- Ok so we have a how to longsword parry the pve in the ice caves in dark and darker video today. Longsword parry is very good with pve in general and that's no different with the new mobs on the ice cave in dark and darker now. Parrying the kobolds and frost skeletons in dark and darker is pretty simple and even the ice giant berserker, ice giant shield, and wendigo are easy enough overall. Though the damn ice giant shield user is a bit of a pain to find something consistent. Definitely think the ices caves might be Ironmace's best map to date, better than crypts even. The amount of quality on the individual modules is insane. Massively good quality on the map they dropped for us this time in Dark and Darker.

Wendigos are not worth parrying imo because their "head" counts as a arm or leg hit their weakspot is the blue heart and 4 thrusts in it with the LS kills them dead.
This was made day one of the map coming out. I still parry them so we don't have to cheese or use too much space. Easy enough to manipulate your riposte position to land a hit or two on the weak spot.
@@oggieson For the life of me I cannot land a riposte on the weakspot I think it's a skill issue. Anyway great vid as always man!
Hi Oggieson, I've had tons of success crouching and backing up slightly and looking straight up as far as the mouse can go to parry the double swing. With his down single swing I find just moving to the side helps dodge it as it's not too consistent but I can catch it sometimes as long as I move outta the way. Much like the Wendigo.

I don't use counter attack when I'm in pdr set up is all.

For the ice guardsman i find easier to hit the shield and parry the shield slam like we usually do with the Champion
Dammit. I spent all this time on the mobs and didn't even realize the guardsman had that attack or I would have included it xD. Definitely works very well

how do you get him to shield slam? I can't figure it out. I can't find a video on the champ skeleton shield slam either.
@@TheCaptainIce the ice guardsman you need to hit the shield with tour melee weapons and it should trigger the slam
As for the champion, the shield slam is the third attack combo

Can you break down the angles of how to catch it?
@@Yharam1066 it’s very similar to how you block normal fists. It starts with their right your left they are going to be close so make sure to distance and look pretty far left then right that’s about all I can do right now still figuring it out myself.
I've only caught the first punch in the fights I've actually gotten with warlocks running this so far. But that's only like 2 fights so not much practice with it lol
@@oggieson that’s fair I’ve only gotten first and second punch after that their too close and had to break away and reset. There are a lot in normals tho, they don’t play if well and just charge at you so good practice if needed
Hi master, I have a question about Skeleton Guardman Elite (red skelly shielder). Is it impossible to parry his overhead swing?
I’ve been aiming up left of his model to parry it lately. Depending on spacing, it works pretty consistently. Think like putting the length of the blade in the parry position down the length of the skeleton’s swing tracer

Map is Amazing, Video is Amazing, New Mobs are Amazing, only thing that isn't amazing is the annoying stuttering in the lobby when moving items.
Mine is finally fixed after two days of slideshow gold swapping lag

Backup and space, fists are very short range so if you get your sword in between you and their head about a foot away they have no choice but to stop attack or hit the parry. Wobble method with head tilted back if they are in your face can also work.
For sure. Though I need to actually get some fights with them lol. They pop demon form and then sit at range shooting me with dark bolt only lol
