They are athletic they are just doing it on purpose to make it fun like suga was literally a basketball player and jin plays tennis and so on
a bit of both, like being athletic doesn't mean you can do all sports, there's not really all that many discipline specific skills that transfer from basketball to football for example 😅

What's funny is, bts seem to be terrible at sports but they are so good at dancing and work out quite a lot. The also seemed to do well when they competed in the ISACs(Idol Star Athletic Championship, basically the Olympics for idols) 😂
Not only in ISACs the are good every were 😊but you may think they are terrible because it is just the funny parts of the gams they play😢

Jimin and Jk both are very athletic, especially Jimin. The man is trained in 4 different types of martial arts Kendo, Geomdo, Taekwondo, Hapkido. He was in soccer club, basketball club, track, does boxing like JK as well and etc, you should react to videos about his athleticis, there's Plenty of them. Suga and Jin are pretty athletic as well, Suga is great in Basketball.
As a newbie(and corean learner), I watch different shows from different bands. I found "going Seventeen" and "TTT" way more realistic and chaotic and it never fails to make 🤣

Honestly, the sports they play in run BTS isn't ordinary. Like in badminton there wasn't racquet, they had pans and other things which obviously make it difficult to play. Some cases, they bad to tie there hamds as duoa and stuff.
So thats why
They literally play with national players or coaches (very professional athletes) like recently, jin posted video of playing tennis so they are good in sports.
