- The LAMBDA and LET Functions are robust functions and were recently introduced to Excel. They are only available in Microsoft 365.
When combined together, they become a game changer in Excel.
In This tutorial I combine 10 functions together in a LET then In a Lambda Function to create a Custom function that returns a beautiful Dynamic Single Cell Report and reduces the original function of 327 Character down to only 5 characters.
We have a lot to learn
So, let's dive in

Easily the most useful demonstration of the LET and LAMBDA functions in combination with the usual everyday functions most of us use. Very well presented Nabil, I was able to follow the flow and logic of the LET function.
Thank you for posting this tutorial.
Great demonstration, I love your ways to present. Your great work benefits for all . Thank for your utmost generosity
Great tutorial Nabil. As usual your teaching style of walking through each step, along with the context for each step, shows the user not just how to do it, but why you do it.
You're very welcome!
Great demonstration, Nabil. I’m a huge fan of LET & look forward to LAMBDA going to GA. *** You have a lot going on in the LET MyClass variable. I probably would break that into smaller pieces to make it easier to follow the logic. Most of my workbooks tend to have long lives (build, deploy, use with Power Query or VBA to refresh data from source(s), & return to underlying logic when something breaks or operational need changes - often weeks or months after deployment). When I return much later, I usually have forgotten the logic. The more granular the LET variable calculation & more descriptive the LET variable name, the easier I find it is to spin up my understanding of the logic. *** Thanks for the clear explanation of an excellent demonstration. From 327 to 5. Amazing, isn’t it?
Glad you liked the video my friend
The logical flow of what functions to use and when to use them is quite excellent, Nabil. It sure does seem like programming.☺️
I just kept getting confused at the SortOrder syntax: where -1 is for descending order and 1 is for ascending order.
Might need to go over it again.
Howbeit Nabil, great job once more!!
Just watch this part again, I understand it is a bit confusing
Thanks for the reply, Nabil.
Season's greetings to you.🎊☺️
Good application and great work. Genius Nabil
Many thanks
Awesome 👍
عمل جميل جدا جدا
وفقك الله ورعاك يا استاذي الفاضل
Thank you my friend
Happy New year to all support staff of Office instructor and Nabil sir too/
Oh wow this is fantastic. The only change I would make is also adding the table name in $B$4 as another variable/parameter in the LAMBDA function. That way if there’s another similar table elsewhere in the workbook, the user can use the newly created function anywhere
I agree Patrick, that would be nice. If you edit the formula and include this variable please share it with us.
@@Officeinstructor I’m experimenting with LAMBDA so if I have some time I’ll try adding it in
Thanks a lot!
After watching this video my brain got knotted...
Happy to help
Fantastic class sir
Thanks and welcome
amazing amazing formula
Glad you liked it
I’m a little confused how did the table change as you selected different options from the drop down box, what I mean is how is the drop down box linked to the table you created
Here is a big *LIKE* brfore watching.
You're the best!
Pls sir practice file in distribution
it is in the description
WOW! This is terrifying. I don't know what to make of the Lambdas. 😫😭
