Critical video for all students going to Germany.
In order to accelerate student admission and visa processing, the German Embassy introduced the Academic Evaluation Centre (APS), attached to the Science Section of this Embassy. From November 1st onwards, APS certificates will be a mandatory part of the documents to be submitted with your visa application. This means: Applicants need an APS certificate before filing a visa application. APS will be open for applications beginning October 1st, 2022. For more detailed information, please consult www.aps-india.de.
We will open new appointment slots for student visa applications through VFS Global. These slots are valid for applications to be submitted starting November 1st, 2022.
So, in short: Apply for APS certificate starting October 1st Book your appointment via VFS after obtaining the APS-certificate Appointments starting November 1st.
As there still is a number of entries on the appointment waitlist for winter semester 2022, please note that - unfortunately - it is not possible for the Embassy / Consulates to verify who is in possession of a still valid admission from a German university. I have a query regarding my state of the application and am a bit unclear on when to apply for APS certification.
So I'm currently a student who has completed his 6 of 8 semesters in Engineering and I'm planning for pursuing my master's in Germany in Sep/Oct intake 2023. I'd be having my transcripts from just 7 semesters by June 2023 and would have completed my Degree. But I'd rather not have my provisional certificate in hand, nor my whole 8 Semester transcripts.
So would those 7 semesters' transcripts be enough to apply for APS certification?
And would I be needed to apply for my 8th-semester transcript and Degree completion certificate separately after I receive them in Nov/Dec 2023 if my 7 semester grade sheets are enough to proceed with applying for APS and Visa?

A. YES you will be able to apply for APS with those things since there are various levels with which you can apply for it.

A. They have told that - you can get it updated once you get further certificates.
My suggestion -
Make a list of universities and their respective courses that you want to apply. Check their requirements -
If APS is needed --- take APS before your final degree and marksheets.
If APS is NOT needed --- apply for your universities, get admission and meanwhile apply for APS after getting your provisional and degree certificates. After passing your final graduation exam - You will be given marksheets + provisional at a faster speed because the universities are aware of the requirements of kids who want to go for further education.

Hello, as far as I have seen till now - if you are applying with your 5 sem results then you might need TestAS whereas if you are a graduate, you don't need it.

I am currently in 7th sem of my bachelor's and wanted to go for the winter 2023 intake for Germany. So I don't have a provisional degree with me so can I submit the previous sem transcripts instead? Bro it won't be late ideally since you need to arrange couple of stuffs. Still if you want to be here at Germany without wasting time - you can go ahead with the APS formalities.

Hey Nikhil, can I submit photocopies in A3 size if the originals were issued in A3 size(APS faq site says we need to submit A4 size copies). For eg my transcript was issued in A3 and I think reducing it to A4 will make it too small to read. Thank you.
What you can do it, scan it and then reduce it and then print
or
take the print out in 2 pages -- half and half and mention about it in a note and stick it to transcript.
There won't be an issue.

Nikhil bhai, i had my appointment on 13th Oct, which was applied in August. Due to my consultant stupidity, we couldn't reach on time with all the documents so they cancelled my appointment and told me to reschedule it through VFS. Now my concern is
1. Is APS mandatory for me to get appointment?
2. I'm already admitted to german college, so do I need TestAS? I will be pursuing bachelor
Hi bro, when were you waitlisted and what's your VFS ?
What you can do is calling VFS and telling about the scenario and asking them to book the appointment for you as now new appointment can be done only with APS and that will take your time again. Wish you good luck bro. Hope the call to VFS works.
You don't need to take TestAS. Test AS is waived for summer semester 2023..

Where not confirmed by the German University in the admission notification: Proof of the language skills in the language of instruction for the study course or the preparatory course (without a preparatory language course as a rule at least B2-level in the language of instructions) (original and 2 copies).

Hi Chirag, If German is required upto level B2, IELTS won't be necessary. But if German isn't required, then you need to have B2 in IELTS which will be approx 6 bands or 5.5 bands
I am unable to log in to the APS site. There is no further information visible on my account section. The page is kept on loading and then it shows the site has been overloaded I've sent my documents through courier on 21october 2022 and also handed them over to the Delhi office on 11 November 2022

I have applied and provuded my certificates on 28th of October. i have received a mail regarding payment verification last week saying that further updates will be provided via mail or the aps account. I think the site have been updated and when i try to login to the aps account, i couldn't login, it is said that the username was not registered, looks like the site have been updated. Put photos in the envelope. No need to stick it in the application.
For two sided documents like Aadhar card and Transcripts, should we take photocopy of both sides on one page or only one side on one page?
For aadhar card - you can take both page on one side. Whereas for transcripts - take front and back as it's size is large.

since on the 12th marksheet, only marks are given for all the 6 subjs, no percentage is mentioned so on what criteria should i calculate?
I mostly prefer calculating percentage based on marks of my 5 main subjects only.

Yes, I got it. You can put any of them. It won't matter in any form.
They are just checking the authenticity of your certificates.
I suggest go for 6 subjects as it won't create discrepancy in future.

You only have to sign the consent form after filling it. Except that signature is optional on the last page of the application form.
Do not paste your photographs anywhere. You can simply add them in the envelope or use a paper clip to keep the photos and documents together without pasting them.

You can do both. The To address should be BIG .... And in from write your address !!!

If you have a provisional certificate, you can use that along with the digi-locker version.
Also, just safe side, you can get a bonafide certificate from your school.
Do these, if you are in a hurry, otherwise, you can wait for the certificate to come.

Hey Sangeetha, you have to trust the delivery person and wait for APS to take action. It might take a little time and keep checking on your emails and phone calls.

For admissions at Germany - Summer applications are open now. It's the best time to apply and try to do it quickly since many deadlines are approaching as well.
I have applied for APS Certificate on the portal but on the payment details page, I did not add any details as I was not aware that we need to pay first. So I submitted the application and my ID was created. After some days I paid and tried to make a new account as in the old account there was no option to edit. I have made the payment and have attached the screenshot of the same and emailed them to look over but unfortunately, they have not replied for 3 weeks. I'm having a problem logging in and have shared the screenshot of the same via email. Request you to suggest what steps can be taken next as the payment has been made already. I need to apply for a Visa. Request you to revert and suggest. Thank You!

It does not matter for the APS.
You can do your certifications after APS too.
If needed get it updated or else simply add it in your visa application at time of visa appointment.

Simply make all the document file and attach your payment proof as well (screenshot / receipt ) then send it to APS.

I am applying for APS for Exchange program and for that both Indian and German Universities have to share the student details and Mou between the Universities which both of them already did. But we are still waiting for the Group number that they will assign to us for registering and filling the application form. Is there anything we can do to get the Group number faster and is there anything we can do before we get the group number?

Group number is something different I guess. Since your have mou between both University, you can call VFS , embassy about the same. It can only increase the speed of the process.
Hi....by mistake i mentioned the wrong city in my current address in aps application form although the address and pin code is correct....will that be an issue? Also the birth city that i mentioned is correct

My professor responded to their email for verification on 2nd DEC but I received a mail from APS that "As per the verification process we have already send an email to the college or University but we have not received any response let.
So Kindly contact to your college to respond our verification mail or share us the professors email id or student login id and password." on 15th Dec.
So I asked my professor to reply once again and she did.
I received the mail from APS again saying that they not received any response.
What do I do now?
You can ask your professor to use your application number in the subject line.
I assume your professor is using the university email. If not please ask them to do so. Also, worst case scenario send a screenshot of your professor’s reply to APS with your email.
Can we still apply for the summer intake through UNI ASSIST with the APS applied for and yet to be received.

Yes, it's just the registration details from your account page.
Make sure to get the correct details for the emails and stuff.
Also don't forget the Consent form.
I want to apply in next sem, winter but if I have all the documents now, can I apply now and skip the Testas requirement and use the same APS for next sem?
I guess for APS you can skip the TESTAS if they are not asking for it and obtain your APS certificate. Still check the requirements again while applying for VISA.

Currently NOT all universities are asking for it. BUT
its a MANDATORY certificate for VISA APPOINTMENT.
So, if your desired university isn't asking for it - you can get it later before applying for VISA. Otherwise, take it before getting admission.

You can pay it to there bank account and add details in the printed form with a pen and can attach proof of payments. It will work.

While entering CGPA it seems it is allowed to enter with decimals, as I've 8.44 but after entering 8.44 it says invalid format and accepts when written only 8, is it the case?

The process to get the data repaired unfortunately requires us to delete several individual database entries. 2.) Submission number:
Please note that your submission number is no indicator for the speed with which your verification will get processed. The submission number merely acts as an internal number that will help us trace your applications and messages to us. The speed with which your documents will get verified depends to a large degree on the willingness of your schools and universities to cooperate with us.
3.) Emails:
We are currently receiving somewhere between 500 to 1000 emails per day. Most of the questions asked in these mails have been answered on our website in the FAQ and News sections already. Please make sure that you have you have familiarized yourself with our website before posing questions. We understand that you are anxious to get your documents verified as quickly as possible, however, sending 15 emails in a row, asking about your verification status right after having received your payment confirmation will only take away precious time we would rather dedicate to people who really need our immediate assistance.
4.) Submission form:
The purpose of the submission form is to help us get your data into a digital format. In case you forgot to mention anything on your submission form (e.g. banking information), or you made a mistake (e.g. accidentally entered the wrong graduation year), or maybe you just wanted to leave a message explaining your application - please feel free to include notes to your application before you send it off to us. Should you have already sent us your hard copy documents, an email will also help us great deal. We will do our best to amend the information according the information you provided.

You can try. If you are not able to do it - simply make the changes with a pencil on the printed form and add a sticky note and proof with the reasoning why you want to change it.

If you got the money debited from your account - then in that case you can submit any transaction proof you have.
If not submitted, you can pay offline using Gpay and all.

If you have not sent the document yet, I suggest go for coloured photocopies.
I had them done on a very expensive rate still it costed me just 540/- so I guess, it will be fruitful to get it done if you haven't sent.

Transcripts will help a lot. But, I still suggest you to try some hard-work at your university to take out your marksheets. Reason behind, in VISA they can reject anytime.

APS won't send any confirmation email for receiving of the documents. But you will get the future updates.

Don't worry - simply make your payments.
Second - Due to weekends accounts aren't activated.
Third - Upon paying them you can simply take a screenshot of your payment app and send it to them in the envelope as I suggested.
You can pay using UPI / Net Banking and all.
Keep in mind ---- PORTAL DONT GET UPDATED upon payment as well. So, simply pay and arrange all docs and send it to them once your account is activated. Add a note saying - you paid later.

>> You can give mark sheets of the rest of the 5 semesters and along with that bonafide certificate. If you are not in too much a hurry then you can wait for the course to get completed.

Yes. Its fine if IFSC number is not visible and transaction number can be 16 digit. No harm in that.

Hi Sanha, most welcome. We do not require to certify language certificate. Basically, if you don't have - APS won't have issue but VISA office may have issue.
APS simply checks the language certificate if you have else no worries.

Yes you can do that. Even if you haven't submitted, it's fine. You can directly present your IELTS certificate during the VISA Process.

I am not completely sure but if you are providing your details of 1st bachelor's to the German institutes then you should follow the PG check list. If you are showing till 12th only then choose that checklist.
