I think your mistake in this game was not taking Vegas to Salt Lake when you had an orange and 2 wild. Saving yourself the trains on SLC to Portland is a big deal, it totally locks yellow out of the game, and it makes it way easier for you to consider a route that doesn't go over the top of the map
I would have taken LA-LV-SLC with those wilds, saves the time of collecting all those blue to get SLC-PDX and gives you more time to consider other routes. Also you would have gotten 3rd either way if you hadn’t taken that last ticket, I would have gone for it too. Gg and welcome back!
you have to go for that last ticket draw. bigger issue was keeping new york to chicago at the start of the game. it's only five points, doesn't connect with the rest of your routes, and you waste a lot of time and trains hooking it up. in fact, if you don't hook it up you can claim that calgary to phoenix ticket and potentially get first. don't really blame you hooking it up, though. bigger issue is keeping it to begin with and thus spending time building it/hooking it up that could've been spent drawing tickets.

100% agree
I'm surprised you focused on connecting Pittsburgh to Sault St Marie early on, since none of your routes actually require those connections.

So happy I found your channel, it’s also inspired me to start playing TTR online lately. Hopefully we get matched in a game sometime!
