my lokal dealer use the semprio in his shooting cinema for more than 60000 shots now without any damage of the gun ...the precision is still in the range of 2-3cm on 100m
I really want one of these rifles. My only detracting comment is that the "safe-to-carry position" invites dirt and debris into the action. Safe, perhaps, but not ideal.
Just carry it with the cocking plunger in the uncocked (rearward) position... totally safe... like carrying hammer down on a DA/SA handgun with a firing pin interceptor/block.
Different does not mean better. This action would be very combersome to use in any position other than standing upright. Shooting from prone with a bipod is not even an option. What is the advantage? Fast follow up shot? This advantage is moot as moving the entire barrel and fore end of the rifle will cause excess motion and swing vs. a traditional bolt only movement or automatic operation like the BAR. I see no advantage to this at all.
It's a gun specifically made for German driven game shooting. Where nearly all shots are taken from a standing position on close but fast targets (often multiple ones). And semi-autos are legally limited to only 2 rounds in the Magazine. For that application (and only that), it is quite the elegant solution.
@@BradOmedic Everything that does thing differently is inherently not for everybody. Not liking it from an aesthetically point of view is very much a valid feeling to have. But to use your metaphor: It's mostly like a go-cart. Quite nice and good in its intended role, but definitely not made for driving off-road.
Just saw your comment, I know its old yet it sounded so misguided that I offer a reply anyway: - this gun is for both driven hunt (could be pigs or boar in Italian or Iberian shrubs), but it will also work great for a nice wooded stalking deer hunt in England or New Jersey- which again is done prinarily standing. This gun is not for overweight "fatsoes" or retirees bench-shooting ringing steel targets all day long without changing their pose or lifting up their overweight bodies from their stools, and its certainly not for those truly misguided or stupid (or both) souls trying to snipe at 'game' from a mile away... Sorry if you belong in one of these categories! I personally never hunted with a tripod (- yes, during my military service many many years ago I was tought to shoot from varyous positions and use sticks, sling, trees etc. to stabilize a shot if necessary, though my default /favourite is a knee down. I am also not bad from standing. Once you know to shoot from standing, it's hard to respect "worms" who have to lie down to shoot. Hunting is not sniping, so I never use tripod, and this gun (Semprio) is awesome if you can afford it (FYI, Most American hunters might find it a little pricey relative to a simple bolt gun...)). Cheers!

Oh my lord.
What beautiful engineering have I just stumbled upon.
Nicely engineered. Fast. Awesome to use for its intended purpose. Cheers!
Always good to see something new and original!

Such elegance . It is like my Krieghoff drilling or my shotguns. I believe that one could find a Krieghoff for any shooting need
Interesting and incredible design. ❤
Wow! Elegant in every aspect.
The Germans lead the world in new and unique gun designs that I want but can not afford.
Ok. New holy Grail.
Excellent rifle!

This is much to late. Apparently it doesn't, they explain it in this video th-cam.com/video/XY4gF9NsF7A/w-d-xo.html

It's for range purposes. Not for hunting purposes.
Thumbhole stock and thumbcocker ?
Kinda working against itself imo...
Looks fantastic
german made rifles , l have 2 rifles the are superb
how much?
Posible mente la mayor revolucion en arma de carga rapida sin ser semiautomatico, y sin desencar.
Well, there were pump action rifles before. But the semprio is probably shorter. But also you have to pump more weight than a normal pump action.

@@AntonGudenus To me this is as elegant as a car with square tires.

Looks over-engineered.
It has msrp of $5k. It must be over engineered.
@@yulusleonard985 You made a good point here.
Well it is German
In my opinion over engineered.
would the Germans over engineer something? Nah.
