They can literally put the regular incense back to spawning Pokémon when stationary because of the daily incense. There's ways to balance both incense so it still gives ppl an incentive to walk while also having that option to stay in if they want or need to.
I think the regular incense spawns 1 per 5 minutes stationary

It makes me really sad that a feature meant to reinforce the active movement aspect of this game has become for some a car-centric activity with no destination. Your walking record is dang impressive, and I think it shines brighter than any perfect run that wastes all that energy.

Got an excellent Idea for you Daxi (and anyone else aiming for the 30), go out in a back road and just do your slow drive there cause there will be no other spawns to throw you off as well if you speed is constant than you should be able to get the 30 encounters with little to no issues. I hope this helps.
I might do it near my moms cottage - there is no spawns out there and straight roads

Dang I didn’t realize 30 was that crazy to get lol. I average 26-29 on the daily but it’s just my daily stroll and I have long legs 😂 I’ll try and push myself this week maybe I can hit 30

im pretty sure the best way to maximize daily incense is to hitch a ride in a formula 1 while catching all possible pokemon. this can easily get you 50+ pokemon, i even caught a darkrai once.

I normally toggle my location off then on to refresh it, catch a Pokémon to make sure it’s working, start moving, then while in motion turn the daily incense on. My phone tend to spawn more Pokémon that way, instead of turning the incense on then start walking. Just keep working at it. You will get it.

Ok, so for galarian birds, I’ve found a way to increase their catch rates significantly. There’s a hidden catch multiplier that increases for each ball you throw. This basically means, if you throw 9 intentional miss balls and then g-razz and ultra ball for a great-excellent throw, you have super increased chances. It’s not a 100% chance, but it’s helped me catch two galarian birds of over 1000 cp in a row. Hope this helps!
It has already been proved this is not the case for Galarian catch rate in TheSilphRoad subreddit.

Best I got was 27 once. I only use it between events when the spawns are boring
Run, stop ,run & stop.
You only need to cover some distance to have the next spawn.
If you quick catch you can see when the last spawn disappears and you should have enough distance by then.
It's hard to tell the distance you need to go for the next spawns - so safest is to always keep moving
@PokeDaxi I usually play on an LRT on my way to work. If I time it correctly, I can get up to 27 however, sometimes the train is going too fast, so I miss spawns.

Math is incorrect. It doesn’t take 30 seconds for the first spawn so it’s a lot easier to get 30 than most people think

Popped my daily incense for the first time in a while. Encountered a galarian moltres, thought nothing of it as they always flee. I said to my bf watch this actually catch... 3 ball shakes later shes mine!! Such a hype!!

Haha gotta keep the grind!! I got super lucky and caught a galarian Zapdos and I barely use the incense. I have seen two galarian Articunos but they escaped but finally got my favorite pokemon and my teams pokemon Galrian Zapdos. And I live on long island so was surprised i finally caught and even saw Galarian Zapdos.

I get 26-27 on the city bus once a week, twice if I’m lucky. On good days when the bus keeps at a right speed and doesn’t stop to often.

Don't forget you can use the Quick Catch setup to achieve more spawns by fleeing after the Pokéball shakes three times.
Unlike in the main series games, a Pokémon will not break out after three shakes, so you can save time by skipping the click, the fanfare and the Pokémon status screen.
Indeed - this doesn't really help with a perfect run though cause you have 30 seconds to catch it which is plenty doing manual catch
Honestly, this might be possible without a car, but you need to find a road that is just a straight line (no corners or anything) and every time you get a spawn and catch it, sprint a little until the next spawn. I might try it, but I need to get super lucky to get it done.

@ I've done it twice from what I remember. I didn't realize it was that big of a deal so I didn't screenshot or record it. :/
@ I've done the daily incenses almost every day since release (Still never caught one of the birds though). Here's the things I did when trying to beat my record.
I have a route I use that allows me to continually go straight without stops or turns (There's one light so I have to get lucky there). I would jog the whole time even while catching the Pokemon. I would start the incense while jogging after going straight for a bit to "calibrate" Pokemon Go's expectations. I wouldn't use berries except for Golden Raz Berries and only if I thought I wouldn't catch it on 1st throw. Ultra balls only. I would regularly get 27-29 and on the occasional days I'd get less than that I could point out exactly why like I had 5 pokemon that took 2 attempts etc (or was out of Ultra balls. Common problem for me. No Ultraballs would regualrly take my catch count down by 1-3 catches).
Certain events make this impossible to get high scores on. Like when all the fighting types were running amok. Some event spawns made it easier. Had I been playing on the April fools pidgey day that would of been a prime time to try to hit 30 catches. I've stopped playing as much due to the raid pass changes so I have not been doing my daily incense attempts anymore though. Hope any of this helps you.

It was a bit sus when there were pokemon in costume form, but you still fooled me.
I caught the 1st galarian articuno i encountered, it was 2nd galarian bird i ever encountered, i currently have 2 galarian articuno and I'm trying to get other galarian birds too, hopefully I'll catch some soon.
@JustAKyogre oh i found one today but it ran away , i always try to hit great with the birds since hitting excellent is harder , and use a raspberry.

Pokedaxi you are missed one important point, you must caught 30th pokemon before daily incense time up otherwise it won't show in the pop up diagram even though you already successfully caught the 30th but you caught after the 15 minutes daily incense countdown.

There is definitely something other than just distance traveled and 30 seconds.
I've started incenses and had 0 spawns in the first minute and a half. - Other times I've started an incense and had one spawn immediately.
Also, the highest I've had is 28... but I caught 29, as it doesn't count if you threw the ball after the incense timer ends.
I think you are encountering a internet/ game error - sometimes I get it like that it just has an issue loading spawns
It is harder on the event when the daily incense last for 30 min

I don’t have a car but I have a skateboard and I tend to get 30 going down a straight road, it is possible without a car. It’s not too hard if you have a bike or electric scooter with a phone mount… just don’t crash
So . . . the most efficient way to use Daily Incense is not to WALK but to DRIVE! Lol. Another Niantic fail. :) Good luck with this challenge. I know you'll get it someday. :)
I really liked this video! I think my highest was 24. But 6 were pikipeks, 3 weedles a sparrow nothing great. I got really lucky once and encountered 2 molt res on one incense and I didn’t catch either one but I was so happy to have some cool spawns! Believe in yourself! You’ll get it!

I played every night of my cruise and got between 25 and 28 each time. The speed was perfect to just sit there and catch :)
