Hey Elyse - bummer news on the College cup. I guess not playing those 4 games really hurt. Do you get another year of eligibility because of Covid? If so have you decided what you want to do yet?
Hey there!! I am a girl and currently a freshman in high school who lives in Canada, my dream is to play D1 soccer at a top school in America. I haven’t played on a club team for 2 years because of travelling and then covid hit, I feel like I missed out on years that could’ve really helped me in this process. Due to covid-19, everything is shut down here, try outs are not allowed to take place and soccer is basically cancelled for who knows how long. I know that a lot of universities start recruiting very early on so I was wondering if there was anything I can do besides practicing and training that will help me when I start the process of emailing coaches. Are there any tips you can give me that will really help me stand out? I am sooo sorry I know this is a lot of questions it’s just corona has messed up everything for me and there’s no one i can contact regarding this, I am scared I am going to miss my opportunity if covid sticks around for a couple more years. Thank you again, I really appreciate it! :)
covid has definitely put a lot of things on hold, i’m so sorry! i, personally, would recommend working on your skills (specific to your position), as well as creating film that shows what you’re capable of. maybe also get in touch with a club coach in your area to see what they think of you/what you can work on individually. you can then email coaches and see if you get a response! i know this isn’t much of a help, but that’s where I would start!
I’m going to D1 JUCO in august and my dream is to make it to D1 for my final two years. I know how hard it was to get where you are now so biggest respects and love from London!
