so u could carry on talking to the palliative care team.
Don’t be so quick to judge. I work supporting adults with learning disabilities. Severe autism, childhood PTSD , fetal alcohol syndrome etc. When someone with a learning disability like this becomes emotionally deregulated, the behaviours m in this video can be the kind of challenging behaviours that manifest. I have been watching a bunch of these police body cam videos lately, and it is about 70% alcohol, 10% mental health, 10% drugs, and 10% people with some kind of learning difficulty. Sometimes the police are really good, and other times they don’t handle things properly. In this case restraint was necessary for her own safety. I hour that she gets the support that she needs. She’s just a kid. She deserves better from life than what she has gotten.
We need to stop making up excuses and illnesses for people and then drop them off on the street after a couple of days. That ain't working. She was behaving like a child for who knows how long the police was with her, you get a pretty good picture of who she was in life by the way she acted early on in the video. The biggest problem as I see it is that she can have children and she'll probably have quite a few of them and what about them? Growing up with such a mother won't create angels and law abiding citizens that's for sure.
I’ve always thought about removable chairs/seats for the back seat with wrist, ankle, and waist restraints. That way you have more officers able to get the person restrained in the seat and then you just load the seat with the person already secured in it in and lock it into place.
Thats sad. She is getting monthly checks and her case worker tried to get her a job so she could support herself at 18 but she clearly has severe issues and needs help.
Yeah that's right, because she has never been disciplined. Never been schooled in proper behaviour or told simply NO. Because, in todays society you cannot discipline any one, so this is what you get
No, the reverse. Respect your opinion, though. Here on the west coast, it's often assholes like this that get special benefit(s) of doubt - time and time again. She might conceivably end up with a job as say the world's worst (but still highly paid) police dispatcher in say - Greater Berkeley, CA. Her arrest if she only gets one, can be removed or even quashed. No joke.
I don’t believe that someone stole her money. I don’t believe a word that comes out of her mouth. It’s funny when the police have to use force to get them out of one car and then they fight just as hard to get them in the cruiser.
I bet I can guess what she spent that money on….💸 This one is extremely dangerous not only to herself but to everyone she comes in contact with. It was good to see how she thought she was running the show and how the officer turned it around and they all were definitely IN CHARGE! This is seriously a long term, inpatient lockdown just ready to happen. Either that or she’ll never make it much longer here.
I wouldn't have put up with that either. One time a girlfriend of mine had a few too many to drink and started acting out at a club we were at accusing other women of looking at me. When she went to the bathroom I left her there 😂. It was 30 miles from my house. She threw such a fit in the parking lot the cops were called on her 😂. It was a Friday night so she had to stay there until Monday to see a judge 😆. I went to the strip club Saturday and Sunday and had a blast 😂. Her court appointed lawyer called me Monday morning and asked me if I would allow her to stay with me and If I will take responsibility for her? I hung up on him 😂
For the majority of cases like this the officers hands are tied. It varies by state, but for the most part they can't force someone into a psych hold for longer than 72 hrs. We desperately need to change the laws so ppl like her can get into a psych halfway house type facility, and of course rehab if needed.
Many patients like this have to go to ER first before they are placed on a 5150 where they are in danger to others or themselves. They are put on a 72 hour hold. I agree with the other poster that society needs to take mental heath more seriously. This officer telling her to act like a grown adult does NOT know anything about a mental condition. So sad these officers are behaving like this and wrapped her up like that in a body hold. Many cites a have a mental unit where there is a team of a social worker and an officer that are highly trained on how to handle a subject with a possible mental disease.
How else would the police handle her? They stayed calm and followed their state laws. Why don’t you get out on the street and help these issues instead of being a keyboard warrior?

He brings up her arrest which is irrelevant and pushes her buttons. lot of these video I've seen where women blow up is always the cop escalating the situation and acting in a wrong way. These cops have 0 people skills or understanding of people's minds. Or maybe he wanted her to blow up? idk but she is clearly on edge she's basically homeless and her boyfriend just broke up with her who was obviously the last person she had as a support system and the case worker is treating her like trash while going through this. Says she is sol. Shit out of luck. Then he comes up and decided to boss her around and bully her. This is the obvious result. It's not rocket science. Her behavior in context is not strange or abnormal. For those who don’t seem to understand the whole case worker thing…this girl was in foster care/an orphanage basically, she turned 18 and couldn’t figure out where to go. It happens ALOT to the kids who never get adopted who then turn 18. They’re often left to their own demise with that last check that they receive, which is basically a glorified allowance. Some are smart enough to get part time jobs, they start saving for the big day…but many are not even in the right place mentally to grasp the fact that they need to do this. They’re children, as you can see here. This whole thing was over the fact that this girl was coming to the realization that she’s done, 100% on her own from here on out….considering where many of these kids come from and the lives they’ve had, that can be utterly terrifying to someone at 18, with no real family and a sparse few friends here and there outside of the care home. This is why she just kept wanting to go back to “the office”…she likely knows nothing else in regards to a home, and she definitely has no idea as to what she’s going to do next in life. Not all making excuses for the little brat but, can be quite overwhelming..esp for kids who’ve had a rough go at life already. More often than not, these kids get caught up in the legal system after turning 18, some intentionally as jail gives them a place to stay and (pretty much, food shelter and clothing wise) be taken care of still, many don’t know what else to do, and many of them end up in far less than ideal situations on the streets. There are people in this world who prey on kids like this, and the kids are often ill prepared to deal with that. Sucky and scary situation all the way around, but her behavior is atrocious. Not going to help her much in this world, she needs to grow up very quickly and I’m afraid she doesn’t have what it takes to do so.
@williamnews9051 ..no one was making any excuses..her behavior was atrocious as I said in my original comment. Just saying, this is why the homeless population of those 18-25 is on a sharp rise in recent years. No reason to bring race into it in any case, completely irrelevant and random in a negative way. People like this are a big part of why inequality still exists folks. Dr. King’s probably rolling over in his grave. The fact that someone supposedly subjected to such prejudice feels the need to spew racist rhetoric in public out of clear blue nowhere is straight up sad.
Kev, well said, ur spot on! I'm not condoning her behavior, she clearly was emotionally broken & in fight mode. Everyone did their best to be kind & gentle & couldn't contain her. In her hysterical state the Hospital should have admitted, sedated & transferred her to a mental health facility. This was a traumatic vid for me to see. I feel especially bad for the Caseworker, she handled this heartbreaking situation to the best of her ability & the resources available. I'm sure it didn't make it any easier for her.
She is not a brat she is a foster child who just gets a check and is tossed on the street at 18 when they could at least give her Section 8, food stamps, and education like they give illegals. I rather take care of her than them.
I would imagine there is a lot less paperwork involved with someone getting out of the car on their own. If you pull them out of the car, you probably have to arrest them and that means paperwork and possibly testifying at a trial. They probably want to avoid all that.
He was trying to deescalate the situation by making her aware that her attitude wouldn't intimidate him. It took like five or six minutes. That's not too long by half.
And people know this and thus this behavior will get worse. These clowns know they can argue with the officers for hours and the judges and DA's will drop those charges 100%.

These kids don't choose to become homeless at 18 with people screaming to get the homeless people off the streets.
America, we need to do better.
Listen to her caseworker. There's a program that helps them until 26. Deja was kicked out. She has a history of violence including a previous battery on a police officer.

Wrong you are. They get assistance until 26. This particular psycho just doesn’t comply and got herself kicked out of the program.
This girl is not on drugs. She is legitimately nuts. Mental hospital.
Very sad.

Sad.
Imagin the brainwash she will turn into if she goes to collage...

What in the world is placement for people like this? the law put an A&B charge on her, but after that, where is she likely to go?
Maybe if she would stop assaulting people, her situation would be different.

Too bad that they took her to a medical hospital rather than a psychiatric one.

He escalates and antagonizes her. Only sociopaths would be able to stay calm in such a situation, plus it is also very clear she has past anger issues because of her attacking a cop, so the cop decided to antagonize her to attack him. That's what is going on.
Also asking if it's ok to take pictures of her while she is in a humiliating and compromising look and then taking them anyway when she says no was just weird. Why did he even ask? Just to piss her off?
Even after being in the wrap for a while, she kept barking orders thinking she's in charge. What a hell cat.

@@whatthefox4787 Ha ha thanks for that analogy. Your spot on.
This is so stupid. Get her out and to jail. Poor family that has to deal with her.😊
For those who don’t seem to understand the whole case worker thing…this girl was in foster care/an orphanage basically, she turned 18 and couldn’t figure out where to go.

This cop reminds me of those officers in Florida who were dispatched after a drug addict refused to exit her father's car.
WHY do officers spend this long getting someone to comply? Serious question
Because they don't wanna throw hands, it's dangerous and physically tiring. So they will try to get people to comply.
I was wondering that as well. I wouldn't have the patience.
Serious answer: because they will ask the opposite if they dont.
I would imagine there is a lot less paperwork involved with someone getting out of the car on their own. If you pull them out of the car, you probably have to arrest them and that means paperwork and possibly testifying at a trial. They probably want to avoid all that.
because she did not identify as a man.
