Great info...wipers are so important especially with rainy season around the corner. So vital to be able to see during heavy rains. Thanks for sharing.
To be fair, I was pressured to "keep uploading content" and assume no one has the same experience I have. Then I went through a short lack of inspiration and tried to make content doing what had to be done anyhow... Boring! Sorry. I won't promise not to be boring again, but I do promise not to upload any more un-inspired work thinking anything is better than nothing.
I have made side-by-side comparisons with 4 of our vans, spray-foam / batt insulation / batt insulation & tinted windshield / stock cargo (no insulation or headliner). Obviously, the stock cargo was unbearable, despite a bias in the test from tree giving morning shade and starting this van cooler. The tinted windshield made a huge difference while the difference between spray and batt was arguable. Spray has other benefits, structure, noise reducing, completely nonabsorbent... but higher cost and effort.
Florida Van Man - Thanks for the reply. I need to kick in high gear on my Sprinter build. I’ve been debating the foam v. Everything else for a couple of years. I have a layer of lizard skin ceramic thermal barrier sprayed in. Of course that gives most of the interior metal a pass from moisture except the stuff under the various structural pieces. I read 8 years of a hot rod group thread and learned how to make the way less expensive home-made lizard skin (acrylic latex paint with micro ceramic glass beads from an airplane supply place; mix to the consistency of spray in bed liner) and have wondered if I should even second coat what I have. I have a supply of dumpster rescued insulation sheets. I’m suffering from too much thinking and not enough doing. In theory, almost any choice can be undone, but I’d like to hit the home run ball. Of course, I haven’t caught a video yet where someone said “I want to do a crappy conversion.”
Hello Bill, I have installed good new wipers, but when they work on a rainy day, its not moving smoothy on my windshield and it does not wipe continually, it looses the grip and then start to touch the surface and loos the grip again, kind of vibration, like 10 time per pass, it is annoying, any suggestion if the arms are bad or the overall system is worn-out, please let me know, thanks a lot
Hey there, any tips on why my wipers always streak? I’ve replaced them twice (I think two different RainX kinds, I haven’t tried the Bosch) and had my windshield replaced. They appear to be aligned. But every time I use windshield fluid, it’s so hard to not have them jump and streak. Totally flummoxed… The only thing I can think of is perhaps if the body of my actual vehicle is warped (lol, totally possible) (p.s. I like hearing your birds there 😊)
@@FloridaVanMan ~ thanks, I got some! Do you use exclusively the Rain-X wiper fluid too, or does the spray help any fluid work well? (I bought both, but I still have some of the old fluid in the tank I’ll use before adding the Rain-X)
@@FloridaVanMan ~ well good to know that it’s the spray stuff that makes the difference, and that I don’t have to worry so much about which fluid to use… Thanks!
Hey Bill. I've changed my wipers 3 times and no matter what I do they skip on the driver's side. It's so annoying. I can never get a clean wipe. Any advice?
Video will be coming soon... as soon as I figure it out! I've got new glass, just tinted inside and treated with RainX outside, so I don't need wipers. But when I run them it is a joke!!! The first wipe is perfect but the wipers returning home chatter and splatter all the way leaving a wetter windshield than I started with. I have a few ideas from my years of reading the forums and chats, soon I will find out what works. Stay tuned a little longer.
ahhhh, you cut out the most important part. How did you move it to straighten? does it have little teeth like a socket so you have to pull all the way off and put back on a little bit clockwise from where youwere?
Exactly that. It gets a little bit on ridges so needs to be lifted away, rotated and reseated. It's not a glorious job and I may have adjusted more times than I was comfortable showing on video. LOL It has been a while since I made this video and now I've put on so many wipers I simply line them up just above the dashes in the glass. I've been replacing a lot of windshields, fixing rust under them, and my glass provider has lines indicating where the wipers should rest in home position. I set the wiper just above the line and it comes down as I tighten the nut.
@@FloridaVanMan Thanks for the reply. I was looking into this because my passenger side was resting a bit on the metal at corner of front hood rather than all on glass. I noticed this as I was replacing wipers in a strong rain and thats when I found your vid. Like a spaz, I let my passenger side slip when the wiper was off and it cracked my windshield down low. (me shaking my head back and forth) Any recommendations on proactive windshield crack repairs? BTW your welcome back Kotter clip had me laughing my ass off.
These have confused me a bunch of times and made me question my intelligence. Thanks for the vid! PS You are an ace with one hand and a phone but maybe a gopro chest harness would be a good camera setup for ya.
Your one handed wiper work is impressive. Sometimes I can’t do it with both hands!
Editing my own camera work makes everything LOOK easy. I can do it over and over .... and over and over... Nobody knows but me! lol

I have owned a T1N for 5 years and never spotted this.... Cheers Bill and Mike....
Thumbs up for the Arnold Horshack clip.
Hey Bill. I really like your channel Sir. I will support the channel full throttle. Keep up the excellent videos 👍
Thank you so much!
thank you . I needed this help i appreciated
Glad we could help you ☺️
good video.....Bill waxing on about how to do proper wiper maintenance.....

Waiting for your take on insulation- I think you mention a preference for spray foam in one A/C vid.

Your timing is incredible! The video I released this morning covers that topic, though I didn't see this comment until now.

The replacement windshield wouldn't fit if the body were warped. Rain-X treatment helps bake the wiper slide, not hop across the glass.
@@FloridaVanMan ~ that’s good to know ~ I will pick some up and see if it helps the “hopping” I’ve lived with since 2016!

I haven't notice the washer fluid doing anything different from other washer fluids. maybe I need to try it again?

My windshield washer pump is gone bad leaking at impeller seal where can I get a new one
