Vincent Lampert gives his first talk of five at our conference on exorcism January 2020 on the need for and appointment of Exorcists in the Church, the nature of exorcisms, and how to distinguish the natural from the preternatural, and how we should be vigilant against the temptations of the Devil. He basis the talk on the scripture passage "Into Whatever City You Enter" Matt 10:11
These talks are part of a conference by Fr. Vincent Lampert, the exorcist for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, held at the Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center on January 17-19, 2020, on "The Need for Exorcists" in our world that is seeing an increase in demonic activity as our culture becomes less Christian. He explains the role of exorcists in our modern Church and world, how the Church discerns between natural and preternatural activity, how lay people are involved in this battle and how they can protect themselves and help others, how the Virgin Mary helps in this battle and the joy we should have, knowing that Christ has already conquered. He focuses on the need to focus on God and His power and not get fascinated with the Devil.

I'm not sure if your post was for me or not. However, I love your comments nonetheless...
I was born & raised Catholic in the 60's and learned NOTHING about my faith. Communion in the hand, removal of Communion rails, Catholics voting for abortion candidates etc & so on.
However, at the age of 45, I experienced a severe injury, causing me to become bedridden, unable to work & provide for my 4 children, as a single mom receiving NO child support...
Causing severe depression...
This injury turned out to be the GREATEST of ALL gifts bestowed upon me, including my own children.
Because, you can't teach your children what you don't know yourself.
I found a 24/7 Catholic TV channel with this awesome nun Mother Angelica on EWTN.
I watched & watched & watched...cried for hours & days because I had NO IDEA how truly BLESSED that I was to even be Catholic.
I had never held or prayed a Rosary.
But, I developed an enormous DEVOTION to the Holy Rosary and especially to "Our Lady of Fatima"
I went from a very secular girl, with tons of friends, sports car, nice clothes, hair & nails being done etc. To a van with bald tires, rust & in need of a muffler, lol.
I bought no more clothes, no hair or nail salons, no money or income, and my friends one by one stopped calling me because, all I could talk about was Christ & my incredible Catholic faith...
But, then it HAPPENED...AS, MY FAITH CONTINUED TO GROW & MY DEVOTION TO "OUR LADY OF FATIMA" & the HOLY ROSARY went on, MIRACLES STARTED HAPPENING...SO, MUCH SO THAT MY ENTIRE FAMILY CHANGED...THEY WITNESSED THE COUNTLESS MIRACLES...
AND, I MEAN REAL TANGIBLE VERIFIED EVIDENCE...
I'M 60 NOW, AND HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO RETURN TO WORK BECAUSE OF THAT HORRIFIC INJURY, THAT'S CAUSED MUCH PHYSICAL PAIN, SUFFERING & 3 SERIOUS SURGERIES, WHICH I'M NOW IN NEED OF A 4TH.

Thank you for this comment. I am just beginning the series and was drawn to it through finding Father Vincent Lampert in an interview about exorcism. I'm wondering about being led to such information and knowledge and somehow feel unsettled seeking this truth. My Christian faith is growing and I know The Lord is opening my heart and soul to understanding His Truth. I am thankful for His good guidance. My heart feels full of His Love so I will continue.

It's not like God created Roman numerals for there to be a link for us to make. Adding numbers up like this is a form of numerology of course. It's assigning different meanings to different numbers, adding them up and the sum of those numbers has been assigned meaning. Is this a form of numerology?
The Apostle Peter was the first Pope. Why would your Roman numeral calculation here not apply to Peter as well, or do you include all Popes?
I'm sure you could do this with other titles and positions people have. This wouldn't be the only title/ position or way to come up with that as the sum. Does that mean that Satan is someone else too. Obviously we Christians don't believe that there's more than one devil.
So true. I spent years investigating the "illuminati" and all their evil deeds and plans (that are really close to fruition). I got a rush out of connecting the dots when I should have spent time getting to know Jesus.

This talk is great and makes a lot of sense. I love how careful the Church deals with exorcism. I have seen it differently in free churches and it was damaging spiritually putting the emphasis and fascination on evil and demonic activity. Praise to Jesus who is the great deliverer!

Amazing I’ve always listened to this man I pray for wisdom thank you for sharing
I used to be a magician - as in parlor tricks - for the woman who asked the mentalist question - There are some people who are very easy to read, and they are more surprised and easier to "trick" than other people - they make for a better reaction for magic tricks, but I've always had a much higher attention to detail than some of my peers - For example there were times when i did a magic trick for someone and said " I feel like we have a strong connection is your name (their name)" and they'd be really surprised I knew their name, but more often than not the person was literally wearing a name tag and forgot they had one on... Stuff like that.
I knew a lot of other parlor trick magicians, I've never met anyone who actually claimed to have "powers" there were some people who were mediums or psychics who maybe claimed to have such powers, but the vast majority of it is deductive reasoning and then guessing and then getting lucky about 60-70% of the time.
For example if a medium grabs your hand to say read your palm, they are really feeling your hand - for example if you worked construction your hands are probably more rough or callused so they might ask you if you are a construction worker, and then another series of questions - they are all innocent seeming questions to get you to tell them information about yourself. Mose of them are just frauds ripping people off. Even more reason to never go see one. Some of them practice the occult and other dangerous things so you never know what you're opening yourself up to if you take a step in that direction.
But I just wanted to point out the vast majority of these people are very very good at perception and reading people, they don't have any powers even if they claim to, and they can easily find out a lot about you and tell you what you want to hear and take your money.
A fantastic example of this is the more recent movie Nightmare Alley.
This isn't to say none dabble in the occult or satanic worship, but they are fairly rare, the vast majority of the ones doing this kind of thing are of an atheistic mindset or don't hold any beliefs in the preter-natural.

"I thought I had it gone"? The emphasis on "I" there may be one issue. WE do nothing; it's Christ alone. Also it depends on where your mother is with God/Christ Jesus. HER faith, HER will, are crucial.

If they curse him when he walks in with the Eucharist, but don’t when he walks out without it,
What happens if a Kay Person walks in/out with it versus the converse.
How do I know if I’m living my life in a way that’s pleasing to God?
Good question. Generally following the commandments of God, doing His will, is the best way to know how pleasing we are to God. The examination of conscience that Catholics make before going to confession is basically a run-through of the ten commandments and how well we are doing in regard to them. We can then confess our transgressions with some objectivity and thoroughness.

Yeah but is difficult to do. Exorcists are trained to do it as it may be dangerous.
Theres education that has to go into that, including understanding the Spiritual authority structure. It's kind of like going out to save a drowning person because you can't stand to see them suffer but you don't know how to swim yet. You're gonna end up getting pulled in and down.

Sadly, when I asked my parish religious instructor about my Guardian Angel when I was a young adult, she said "We really don't teach that anymore". GLAD to my soul that she was not telling the truth!

The woman I know for some time she told me she sees devil so I told pray 500 time a above prayer she did first day In her dream 3 oclock
in the morning devil open her door fire in his hand drag her out but nothing moved so devil left her.
Another day she were front of secarement pray 1.000 time she saw in her body devil left her.
On the bus line I saw man waitimg

After my sister died I went to her house ( a house exorcism had been done there 20 yrs prior, but it still remained,).
It was the feast of the Epiphany, and I performed the Epiphany blessing over each door, starting from the second floor to the last basement door. During that blessing over the last door, the door began to rattle and shake.
We thank God for priests like Father Lampert who continue to lift up Christianity. Lord we pray that you protect Father Lampert from all things.
certain exorcists say that the new rite of exorcism is less effective than the old rite.
What was the old rite?
The old rite is in Latin. It is said to be more powerful as it is the original language of the Church and one of three Pilates put on the cross. Please double check.

Today im 66 and half crazy.
At night i tirn a you tube on that has 11 hours of rosary and scripture and use ear phone and sleep like that.
I can see how God ran after Father Lambert when he tried to run away. God knew he was going to do an amazing job for the kingdom of God. Thank You father Lambert for all you do! Thank you for these educational videos. God bless you! PRAISE GOD ALMIGHTY!!
Being an exorcist is a difficult and trying vocation. But it must be satisfying to do God's work. And I believe God is satisfied with your work. Don't let the antics of the devil during an exorcism lead you away from performing exorcism. The world needs more exorcism. May God continue to protect you.
I'm not Catholic (protestant: Baptist) yet i can listen to Fr Lampert over and over. He seems like such a kind man, and his voice is so soothing. I wish i could be this calm lol

People at my church can feel God, my mom can feel God. I feel absolutely nothing. When I pray all I feel and hear is radio silence, no matter how quiet my surroundings are and how much I try to concentrate on praying. Is this something that can be cahnged?
I know what you mean, but I'm not sure if God speaks to us so clearly all the time. He came once to me in a dream but had his back turned. I think the faith part is because you pray, but that doesn't mean he responds back how or soon we'd like.
Sometimes, God speaks thru others, the Word and experiences. Keep praying even if you don't "feel" anything. Just talk openly with Him. It doesn't have to be a memorized prayer. Just talk and share your heart with God. Also, read your Bible daily. If it seems too much, start with Proverbs or one Psalm a day. I hope you see this message! (August 2024)

I have an aunt who I believe is involved in evil, not to long ago she came to our house her presence in our house was so heavy and scary. With that visit our family went through turmoil. My parents are now divorced. One day my younger sister ran into her and took a picture of her with her phone. To our surprise there was a horrific face of the devil right above her face. That just confirmed to me that she was truly evil. And many things that happened in our household happened because of her and that one visit. I also saw her once at church but she would not pray or do the sign of the cross. Evil is real no doubt in my mind about that.

There's nothing wrong in crying, it is part of acknowledging our sinfulness and that we have offended God who is pure love. Please don't hesitate in going to church and hearing the word of God and once in a state of grace receiving Him in the Blessed Sacrament. The evil one wants to put doubts in your mind and to fall into temptation. I will keep in you in my prayers, and continue praying the Rosary which is a powerful weapon against the Devil. Every Hail Mary is a blow to his head. Jesus said, come to me those who a weary and I will give you rest, do not be afraid... please keep me posted. Many blessings my brother. 🙏🙏🙏

Everyone interested in Father Lampert should really listen to the end of his presentation for the Q & A session. At about 1:10 : 00 he recounts the statements of a diagnosed schizophrenic, in the presence of Father Lampert and the patient's psychiatrist as to why he (ie. the patient) believes that he is not possessed. It's very elucidating.

Father, I had an exorcism with a military chaplain at 21 yrs old. Was that not real? I didn’t have a mental diagnosis or meds.....until after the exorcism. I went thru six months of no memory, kept locked up in a hospital and sedated. I had bruises and bite marks on my body. My church couldn’t help me. My background is being abused at the age of 1 yrs old.
