Preseason is based on the next season, not what has happened in the past. Should Florida have been #1 preseason in 2008? They never made the tournament that year. Losing 5 starters and still being between #2-#6 is mad respect.

It matters more than we care to admit, it doesn't if they keep winning OBVIOUSLY , but if we get a fair media run, or get the unfair stuff that Kansas/Duke get, we'd be even more dominant.
It may seem we're waiting around for validation that will never come. Kentucky still thinks it's the best program in the nation. We're building something here that will be better than Kentucky and time will vindicate our pride when we sell out arenas anywhere we go in the nation in 10 years or so.
the staff is almost magic but there's still a difference between skill and magic. there are concrete areas of improvement they can be exepcted to make, and some areas that are harder to improve via coaching and needs to be acquired as talent. they recruit for guys with natural ability and coachability to maximize the added value of the staff. natural athleticism/size, shooting touch and processing speed are the attributes they value.
I saw that podcast that called Reed "the dumbest athlete in Michigan history" and i blasted them for that. It was absolutely classless. I criticize college kids on their play but id never say something like that about any kid playing a game doing the best he can. I refer to those guys as dipshits whenever i post on their channel. Glad you called them out. My opinion on Reed is from the highlights ive seen on him is he has top tier footwork and touch around the basket. Seems to be very mobile and above average athletically but could use better conditioning which would make him even better athletically. If he puts in the work his ceiling could be extremely high.
I've seen a lot of terrible takes on Reed. None moreso than the clowns at Sleepers Podcast. I swear these guys don't actually watch basketball or know anything about it. It's pretty sad.

Clarke". This years team was possibly the best team of the last 34 years!!! Yet it was an after thought in the national media. If it were Dook that made this run itd still be the lead on BSPN and theyd already be on their second 30 for 30 documentary. Next season i fully expect us to be great again next season but the big stories will be Cal at Arkansas, Pooper Flagg and Caitlin fcking Clarke!!!

the disrespect is a GOOD THING! we keep a low profile. let the other teams get the attention and they dont know where we came from till the tourney. this is part of our tradition. the ap polls and other "ranking articles" are loaded with biases. - NEVER take them seriously. They wanted DUKE to win it all in 99. WE STOPPED their most talented team and got our first chip, and did it again in 04. NOBODY even gave us a look in 11 and 14, but we again changed the narrative. WE WERE SUPPOSED TO DISAPPEAR DURING CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT - BUT GOD HURLEY BROUGHT US A DYNASTY! NO. the rest of the world "disrespecting" us is part of our path and our tradition. it's UCONN VS the WORLD and the MOMENT they start giving us respect we should know they're up to something and we're in trouble.
1. Anti-Hurley bias. People don't like his mannerisms, his theatrics. 2. The bad years in between the championships 3. The lack of consistent 5 star recruiting 4. Anti-blue collar work ethic. Uconn wins championships with under rated players. Fans seem to love the massive 5 star recruiting classes that Duke etc bring in every year. So they can't stand those super star teams losing to hard working zero star players. 5. Lack of a good football program. Uconn's terrible football team relegates the entire athletic department to backwater status in the eyes of many people. No massive TV deal. No money. The country runs on college football - except in the Northeast.

As far as them being a system program: they have a rep now that the offensive system they run is so good that it matters more than the actual players. Again, not something the media cares about. No good stories there. At the end of the day, I couldn’t care less. The program has been undervalued for 30 years. They just keep winning.

I’m the guy who made the comment about oxygen. I went through a period of excessive yawning and that’s what I was told. It stopped on its own.
