Hey Jacob, when can we get the DMG/MM for this system? Because I REALLY wanna run a Fallout campaign for my play group but I feel like they might not vibe with the official Fallout TTRPG so your system might be my best shot.
So I'm going through this series now and it's the first actual play I've really gotten into in any meaningful way. I really like the dynamics between the actual people who are playing and I feel like they're all able to translate that really well into how their characters interact. I love the talk at the end about convictions because it gives a really good look into how/why the characters act the way they do as well as a good opportunity for the players to get up to speed with how they should use their characters in relation to each others goals. Excellent role-playing honestly, it's something that has kept me from enjoying a lot of actual plays over the years.
In Sara Bella's defense, I also thought they were bartering with their macguffin and was wondering how they were going to handle stranding this guy after flying them to the Hub lol
4:51:48 This is where most of my players (or my characters) would ask the old man if there was anything he needs from the Hub, because they’d be happy to be his purchasing agent if he had stuff he wanted to unload there and supplies he’d like from there. In hopes of setting his place up as a sort of safe house for themselves, but also just to help the old guy out, not like he can get out much to resupply.
43:15 The idea is a little flawed, but not stupid. In Fallout, targeted shots on machines ARE less effective in "killing" a robot than a person. I'd say that Robots have resistance to "damage" from targeted shots, but the effects still apply. The deadly thing that should be applied to this new rule, however, is that if a robot is completely combat disabled, meaning all ways to attack with built-in weapons are disabled such as arms, shoulder cannons, etc., then it should immediately switch into self destruct mode and charge the enemy. Robots are supposed to be tankier to damage in Fallout, because they're sturdy. Headshots do almost nothing to them, and it requires a lot of effort to cripple a limb. Then, even if crippled, they feel nothing so they relentlessly continue to attack, even with both legs severed. However, this single minded tenacity is supposed to be able to be used against them with this method, as simply destroying their weapons makes all robots fearlessly turn to their last resort. I get why everyone was complaining that the system didn't sound good, because doing 0 damage for a more difficult shot sucks, no matter the situation. But those that aren't Fallout veterans wouldn't be aware of the easy tactic to taking down robots in the games.
Just started the campaign a few days ago and I really want to play with these rules. Writing a home brew D&D game and a SWN space adventure and now a Fallout campaign, A GM's life for me 🏴☠️
Ok. I'm just now getting around to watching you guys in May 2024 and now I'm disappointed in the Monster Manual. Where are our big mutated cats ? Joking about the disappointment. I'm getting ready to run a game with a couple friends "I hope" and am really digging the game rules and play videos both. It's been super cool to learn and see the rules evolve as they were being made and tweaked, and of all the fallout hacks and games your ruleset has by far been the most fun for us "I ran a couple combats for them so we could see if the rules were good for us as a group''. But still where are the wasteland cats you promised us? :P
The more episodes I watch the more inspired I am about how I am going to run this system.........Have you ever considered the Scorched from Fallout 76 as an Enemy?
homelessman runs into bar asks for cocktail stick and leaves , 2nd homelessman runs in asks for a 2nd cocktail stick and leaves, 3rd homelessman runs in and asks for a straw,, The barkeep at this point confused asked whats going on??? 3rd one replies" Oh someone has puked up outside and all the Best Bits are gone!! aaand he gone
I'm not gonna lie, this entire time I thought Marshall was Jordan 🤣 I never watch the streams I just listen so I opened this up on my phone and was like 'who the fuck is this guy?'
Weird question about the Hospital scavenging, and I know it's been a year. But wouldn't a sufficient amount of band-aids or equivalent supplies have a degree of adhesive? Or is it presuming that most of it is raw bandages/gauze? I mean it's cool either but I was like "Wouldn't a source of adhesive actually be decently plentiful in a medical facility?"
@@Dr.Feelsbad I meant for a physical release because these guys have been putting heaps of stuff up on Kickstarter recently and this is something I would back.
Agreed wholeheartedly!!! I have been creating my own Fallout New Vegas campaign system since before Morphius released theirs, and I only recently discovered Arcane Arcades streams (I have watched many of Jacob’s videos so not sure why I only recently discovered their actual streams) I feel like I’d prefer Jacob’s system over Morphius’ system…it’s parallel to what I was working on myself.
It's a huge bummer when a campaign with this group revolves around Tyler at all. He speaks so quietly his mic doesn't even pick up his voice most of the time. I don't mean to bash on him because I do like him but I like to watch this passively and I literally can't watch it without cranking the volume up and down between Jacob screaming and Tyler whispering. Makes this extremely inconvenient to watch which is one of just a few requirements I ask from what is supposed to be entertainment. Might have to quit watching because I literally have no idea what is going on when Tylers done talking.
So did I miss something? I went from episode 5 to 6 and there appears to be a time skip. They went from just fighting some supermutants on the highway to being in a hospital?
My only thoughts on the crafting part of the video is i feel like it could be smoother, if everyone had up to date spread sheets and familiarized them selves with it. I feel like that would make it easier to watch. Thats it other wise i enjoy it
Im sure Tyler is a great guy... However he aggeravates the shit out of me. His passive aggresive snippy responses get me heated for the GM. Aditionaly Paige is the most unbalanced ,complainer sterotype for sure... Just my opinion

2024 here watching this because of the Fallout tv series!
Head west young synth, haven't you been told? California's full of whiskey, women and gold.
Yeah but do they have a god damn horse
Theory on hucks want/desire to go west is he found a few western books and read about horses
He, like Nick Valentine, has the memories of somebody from prewar, a cowboy.

Hey, I feel like a hospital in this world might carry a lot of super glue. Don’t know why that part stuck in my head.

That is a good question

We need giant mutated cats!
Billy should've asked for addictol since he takes so many chems...

Shell gas stations have the dirtiest bathrooms !
lol started watching this on may 10th lol
Will you be making a fallout trrp dms guide?
Awwwwwwwhh, “husband”
I’m so much smarter than Jacob.
any chance you can share the spread sheet to everyone that seems really handy for online play
In b4 they remember the vault with the ghoul chick
why not half damage from targeted shots?
so that way it's still gonna ship away at it's thresholds, but not as deadly as if it were a squishy organic
I'm confused, on the patreon all I see is the player handbook, is there a gm book??
No separate book.
You guys are really awesome. In case there was any doubt.
Moh pluz
Billy's alive?!? I thought he had been nuked into tiny, gushie globs last time. Lol!
It would be funny if there was a perk that allowed you to partially disassemble a robot while fighting it

sentry bot doesn't seem to be in Fallout TTRPG v2.0
I thought damage threshold didn't affect stamina points??????
strange idea supermutant magical girls
Will this system eventually go to Kickstarter?
It's on their Patreon for free.

love u guys

guess you missed the end of episode 5. they eventually beat supermutants and arrived to the hospital
My players would try to persuade the old man to give them the vertibird and with their luck they’d probably make off with it one way or another
@ArcaneArcade your playlist for this series is missing Episode 2 Part 2

Five hours?!!? Making up for being gone to Didney huh?
Ghoul Biden XD
6 HOURS!?! I guess that could be feasible without an actual still, but with one it wouldn't take more than 45 minutes, tops
2:57:45 wow, the guy who plays Billy Lettuce (Im new) being heplful and not a dick for once
The metamorphosis of Jacob into a fat lesbian and Spencer into a trans dude is almost complete.
