No he shouldn't have. Everything he did worked. It was questionable at the time but it paid off and it got him the win. It's a corrupt farce that the judges didn't see it that way.
Some people said it was a boring fight but I enjoyed the way Nick worked him out and then came at him in the second half. Vargas didn't want none of it!
Boxing judging is definitely atrocious - how often one person gets a gift and the other gets heartbreak... How about increasing it to 5 judges?

Boxers are too dumb. Vargas 114-112, even with the bogus knockdowns.
Nick was the aggressor every round he was walking forward not once did he step back.
Giving the 2 knockdowns as well he won that fight by at least 4/5 rounds.
He does need more media attention and i dont know why he doesnt get it. One of my favs

Who were the judges in nick ball vs Vargas
Vargas won the first six rounds. He was busier and landed cleaner punches. Vargas also outworked Ball in the ninth round. That means he won seven of the rounds. Ball won five rounds and scored two knockdowns. That leaves the scores at 113-113. A draw. If anyone disagrees, please explain how Ball won one of the first six rounds or the ninth.
I had round 9 as a draw. So ball 1 point ahead on my card.
9 landed punches from 48 thrown for ball. 9 landed from Vargas who thrown 49 which means his accuracy % was lower than balls but neither was outworked that round it was even for me although ball was the aggressor so I can see why folk would give him the nod in round 9.
Vargas would’ve took round 8 for me but got dropped.

Ive been a massive fan of nick ball for ages but I don't think he won the fight, vargas was peppering him with jabs and vicious body shots all night

That was my fabourite fight of the night, Ball is so entertaining and i felt like he won that fight.
I know the punch stats say that he didn't dominate in terms of power punches, but his power punches that did land were at least 3x more effective.

I watched the fight on youtube minus the 10th round that i couldnt see and scored it a draw.I scored it 105-105.I also scored 10-9 10-9 for the two rounds to Nick Ball for the knockdowns plus three other rounds one round a draw.If i saw the 10th and Ball won that then he should have the WBC title.But Vargas will be no mexican great,thats for sure.

see this is why boxing is a joke. sure mistakes happen in judging just like here but if there is no immediate rematch for this fight then we can all say what we have known for years. boxers duck fights they think they might lose. hence why we never get the fights we want in boxing at the times we want due to bullshit politics and this stupid unspoken rule about maintaining boxers 0 losses. its all a big joke and why the likes of MMA is on the rise compared to boxing since atleast it that sport we see the fights we want usually when we want and when the fighters are in their prime.
for example we have already had trilogy fights between Poirier and Mcgregor both of them are only 35. Max holloway 3 fights with Volk, 2 fights with Aldo, the list is endless on amazing fights in MMA that we get to see at a time when we should see them when fighters are in their prime and not on the slide which is exactly what happens in boxing we only ever see the fights when the boxers are on the decline. just look at Fury Uysk that fight if in MMA would have happened 3 years ago, same goes for AJ Fury.

Vargas won the fight, IMO. And neither of those knockdowns were legit - the second was laughable. Ball is a very dirty fighter and gets away with fouling constantly.
Vargas get hit cleanly both times = Vargas goes down both times = Legitimate knockdowns!! Vargas gets away with falling onto the canvas constantly!! Vargas stunned & on wobbly legs numerous times!
Ball should have won idk what smoke the judges were on. I did only have Ball ahead by two points but the rounds either won were clear and idk how anyone can see otherwise.
