It's not what you think. This series is about an stage in Iran's past. The guy is symbolic of Iranian intellectualism and mah pishooni(folkoric tale of a beautiful girl that is translated here angel face but means moon brow refering to this girl here; symbol of marxism movement in Iran...the girl in the series dies at the hand of government and the guy becomes a runaway political figure...showing how leftism on Iran died and intellectuals got closer to other groups; (Shahrzaad the other woman symbol of Iran itself)... it's a longer story than this but that's what this song is mourning.
