Great tutorial, really helpful. Thank you.
Glad I stumbled on you're tutorials :) To the point, informative...thank you! As a newbie to gel polish/shellac i'll be looking forward to more :)) Are you on FB as well?
Hi Corri Szucs. Thank you so much :-) Yes, I do have a Facebook page. It's facebook.com/pages/NAKED-for-Nails/275810699197678 and should theoretically be in the description box on all my tutorials, along with my blog and Instagram :-) I will be doing LOTS more tutorials so please stay tuned xxx
Awesome love them. I would love to know where you bought your stamping plates?
Many thanks
Wow!! I wanted foils so bad. Got them and very disappointed. They never would go on perfect then topping them would completely ruin them. So the gel seem to be the trick! And drying the glue I'm the light. I can't wait to try my foils again!!
It works brilliantly. Let me know how you go :-)
Great Video, where did you purchase your stamping set?
hello. beautiful nail art. i was wondering can i put cnd shellac topcoat over a nail art? is it going to keep the nailart intact? i used cnd vinylux 2 colour coats, a stamp with colour a like black and a vinylux weekly topcoat. i waited for it to dry but i just want to keep the nailart for a coupl of weeks. thanks so much greetings from the netherlands
Some videos talk about removing the brown backing, do you have a video showing that being done?
love them hun x
Thank you :-)
Love these. what plates are you using and also what stamper are you using. I have a stamper and it just doesn;t pick the paint up. I've tried it with the Konad paint and it still won't pick it up. Do I need to do something with the stamper. It's a soft one. Thanks for any advice you may have for me.
Thorunn Taylor I have a squishy stamper. If your stamper is not picking up the images you may need to prep the stamper. You do this by lightly filing the top of the stamper and then cleaning it off with alcohol. Then test to see if it picks up the image. If not then repeat the process but do it lightly and evenly. Also, konad dries almost instantly so you have a matter of seconds to get the image from the plate to the stamper.
Thank you so much I will try this and let you know.;-)
what topcoat do you use to keep the foil from crinkling! I love your vids!
hi just a question when i put a top coat on my foils it makes the surface all bumpy and yucky, any suggestions....also when i use my stamper I can NEVER get the design to go fully onto the nail, i usually get half of the design. What could be my problem there. Plz help..........love your video btw.
Elizabeth Flachs Hello :-) What top coat are you using over the foils? Are you using regular polish top coat? Also, with the stamper, what stamper, scraper and polish are you using? Are you stamping on regular polish or gel polish?
I am using a polish top coat and as for the stamper it's a cheapy (pink in colour) that i brought on Ebay..I just use normal polish on them too. Oh btw thanks for your reply to help me with my dilemma..
More foil video please!
User323901 Chavez I shall do. Oh wow I did this video so long ago.
What brand of stamp image plates are you using? Love the video thanks for posting it and sharing
Hi Katy Lambson These are pretty cheap plates I got from Aliexpress. Here's a link (but loads of sellers have these plates. I just searched for xl stamping plates) www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-Shipping-Christmas-Holiday-XL-Medium-Size-Stamping-Image-Konad-Plate-Retail-A-Z-Print-Nail/1318143402.html
Great video. Do u wipe the tacky layer first then apply the glue, then do your foil?
Thanks 😃 Just add the adhesive to the tacky layer. No need to remove it 😀
Ok, thanks
Does this work if you use the gel polish for the stamp design? And do you remove the tacky layer before adding the adhesive ? X
Hi zakandtodd
No, it doesn't work well if you use gel polish for the actual stamping. It looks wishy washy and smudges really easily. You are better off using Konad stamping polish or another brand of stamping polish. I leave the tacky layer on and then add the glue :-)
Eyy.. Good day ma'am...
I'd like to ask if u can show us how to remove the design if I made a mistake on stamping? Coz all I can imagine is that once the acetone touches my nails.. everything goes away.. haha.. ^^"
Also thank u for the awesome vid!
Hi S Rubio are you using regular polish or gel polish?
Dixie Girlxox regular I guess.. any brand.. coz the ones they sell here arent really of the high standard.. ^^"
S Rubio If you're using regular polish and you make a mistake with stamping there's no way to remove it other than removing the entire nail polish and starting again unfortunately.
Oh so if I use the gel one instead then it won't easily go away? C=
Thanks for your reply~ ^_^
So how is the wear on the manicure this way? Since you are sandwiching the adhesive in the gel polish, would the wear be the same as regular nail polish sandwiching cuz I find those last much less than all gel coats only. But since this is an actual adhesive, I'm wondering if it lets the next layer of gel or top coat above the foil around the capped edges grab & hold better than regular polish sandwiching. I so far have only used the sticky layer of the gel to grab my foil but never thought to use the adhesive with the gel polish so this is a great idea.. but I'm hoping it holds up the couple weeks at least as normal. Tfs
Hi Trish Mc I top coat twice with something like this and make sure I am very thorough when sealing with my top coat. I haven't had any issues with it when it's top coated twice :-)
Thanks for your response.. I will definitely try it out soon.. I love coming across great ideas from others who like to experiment like I do. I recently tried a hard colored gel sandwiched in my soak off gels & tho I tried looking up anything I could it seemed as tho no one really tried it or at least thought it wouldn't work well & maybe crack inside but I am still going strong with mine.. they lasted beautifully. I'm about to change my mani today & tho I should've done it last weekend its been 4 weeks & they held up great. Tfs your great tips with us here.
I am so so glad I've found your channel Dixie because your are great, and I am really enjoying watching you and your wonderful designs, and for sure I'll be using some of your idea's in my salon (oops is that ok?) and although this is only the 2nd one I've watched so far they are fab - U - lus. Xv
vicki0145 Awww thank you 😊 yes of course it's ok to use any ideas that you like 😀

Can you use every nail polish on the stamping plate? Or do i need a special polish ?
Some regular polishes work but you can buy polishes called Konad from online. Amazon or ebay have them and they are stamping polishes 😃. If you try regular polishes, old thicker ones work best. Anything that's opaque will probably work 😃
How do you het the top coat to not crinkle the foil? Also if i wanted to foil on top of regular polish what top coat do you recommend? Thank you
Hi Melinda C The foil doesn't wrinkle with the Shellac top coat. Not sure what's in it that doesn't make it wrinkle. I've just switched to another brand of gel polish and it doesn't wrinkle with that either. Have a look at this other video I did with regular polish and the lady I use for supplies is listed in the description bar. She sells worldwide :-) th-cam.com/video/9LUsUB62nmg/w-d-xo.html
What plate is this? N where will I b albe to buy it.
Hi Dixie
I'm super interested in where you purchased your stamping plate from. The link you provided is dead. :-(
Hi Thedivafab go to www.aliexpress.com and search for XL stamping plates and a whole heap of different sellers will come up and they are the A to Z series. It's plate L. This seller has them right now www.aliexpress.com/item/Retail-A-Z-Series-XL-Medium-Size-Stamp-Stamping-Image-Konad-Plate-Print-Nail-Art-Large/880062020.html :-)
They're also dirt cheap and pretty large :-)
Forgot to ask...what's that first XL plate you used?
Corri Szucs I got this plate from www.aliexpress.com
This is just one of the sellers that has the plates and it's plate L

Ah love them!! :)
Thank you Sarah R :-)
Hi Dixie. I'm having real trouble getting the foil to stick to the colour pop. It just won't come off into the nail. Help !!!
Julie Banks can you tell me your steps?
Whenever I apply foils with gel on a natural nail the foil always peels off from the free edge even with two topcoats. What can I do to prevent this?
Hi Anna. Since doing this video I’ve found that you need to leave a very small margin around the perimeter of the nail that doesn’t have foil glue on it so that the topcoat has some colour coat to stick to. It’s especially important at the free edge. It only has to be a millimeter but then the foil is sealed in and it shouldn’t peel. I hope this helps 😊
I just saw a video tonight somewhere that said to prevent this you can use a light layer of builder gel before your topcoat and that helps it last longer without chipping or peeling.
the polish that you use to do the stamp, was shellac polish???
Oh SugarSugar no, it was konad stamping polish.
thanks
Maybe this is one of those "dumb questions", but why did you color polish the nail, top coat and THEN the adhesive and foil? Wouldn't just a base and topcoat - with no color polish - and then the adhesive & foil work? I mean, if the color polish plays no real role in the end product, what's the point of using it?
Collectivo Eclectica it’s so that if the foil doesn’t cover properly, you’ve got a similar colour underneath so it doesn’t look patchy.
Collectivo Eclectica this video is almost 4 years old so now what I would do is the colour coat, cure, remove inhibition layer, adhesive, foil, topcoat
Do you have to use konad polish to stamp or can you stamp with the cnd shellac?
Kerry-Ann Dickinson ideally you need a good stamping polish or a thick and pigmented regular polish. I have seen some people use shellac for stamping but the results are pretty poor at best. It's too funny and looked washed out if you can get an image to work
Dixie Girlxox f.
.
I always have trouble with the foil not sticking to the cuticle area
Beauty By Malinda have you tried the foil adhesive?
question how long did it take you to get your stamping stuffs.
Sheryl Fisher If I order from www.bundlemonster.com it takes about 10 days at most from Hawaii to Australia. It really depends on what plates I am getting from where. Nothing takes longer than three weeks :-)
Where do you get your foil
Hi Beza Norahun. I get some of my foils from www.dollarnailart.com
I get some from eBay searching for nail transfer foil or nail art foil. I also get some of my foil from an Australian seller on eBay who will ship worldwide if you ask her before checkout. She is one of my favourite suppliers.
Here are her details: stores.ebay.com.au/shardeedesigns/
facebook.com/pages/Shardee-nail-shimmers/223743547661941
Kate x can you go straight over shellac? x (sue Hunter)
Hi Colin Hunter (Sue) :-) You can stamp over shellac. So you would do your two colour coats and then if you are a confident stamper, remove the tacky layer of the second colour coat and stamp. If you are not a confident stamper you can add a coat of clearly pink or top coat, remove tacky layer and then stamp. That way if you make a mistake you can easily remove the stamping without removing your colour coat :-)
how long should this service typically take?
Probably an hour and a half at most 😀
May I ask, does the Shellac top coat not pull the konad polish?
Nope, no pulling at all 😀
Fab. I imagined the top coat would make it run or disolve almost. May I also ask where do you buy your plates?
I get my plates from lots of different places. Uber Chic Beauty, Bundle Monster, Pet'la Plates, MoYou London..... If you look at my most recent stamping reviews, all the links are in the description bar below the videos 😀
El esmalte es de gel shellac yes, no?
were did y buy your stamper
It's a $2.50 stamper from eBay. Just search xl marshmallow stamper and you should find one
Thankyou so much x
Hello what's the name of the top coat and foil glue you are using?
Hello. The top coat is CND shellac top coat and the foil adhesive is from www.dollarnailart.com
Ok thanks

I have only just started watching nail art vids on stamping. my friend gave me a Konad stamper as well as 2 colours and some plates. i find it a bit too small and firm. i tried the link you put up for your stamper but it didn't work (probably because it is old) would you be able to post a new link too it if you don't mind!
