Just some background --- The reason Chanel is now utilizing the camellia flower in its products has much (if not all) to do with the fact that the camellia was Coco Chanel’s favorite flower. Chanel was given her first bouquet of camellias by her lover, Boy Capel, and she started pinning silk versions to her lapels, and her hair. The camellia flower has been reinvented in many timeless forms within the Chanel fashion collections, either as silk brooch, leather appliqué or gold plated, hidden in engraved buttons on jackets and shirts. If you look back to her original clothing lines you'll see the camellia flower pinned everywhere. So, while their using it as a skin care ingredient is understandable; it has been studied and verified as a highly effective skin enhancer, imo, it's more of a marketing tool. Kind of a way to do a nostalgic 'look-back' while bringing the brand to younger customers. Tatcha has been using this ingredient since that company's inception. Thank you for all that you do .... I love the powdered to foam cleanser. I have mature, sensitive,dry skin and found this to be very gentle and softening. Sea salt is at the very bottom of the inky list and the cleanser isn’t on your face that long to matter. I use it as a morning easy cleanser. I also love the blush. It is very natural looking.
Thank you for this. My days of mainstream branded skincare is pretty much over. And I will never understand fragrance and skin care considering how sensitizing it can be. That said the packaging is gorgeous and of course Chanel knows style and elegance- The packaging definitely would’ve drawn me in, along with the semi interesting ingredient of the camellia flower.

One of the reasons I like their skincare is that Chanel never neglects the sensory experience of using skincare. Every product is always a delight to the face and the nose 😃
Love the Chanel #1 line. The #1 foundation is fabulous on mature skin but the primer Serum is much too fragrant for me. That said, I purchased the Serum in Mist and I'm hoping this works as reviewed. Thanks for a great review.
I really appreciate this review. Unlike other skin channels that just did a video to hate on the brand and just be skeptical of the products, you actually gave them a fair shot with an open mind. I might try the eye cream. I currently use Shiseido- it’s very rich and does wonders for my dry under eyes. I wouldn’t mind paying 10$ more if it’s worth the price. I might also try the foundation because I’m very dry, and I LOOOOOVE looking dewy with a natural finish 😅 ✨
I 🖤 the foundation, & I’m a full coverage gal. I wear Chanel’s CC cream underneath for additional spf and color correction (daily spf is Colorescience or Supergoop). I also set w/powder and use a finishing powder. 🙈 The foundation lasts all day. I find it plays nice w/my other Chanel foundations, as well. With all that said …. now I “need” the mist, face and eye creams. 😝 I’m a makeup and skincare junkie.

This was a super-helpful video! Who didn't get this big advertisement about the new Chanel products...woo-hoo, look at the new Chanel line at Ulta!!! As someone with normal/combo skin, excessive hydration is not how my skin gets through the day looking good. For probably my first 57 years I've been oily. It's only lately that I'm veering off toward Normal and I'm loving it! I guess my biggest question after watching this is... are there any of these products you'll be purchasing again??!?

Speaking as an oily person forever and a day, what you could do is experiment with what skincare you use first before applying the foundation. Applying all the super hydrating skincare would increase the greasiness for me x 1000. I don't wear moisturizer in the am, period. I don't wear foundation either...only SPF. I don't like dewey, dewey = greasy to me, so I opt for matte. Have for years. A suggestion anyway. Have you tried anything from Jones Road? Sounds interesting, I didn't know Bobbi Brown left her company, but I've never had an opportunity to see anything up close and personal with her name on it. I saw her new company, her doing a video, on tiktok, and I was very interested!

I use Babor products for my clients. I was really happy w their RefineRx AHA peeling gel as a good professional Exfoliant for classic facial. However! they have discontinued it. Do know of a really good Exfoliant for classic professional facial?
I am super dry and love this foundation! I only wish it didn't have fragrance in it -- it is faint, but I'd like none. I don't go wet/greasy with it. I am happy with other skincare, so I'm not picking up any of this -- I just think so many spendy skincare options lack real bang for buck; or perhaps a better way of saying it is that I can find such efficacious and great skincare for less -- I'd spend this money on superoxide dismutase first, or modulating glucosides, even though they're doing entirely different things than this mist for my skin!
This may be one of the few foundations that I need to go with sunscreen only (then foundation). Leave out the moisturizer. That might work. I’m so glad it works for you! ❤️❤️
I absolutely love the foundation it sits on the skin beautiful…..department store brands are NOT! Skin care so I don’t care at all about any claims of any brands…medical grade all the way for substantial changes in the skin….as you understand the science backs this up!….however I love the lip and cheek products and the foundation is my number 1 right now….otherwise I only wear a tinted SPF…
I have suuuch a hard time with Chanel anymore. I used about stayed loyal to the hydra line and never saw a massive hydration. I bought a CosRX and the next day was glowing… maybe my skin hates super luxury 😂
Great review! I did pick up the foundation and one of the lip & cheek things. I have very good luck with the foundation - no greasiness. I am Sahara Desert dry which could be the reason for no greasiness. To get the lip and cheek stuff to not fade, I did top it very very lightly with a powder blush basically just to set it. I have not tried any of the skin care because I'm happy with what I'm using. At some point I may try the eye cream. Chanel makeup is hit or miss for me. It all depends how much fragrance they shove in a product. The new lipstick balms don't have fragrance or taste which is amazing.

I’m also using the foundation and just thinking it’s a lot of fragrance to be putting on my skin each morning. I usually use chantecaille and always feel it’s “cleaner” than Chanel, it’s probably not lol
Do you feel that the mists add any value, beyond smelling nice? I have used them and always feel kind of silly. Like I'm spraying something on me that really doesn't do anything. They are all very pricey.
I think it moisturizes my skin quite well. That said…..will I rebuy it? No, I won’t. It’s nice but for $75 I can think of several other moisturizing mists that would do an equally great job. 🤷♀️

I think if Chanel is trying to market their products to a younger demographic, they should consider their pricing not just the eco-friendly packaging.
