- Bora Bora is an island group in the Leeward Islands. The Leeward Islands comprise the western part of the Society Islands of French Polynesia, which is an overseas collectivity of the French Republic in the Pacific Ocean. Bora Bora has a total land area of 30.55 km2. The main island, located about 230 kilometres northwest of Papeete, is surrounded by a lagoon and a barrier reef. In the center of the island are the remnants of an extinct volcano, rising to two peaks, Mount Pahia and Mount Otemanu; the highest point is at 727 metres (2,385 feet). Bora Bora is part of the Commune of Bora-Bora, which also includes the atoll of Tūpai. It is located in the so-called Society Islands, which are part of French Polynesia, and is located northwest of Tahiti, about 260 km northwest of Papeete, Tahiti. It also has around it several motus, which are small elongated islets that usually have some width and vegetation. One of the most beautiful and photographed motus in Polynesia is the Tapu motu, especially before a hurricane carried away part of the tongues of sand at its ends. Bora Bora has a tropical monsoon climate. Temperatures are relatively consistent throughout the year, with hot days and warm nights. The dry season lasts from June to October, but there is some precipitation even during those months.

Судя по тому , что в такой красоте настолько мало людей , можно сделать два вывода: это безумно дорогое место, фактически " резервация для богатых туристов". И на самом деле местное население живет в состоянии , близком к нищете, пылая лютой ненавистью к богатым , на их взгляд, бездельникам. А те денежные суммы , которые оставляют туристы. вряд ли доходят до местных общин.Скорее всего делается все возможное , чтобы затруднить контакты туристов и местного населения.

Был в 28 странах-Аргентина, Уругвай, Бразилия, Доминиканская р-ка ,Кения, Танзания ,Мьянма ,Камбоджа 2раза ,Таиланд 3 раза, Вьетнам и пр. и нигде не видел лютой ненависти, хотя гуляли по деревням, кафешкам, массажным салонам, гоняли на байках , играли на биллиарде. Хорошо, что Бора так далека и труднодоступна. А то печальная участь мальдивских\недорогих и и близких\ коралловых рифов незавидна и печальна.

Спросил как-то своего турагента: что лучше -один раз на Бора бора либо пять Таиландов и две Мьянмы ? Хотя, вопрос риторический. Тем и кончилось-Кения ,Танзания, Бразилия, Аргентина. I regret now that I did not fly there, or at least to the Solomon Islands. And the money was free, a couple of million rubles and time. I once asked my travel agent: which is better - once in Bora Bora or five Thailands and two Myanmars? Although, the question is rhetorical. That ended-Kenya, Tanzania, Brazil, Argentina. Uruguay, Dominican Republic, Cambodia, Myanmar and other multiple Turkeys.🐟 🐬🐋
