- I can't wait any longer, I built this Pace a few weeks ago and then rolled my ankle which stopped me testing out this legendary bike...I'm just about able to ride again so let's see how it rides!

“Now you can pretty much see the battle damage. Adds up to a bent set of cranks, dented rim, and a bent steer tube. But hey, if you wanna go big, that’s what happens.”
Funny how I can remember that almost word for word, but I go to the supermarket and can’t remember the 3 items I went in for!
Came straight to the comments as soon as he said it.
Rewatched it again recently and it's still a fantastic film.
What's that from?
@@mattgies an old trials film called Evolve.
Great riding Ali. I really enjoyed the creative camera angles. The bike looks brilliant. You rode harder than I was expecting and did it with style and confidence. Well Good Sir. Cheers - M
Many thanks!
Nice to see you back on the bike.. Some interesting shots in this one.. Awesome!!
Thanks very much 👍🏻
I found myself impressed with that speed run along the ledge to the big bunnyhop gap to manual. You have the low speed skills and the high speed skills.
Thanks!
Aaah, the good old days when Mr. Clarkson is talking about „baby steps" and does things that are beyond the skills of 90% of trials riders out there 😂 not to mention the smooth riding. bike looks clean af too ❤
Haha I should probably translate what baby steps means to me…I’m mainly talking about things being fairly close to the ground and no full effort hops (you’ll see there were no big bunnyhops to rear wheel or big hooks etc). Baby steps may still include technically difficult stuff 😋
Got it, still very impressive riding and as always just a pleasure to watch 💪🏼
Bad for you Ali to have been off-duty for a while for injury! Rebuild yourself safely! Baby steps is funny way to say how you ride! Joker! I'm struggling to hop 20cm high and keep on back wheel!
What about you @323touring?
I remember just watching my students climbing after I poped ligaments to right hand major finger. I hated to keep on ground!
I just finished fixing a new chain tensioner plate attached away from wheel axle, and just held with tie-wrap... hope it dislodge instead of crack if banging it again on rocks. I can't find parts where I am and just machined a supporting plate 3 weeks ago. 10 months inactive without much previous experience made for a disgusting restart. I'll try to load a picture or short video about it.
I think its a sweet bike and could be like an old uncle to the Hex. I could definitely see the back wheel jumping about with that tire folding! Never the less you rode it like a (trail) boss, that hop gap to manual was fantastic! I loved at the end how you went from it was fun to ride to it was actually really challenging to ride. Its great to see you riding again, having recovered from a recent injury myself I am looking forward to getting back on the bike!
Sooo nice riding on the stones Ali! I love these videos with oldschool bikes, RC250 is so nice!
The funky on bike camera angles are super cool!
So stoked for a riding video, thanks Ali!
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Those big red square tubes give it an industrial firefighter look for some reason. Splendid!
Big big respect to Ali making this video I know the pain of a badly rolled ankle at 4:13 how did that back wheel stay on As an old get slammed made me chuckle 😂😂
My ankle let me know about things the next day(s)!
@@Ali_Clarkson know the feeling as I am older flat and hard landings on my Alcatraz most of the day it’s triple the pain that’s the problem with getting older
I love the riding videos Ali, and also the creative shots are very interesting. And yeah, also after a while, you make it look easy to ride every trial bikes of any era!! Thanks for your videos, they are great for a kick of inspiration!
That Quarry looks beautiful and a biking paradise, glad youre getting back to riding🙏
Great video Ali!
We have too many similarities at the moment! Like you I am a boulderer as well as a rider. I came off from the top of a problem that I thought I had nailed, due to a momentary lapse of concentration, recently. I landed facing 180 degrees the other way, on just one foot and whilst still spinning. There was a crunch. I felt instantly sick. I was on ice within a couple minutes and walking about within 45. I even went to the pub quiz later that evening although drove as it was already playing up. Middle of that night excruciating. Next day stiff but bearable. Eventually made to get an Xray by a doctor friend. Avulsion fracture of leg bone! I did similar to the other in 2016 riding. I used a crutch for a day - too slow!
As we're both autismos with a frequent guest of a black dog I would imagine that we have had similar difficulties during the injuries. Thankfully I joined a ropes gym to continue pulling on plastic in an ankle friendly way after a week and now have graduated to some gentle mountain biking and road rides.
Very jealous of your Pace! I don't think you told us how on earth you managed to get it!
Huge fan of your Ali ❤,love from nepal 🇳🇵
Thank you very much, so cool to hear my videos are being enjoyed so far away!
You get some fans from everywhere Ali! Thumbsssssss up!
Good to see you back riding Ali and giving it some too mate good on you
What a bike. It looks awesome dude. Nice angles too!
Nice!!! Another bike ride video!!! 😎👍👍👍 Nice camera shots!!! Love the looks of that bike! 🚴 Hope your all feeling now! Greetings from 🇵🇭
I remember those things, the demo's at bike shows 🔥
Oh yeah!! 👍
Stoke for summer riding.
Thanks Ali for riding while your injured.🙏
loved it! Bag O Tar story was good. Such a great sound with the tar. Sweet camera work as well. Thx for making and sharing with us. 💪🏼🌎
Lovely build and riding. Despite the tyre fold, the grip level still looks good, and I dread to think how old they are!
The conditions definitely helped with grip, nice and dry with grippy rock :)
Have a great day, Ali!
You too dude!
bike is DREAMY! remember Pace from back in the day LOL good to see it's still got it :D are those tyres IRC Kujo DH?
Coolest bike ever!
5:20 I've had to explain to the police the difference between CO2 and N2O (nitrous oxide) canisters before!
He's back!🤘
Whoop!
Hooray, a riding video. Glad to see you healing up. Any chance we'll see you in the US for the Bentonville bike fest next week?
Thanks very much!
Sadly not, no invitation plus being honest I’m in no condition to be travelling and having long days on the bike with my ankle and neck :(
@@Ali_ClarksonBummer. It's the biggest trials event I know of in the US. Hopefully you can make it one of these years.
Very good shots, insane skill, and using tar is Awesome! :D
Cool new chainstay angle Alastor!
That Pace is crying out for a strip and ball burnishing. Not a box-section Pace unless it's ball burnished.
Gap to manny was awesome. Would love a go on the pace again. Fancy hiring it out 😂
I'd like to see a vid on rims/spokes/hubs/tire choice for various trials terrain. City vs rocks vs timbers etc etc
A future idea! Cheers
Sounds like he's being chased by the bunch of 🐝🐝🐝
Greetings from Croatia 😎
Gap quote Jeff lenosky?. Can’t remember the video but I had it on VHS
Evolve? 🤔
Bonus points for both of you!!
@@Ali_Clarkson do points mean prizes? 😉
@Ali_Clarkson at least you didn't destroy your cranks, pedals, and rear tire like Jeff did. 😅
@@petesturtevant7642 pretty sure he cracked the steerer tube, too! 😂 some impact that was. Still, could be worse, could have dented the top tube with his balls..
Hawziee Chainspotting reference? Or Jeff Lenosky in Revolution (or Evolve)?
The latter 👍🏻👍🏻
Love the idea of using tar on the rim! Any suggestions on where to get some, though?
If those are pace forks I would be worried 🤣😭 snapped mine in 2 months.
Haha yes, they do give me the fear a little bit
@Ali_Clarkson they are absolutely gorgeous, though pace knew how to make things look good.
@@talldarkrandom3170 agreed!
- Oi, mate. Whut's thut lud doin overr therr?
- Looks to me like he's smirrin hashish overr his wheel.
That's crazy Man. I've got this great big lump of hash that looks just like your lump of tar. Mine smells better though. Fully legal, homegrown and homemade. California Living.
I’ve always been curious, you always side hop from your real wheel - but, could you side hop from your front wheel? I understand it would be much more difficult, but it could look really cool.
Have you used violin rosin instead or tar? That’s what we’re using
“Now you can pretty much see that battle damage. It adds to a bent pair of cranks, bent pair of pedals, a completely demolished back wheel and a bent steerer tube.” famous Jeff Lenosky quote after he obliterated his bike in evolve.
do you think you could make a tutorial on how to fakie nose manual and the basic things that are needed ?
Is it possible to put that camera on the bars? I'd love to see how you modulate the brakes.
I think i could do that, I’ll experiment 👍🏻
2:50 channelling Jeff Lenosky there ;) Also you can't ride a red Pace without a montage section with Korn :P
Отличное катание!
When are you going to take the time to mend up, Ali?
We're you thinking " Do not break it Do not break it Do not break it Do not break it Do not break it Do not break it Do not break it Do not break it Do not break it Do not break it" The entire time? :D
Try Base ta26

as always, always handsome and not human moves....
i don't want to scratch the frame...
second hop: scratched the frame.
Mesmerising ali love all your builds and riding 👏👏🤙👍
