I didn't realize that comments were turned off on this video. Until, a listener used the comments section of another video to share his thoughts on this one. I decided to respond to him here, as it directly pertains to this video. His question was, why, after realizing the video contained some foul language, i continued to record the video with my son. My response: Had i known ahead of time, that this song had such language, i wouldn't have even sat down with my son to react to it, in the first place. I did continue, though, because it wasn't language he hasn't heard before. We, as parents, are limit what we sensor from our kids. Language isn't one of them. They are free to explore games, videos, movies.. Whatever they wish. We don't use foul language in our home. So we don't want to hear it from their mouths, either. We also teach them the value of decency in the real world. But, our thought, is that, if they want to find explicit content, they will find it. Our hope, is that, they will do their exploring in the safety of our home, where we can protect them.. Where we can influence their choices.. Where, if ever the time presents itself, we can teach them to be better humans. Because, when i was young, we had a very strict home.. And i ended up leaving the safety of my home to find my fix. And, i got into some fairly precarious situations. Because we are easy going, and allow for open dialog with our kids, they trust us to share some heavy struggles they encounter. The reality of this day and age is, the opportunity for our young ones to be exposed to adult themed content is very easy. Snapchat, discord, Xbox Live, TH-cam, Netflix, anime.. The list goes on. Don't be naive. The world can get ugly. We, as parents, decided to, instead of hiding the ugly, we encourage discussions around it. We want to normalize our kids talking to us about things we'd rather they not keep secrets about.
Well then, you just shouldn't react to Ren, in general, because literally all of his songs contain "foul language" and / or mature themes. It's always one / the other, or both with Ren! Also, FYI, you may have forever ruined the best storytelling song you'll ever hear, by skipping through it like that! I suggest you wait a couple of weeks or until you've forgotten the plot, that is, if you weren't too distracted to actually absorb any off it in the first place, and re-react to it, WITHOUT YOUR SON there!
@@jamesbrogan85 It was a great song..what of it I heard. He's a true artist! I will take your advice and re-react to its full length..without my son. 🙏 But, I have heard many of his songs now, and from what I can tell, he has many without mature themes ..or foul language. Am I wrong?
@@BigSpookyTV Name one! Because the only ones that i can think of, that don't have any swearing in them, are How to Be Me, Seven Sins, Chak Outlines, Troubles, and Children of the Moon, and all of those contain mature themes, lyrically, except for the last one, which is more visually mature... So, if you're planning on reacting to more Ren, with your son, I'd start there and work your way backwards through the list. And the reason I didn't include Money Game Parts 1 and 2 on the list, is because if you watch the first 2 parts, you'll want to watch part 3, which does have both foul language and nature themes! Happy reacting!
@@jamesbrogan85 thank you so much for this. You are challenging me. I feel uncomfortable right now. I can't fake it. I now have to do a deep dive into my deep dive, for you. It's like to until now, i haven't really been paying attention. I talked to my son yesterday, about the one commenter saying i shouldn't have reacted to the tale with him, because of the swearing. He laughed and rolled his eyes. These kids, i tell you. Not as innocent as we hope they are. 😅
It's real unfortunate the algorhythm flipped you onto this one, because of the more mature subject matter (especially Violet's Tale) and this being one of the long musical theatre-style/storytelling productions rather than a more conventional song/track. So your son's attention span remaining for any possible discussion about ugly themes was likely already exhausted. It's actually 3 separate songs but people react to them together because of how the story unfolds in the last part which ties it all together. The construction of it's probably not ideal for pre-teenage to be fair. Happy to help out with a steer on themes in advance if it helps because you've already realized, you never know what you're going to get with Ren, and songs can be anything from
That was as disappointing as you can guess it would be if the most important part of the tale (the part that glues all THREE tales together) was just skipped through ultimately leaving confused watchers wonder if they missed something. It was like leaving a punch line off a joke.
@@badgarlicbreath8183 i was focused on interacting with my son. And, he was losing interest quick. So, i decided to jump to the end so we could discuss what we experienced.
