I am one of those people that loves watching your videos because in them you take me to places that are inaccessible to me due to disability, and I thank you very much for that. There are so many wonderful locations in this country for photography and I applaud the fact that you stay in this country and share your passion with us, rather than jetting off to some foreign location all of the time. Stunning images once again.

Hey Henry, around 12:00 mark you mentioned "...what a hobby..." Actually, it's no hobby for you, it's your Calling! Your compassion for others and incredible enthusiasm, that never ceases, is what separates you from everyone else. Great Advent videos and you've opened a Pandora's Box with your dailies. None of us want you to go back!🎉😂❤

You do a lot of good for a lot of people, many of whom you may never hear from. That you take the time to create these videos, sharing your passion for these wonderful places, bringing folks along with you, is a blessing for many you may never be aware of. There is value in your efforts. I for one appreciate what you do with this channel. Cheers, Henry.

As an older chap (71) in Australia I watch your TH-cam’s religiously hoping one day to walk up a small Wainwright or a trip to Scotland in the next year or so. My 24-200mm is also glued to my Z6. Although I broke it on my 1st day in Iceland this year, leaving me with only my 14-30 mm. Stay well and keep pumping out your adventures. Cheers!

Henry we live in the Cotswolds but I still hanker for the fells. Our two golden retrievers took us up and down many fells in the past but sadly are no longer with us so travelling up to Hartsop just isn't the same anymore. So grateful that you've found a small pocket in your rucksack for us to hitch a ride in.👍👍👍

Yes, I'm one of those old-timers at 71, I can't do the hills these days but I never miss one of your videos Henry.
They take me back to when I walked all around those fells and the memories come flooding back. Eskdale remains my favourite base for exploring.
My favourite lens is the Olympus 40-150mm F2,8, it's hardly ever off my OM1 Mk2, so versatile and awesome quality.

Hi Henry. As I live in NZ I also love your adventures into the UK hills as we are generally unable to do that here due to the land being privately owned and therefore we don't usually have any right of way unfortunately. One day I will get back to the UK and visit some of your favourite spots. Keep up the sterling work.

I haven't checked your page, but if you haven't yet, what about a day, sunrise and sunset around Tarn Hows! Being a "Yank" who's yet to visit the Lake District, I'm only visiting with you and a few others and google earth, but it looks like a nice spot for some woodland photography.

That rainbow looks like what I've always heard called a "sun dog". It's a chromatic rainbow-like display that shows up 22.5 (or more rarely, 45) degrees from the sun, usually from either water vapor or ice crystals in the atmosphere. Beautiful conditions!

Hello Henry, well I'm approaching 71, still getting into the hills when I can, I might be a bit slower these days, but I have no intention to stop.
I had a 24-200 Z lens and I loved it, I sold it with my Z5, and instantly regretted it, and I have missed it ever since. I think that I will probably sell my 24-70, and get another 24-200. sometimes we just do stupid things don't we?!
Great video, thanks. I've never done Holme Fell, but now it has been added to my list for my next trip.

Thank you for sharing another great adventure and your stunning photographs. I love exploring places I will probably never see through your videos and your enthusiasm and beautiful photography always inspires me to get out with my camera. I have long since been a Pentax shooter (started in film days and just stuck with it because I can still use my beautiful prime lenses). My favourite lens has become my 18-270mm lens because of the flexibility and versatility it gives me without carrying lots of gear. It’s my travel lens and hiking lens and gives me really sharp results as I have printed many of my photos on canvas, one being 22”x44” with excellent results. Thanks again - loving your advent series!

Currently my most used zoom lens is my canon 24 - 105 rf but I also love my 24mm tilt shift. I wish Canon would do a weather sealed version of their 24-240mm rf as that would definitely change my set up for sure. Great selection of images Henry, the light was stunning

I couldn’t agree more! Nikon did a proper job with their 24-200. Canon could have charged $150 more and gave us a proper 24-200 with weather sealing. Kinda stupid.

Good video, you are absolutely spot on. I was a little skeptical when I bought this lens, but it didn't take long to fall in love with it for outdoor photography. I also have the 14-30 which is just as impressive. Both are great for well-lit landscapes. With my Z7 I'm able to travel light. At my age that's really important. Can't wait to get back out west to the Grand Canyon and the Rockies.

Bravo & Cheers Henry! Your enthusiasm makes it such a pleasure to watch you. That there are numerous comments referring to the pleasure many take in being able to go with you when they are unable to themselves is testament to your generosity. I've recently upgraded my equipment and as much as I appreciate my two 24-70 lenses the Z and F mounts, I'm also LOVING my 24-200 and my 14-30 Zeds! Presently I'm using my converted D800E for infrared and putting up an exhibition of IR in the coming months, as well as my D850 because I have so much F mount glass or I'd be only using mirrorless Z series stuff. Sorry about your little accident with your Olympus, but she'll be up and running again soon! I'm a Nikon man since the mid 70's so that wasn't easy for me to say about Olympus, I hope you know. Seriously, it's not about the equipment it's what you do with it.

Hi Henry, that Vertical Rainbow I know as a parahelia. It’s form by ice crystals in cirrus clouds, they act as prisms bending the light rays through them, but as they fall they become vertically aligned hence the rainbow pillar. All the best, keep up the good work 👍

Nice shots, thank you for sharing. I’m in the Canon APS-C camp, so the 18-150 won me over and that’s what I carry most of the time. Weight, versatility and for my use case more than good quality makes me enjoy going out. I think, these small „superzooms“ got so much better than my 10yr old 18-200 and I even enjoyed that one back in the days.

Henry, thank you so much for recognizing and understanding, that, for some of us, for whatever reason, are not able to get out to experience what you are experiencing and providing for us in your videos. I have more than once stated to write a comment and thank you “for being our legs and feet” on your treks. Your passion and compassion is contagious, to say the least. At 71, and still a “newbie rookie” with a D3500 and a Tamron 18-270mm which I tend to favor over the 2 kit lenses. Continue doing what you do best and keep taking us places that I won’t be able to see for myself. Bless you.

The only other lens in the bag at the minute is the z 16-30. I am however considering the 100-400 to try and punch into the landscape a little more but weight is a consideration for me though since having spinal fusion.

my most used lens? my RF 100 to 500mm by far, but then thats for wildlife, the lens i love the most right now is my OM systems 40 to 150mm with my unbroken OM-5! love your videos Henry, and one a day is a real top draw treat!

My 12-100mm Olympus lens covers the same equivalent range and is my ‘go to’ lens….❤

I still get excited every time you open your camera bag, Henry - sad really, as I'm normally about four hours drive away from your location.

Another amazing video. Wind, like any other natural thing, can add or take away from our experience but also open up some really neat aspects. Doing IR shots, in the wind with the clouds, is perfect with wind blowing, and a little less dramatic when it is still. As someone who is "to old" physically, I thoroughly enjoy your adventures, and look forward to every shot and video.
Thanks again for all you do,

A little afterthought, like you, I enjoy Nikon cameras and lenses. I use the 24-200mm lens for just about everything I shoot. I just bought the OM-5 because of how you talked about it and I am looking forward to using the similar lens on that camera as well.

Loving this Advent series Henry, look forward to viewing each one every evening. Only have kit lenses (nothing special) but they range from 18mm - 300mm and cover most of my needs at the moment, saving up for a 600mm to do more wildlife in the future. I’m fortunate enough to be able to access places that others are not and sharing images gives me as much pleasure as taking them, as you say it transports people to places they would love to go but can’t due to personal issues. Beautiful images Henry, the light was stunning and I get just as excited when I witness such conditions 🤪

Thanks Henry for this advent adventure, yesterday’s one in Scotland was especially good, my wife isn’t into photography as much as me, but your videos are certainly inspiring us to visit your home county and Scotland. ( I hope the Tourist boards notice you and your channel, and pay you what you deserve🤣🤣👍👍)
The tec bit, what focus points and exposure area do you use, I have the D7500 and mostly use my 18-300, it’s probably not the sharpest, but I don’t specialise in any one thing, I just carry the camera around and take anything that looks good, it’s good as an all round lens, for me.
Thanks again for your fantastic channel. Happy Christmas to you, and all your followers. 🎄🎄

Nice one Henry, slow down you will get burn out! My favourite all time lens, that's easy it was a 50mm 1.2 nikkor in my film days it was the only lens I had, the know alls called it a scallop lens...if you get a chance can you say a few words about high ISOs and expensive tripods that are useless when it's windy....take care...

Thanks for another great video Henry, you continually inspire me to get out and improve my photography. My favourite lens is the Pentax 16-85mm wr on the Pentax K3. Versatile and sharp, I use it for about 80% of my landscape photography.

My fave lens is my Nikkor AF 24-120mm F3.5-5.6 D. It's not the best lens in the AF-D series, but it does the job for me. ❤

Another great video Henry love your enthusiasm. I'm using the Nikkor AF-S 18-300mm and for my wide Angle shots I have the Sigma 10-20mm used with your old beast the Nikon D7200.
