But then all of this atmosphere is removed when you die and respawn.

You will hate it when you drive perfectly but fucking npc buzzards spray your car with miniguns and give you a repair cost of 20k each time. Let's not forget about cargo griefers too,if you come across them the car will be 100% destroyed.
