In the U.S., you can have 1 or 2 month difference, in reference to the start and end date of a job. The dates don't need to be exact because that's not possible most of the time for an employment check or even an education check. Some companies over here consider the offer day as the start date, once accepted, while others consider the start date the day you show up to the actual job. Why is it so strict in India? 😳

Most certificates don't have an exact date on them. It is even harder to remember the start date. These are stupid questions asked by BGV and if your company relies on such bullshit, you will lose out on talent.
HI corporate diary, I was offered job by welcome Hotel ITC, they called me and made me seated at there place for 9 days during my medical, checked up, PCC and background verification so far all was exellent but still they revoked my offer letter by blaming that I have hidden the last employer info which is also ITC and they don't have any adverse case against me accept I left company on my own and took clearance. Because of this unexpected HR's behaviour I have lost my career offer from Intercontinental Luxury one. Can I sue them for doing so with me.

Thanks.... I had one job offer just below my salary expectation and in the interim I was getting interviewed by another company who agreed to pay me over the offer that I had from first company. I emailed the first company that I wanted to compare the best offer between the two companies and hence require some time. This was done in a very lenient way over email. But after a week's time when I contacted the first company then the HR said the business doesn't like this and advised you to go with the other company. I was shocked by this response and requested them to reconsider my candidature but they didn't. Unfortunately second company also couldn't offer me because of some other thing. Here I had lost both the job offers 😢

I am supposed to join a company tomorrow and the situation that I am in this is a great offer but the currently employed company is asking me to serve at 2 months notice period which is not possible and if I serve 2 months notice period my offer letter would be revoked and if I join the new company my present company won't be providing me with my PF amount and experience certificate. Need a clarification on one of the clause, some companies have a contract mentioning you are not supposed to join the client team, without a cooling period of six months but with markets open, i am seeing huge number of employees not following it and they are joining the client company how effective is such contract what will be the consequences of it? does such clauses are void, then why companies implement them in place?
Dear Venkat, these contracts are not void, its just that company do not track who joined where, if they really want to target the person they can, they can challenge him legally.. but in most cases companies do not spend time tracking which employee joined where.. In some cases, if the contract is really solid and is been communicated to the client as well, then that client can revoke the offer in background verification stage. But as I said, not many take that pain of tracking.. so its pure bad luck, if someone falls into the rare case of being tracked down..
@@theCorporateDiaries Thanks, but in case the offer is been released and if the person is already working, what action can these companies do? with a high attrition rate in place, I feel they still may take action will they ask to terminate those employees for breaking the contract or any other action will be taken as the contract is between employee and employer mainly.

Dear if you want to make a career in HR, then do your MBA now, if not(you want to start career as IT/technical person, then do not do it, because those 2 years of MBA will take you far from your technical knowledge and you will find it difficult to get a job on a technical profile.
Hi Varsha, Regarding this video content, I would like to share my experience. I had negotiated my salary hike with an HR of reputed company before joining. HR told that my salary expectation was very high than company standard. I clearly explained reason for my expected salary . But then HR told that I am only interested in money & they will blacklist me & further didn't pick up my calls and didn't send offer letter. So can you please tell me does any company blacklist canditate only because he/she negotiated better salary than company standard. Please let me know your opinion on this. Thanks
Dear Pavan, its very sad if that happened, by no means a company blacklists anyone just because they have higher CTC expectations, not offering is their choice, but they can't stop the person from pursuing what they want. Honestly I think this was a cheap trick played by the HR Person, so that you accept the lower salary. Do not worry, this is simply a bad experience, nothing else.

Dear Pawan, most likely company will extend the joining date because college completion is not in your hands, if university is delaying it, its not your fault. so from your side keep the company HR posted about this delay. They will understand and extend the joining date.

Some companies might have criteria of no gap, but that doesn't mean all company has it, just be confident in your answer, you should project that you know what you are doing.

Dear, it will def. give you exposure if the company is good.. but don't accept unpaid duration of more than 3 months, if company is offering for 6 months of internship or more, ask for stipend from 4th month.. you have to negotiate this before accepting the offer.

Company(whose offer you declined) is obviously going to blacklist, as no body wants to waste time on someone who just job-shop and do not join. But that usually depends on many factors: 1. How you declined, in a responsible way or just stopped responding altogether. 2. Declined well in advance or on the day of joining or few days before joining. 3. Blacklisting can be time bound, like for 3 years or 5 years. and many more small details contributes to the decision.

No dear, new company will not know it until, you mention it somewhere(LinkedIn etc.) Background verification is done only for the things you claim, "you have done".

Sorry a company does not depend whole and sole on a single person , that's why rejecting one company offer is not same as company taking back offer from a person. You forgot that company in first place has invited that individual to attend interviews And then after screening and presented a offer to join the company. A company can make multiple arrangements or can also have backups who knows , they are not in Business because they depend on a single person. from candidate point of view the damage will happen when a offer taken back can be both minor or very sever. So please do not equate a employee to a company. Both are at very different levels. Aur ek bar company ki badnami Hui to badnam hi samjho. So morally company being a big entity should refrain it self (until unless very serious things comes out on part of the person hired) from taking such actions which may tarnish there image in public.

Dear if you want to make a career in HR, then do your MBA now, if not(you want to start career as IT/technical person, then do not do it, because those 2 years of MBA will take you far from your technical knowledge and you will find it difficult to get a job on a technical profile.

Regarding this video content, I would like to share my experience. I had negotiated my salary hike with an HR of reputed company before joining. HR told that my salary expectation was very high than company standard. I clearly explained reason for my expected salary . But then HR told that I am only interested in money & they will blacklist me & further didn't pick up my calls and didn't send offer letter. So can you please tell me does any company blacklist canditate only because he/she negotiated better salary than company standard. Please let me know your opinion on this.

Dear Pavan, its very sad if that happened, by no means a company blacklists anyone just because they have higher CTC expectations, not offering is their choice, but they can't stop the person from pursuing what they want.
Honestly I think this was a cheap trick played by the HR Person, so that you accept the lower salary. Do not worry, this is simply a bad experience, nothing else.

Dear Pawan, most likely company will extend the joining date because college completion is not in your hands, if university is delaying it, its not your fault. so from your side keep the company HR posted about this delay. They will understand and extend the joining date.
Please make a video of how to survive in a political cultured office because i keep on switching the jobd just because of it and don't any depth skill of surviving in such mindset cultured organization.

Some companies might have criteria of no gap, but that doesn't mean all company has it, just be confident in your answer, you should project that you know what you are doing.

Dear, it will def. give you exposure if the company is good.. but don't accept unpaid duration of more than 3 months, if company is offering for 6 months of internship or more, ask for stipend from 4th month.. you have to negotiate this before accepting the offer.

Company(whose offer you declined) is obviously going to blacklist, as no body wants to waste time on someone who just job-shop and do not join. But that usually depends on many factors:
1. How you declined, in a responsible way or just stopped responding altogether.
2. Declined well in advance or on the day of joining or few days before joining.
3. Blacklisting can be time bound, like for 3 years or 5 years.
and many more small details contributes to the decision.

No dear, new company will not know it until, you mention it somewhere(LinkedIn etc.) Background verification is done only for the things you claim, "you have done".

Hi sis am uploading documents on march 11 th in Accenture portal as a freher 2021 mtech passed out batch but am getting rejected, because i done 2009 to 2013 ,done mba 2014 to 2016 and again mtech 2019 to 2021 in between education gap is there but on thise days working in college but accenture not accepting dese reason they cancelled my offer letter

10th marks won't matter if you get high marks in grads and have really good technical and soft skills.
Sorry a company does not depend whole and sole on a single person , that's why rejecting one company offer is not same as company taking back offer from a person. You forgot that company in first place has invited that individual to attend interviews And then after screening and presented a offer to join the company. A company can make multiple arrangements or can also have backups who knows , they are not in Business because they depend on a single person. from candidate point of view the damage will happen when a offer taken back can be both minor or very sever. So please do not equate a employee to a company. Both are at very different levels. Aur ek bar company ki badnami Hui to badnam hi samjho. So morally company being a big entity should refrain it self (until unless very serious things comes out on part of the person hired) from taking such actions which may tarnish there image in public.
