Omg I'm obsessed with the fashion-categories! It's so impressive how many different projects you're worked on! The covers were all so pretty

Oooh thank you Marta! I'm so excited to work on the TTR book, mostly because it takes place in like 2014 and I don't have to world build a fantasy setting 😅

Adored this video and I adore this idea! Might just have to steal from you stealing from Katie. Blown away by how many stories you have under your belt. Also your sweater looks so cozy 🥰

thank you, my dear!! and yes please do steal from me stealing from Katie lol! I would love to see a first lines video from you 🥰 you have such an amazing collection already just from chocolate short stories!

Okay first of all, I love your sweater, it is so cute and looks very comfy. These tiers are so perfectly described with the early 2000s fashion trends, I'm obsessed. I was not expecting one of your stories to be named Hawthorne because that's the name of the town I grew up in lol. Your program didn't allow genre fiction? That's so weird to me. All of the professors in my college program had vastly different interests and skills in terms of genre and their courses really showed that. This was such a fun video and I bet it was insightful for you to look back on your stories like this! I don't think I have a favorite first line of mine, I'd have to go back and reread my stuff to figure that out.

Aw thank you Danni!🧡🧡 I'm so glad you liked the tiers, heehee🤪 and I know, it was very odd. We could submit chapters of genre pieces to workshop, but it was frowned upon and you would have to make sure it could "stand alone", which makes no sense to me now. Why are we pretending novels don't exist, and shouldn't we learn how to write good chapters? lol. Thank you for watching ❤

Suddenly feeling the urge to actually WRITE some possible first lines for my Camp Nano project. I've spent the last three days trying to figure out where I need my story to start (I'm struggling to even generate a _good_ outline at this point...🙄)

I know the feeling!! But I'm glad that inspiration might be striking for you now after feeling stuck. I've heard some writers say they like to first write the catalyst/point of no return, and then work backwards to figure out where to start. I've never tried it, but it intrigues me!

I ❤ this idea. I mean, I could never do it with my own writing 😳but I love learning about others' first lines. Also, I can't believe everything has a title. That's the last thing for me, LOL. How would your tier look for final lines? Are you better at wrapping up the story than beginning it?

    • @AnnaRobbinsWrites
      @AnnaRobbinsWrites  2 ปีที่แล้ว

ooh yes, it definitely took some bravery even just to look back at the old stuff haha! And I mean, titles are usually whatever I slapped on the word document at the time😆
and oooh that idea about last lines is interesting! I honestly have no idea how it would shake out! Like most writers, I've started quite a lot more things than I've finished 😅

This is my favorite video you have made! It really shows your honesty, creativity and sense of humor.
The categories you made were fantastic. Whatever happened to swoosh hair? Like you, I was a big fan.
I am so glad "Good Luck Ted" was discussed in this video!
I appreciate the honesty with which you describe your BFA program's strong points and limitations. I am glad you found a community of honest and supportive Beta readers, but I can see how the "indoctrination" of writing "non-genre" pieces could be both limiting and frustrating.
I am intrigued by the premise of "Marigold" and I am curious if you will ever return to it.
I am already looking forward to watching your next video. ❤

Aw thank you so much my friend!!! You are the absolute sweetest 🧡🧡 and yes, I think I do eventually want to find a home for Marigold!

Swoosh hair was top tier. The only thing tier I am questioning is flare jeans. Do you not remember walking them through the rain and snow 😳
I loved the Alex Ryder books! Ugh, what a time!
I love love loved this! But I need to know which ones, if any you'll be returning too? Because a quite few of these first lines I would continue reading. I need to know more. I also love how two of your first lines had sticky in them. Young Anna loved writing about humidity

Lol I miiiiight keep trying to publish Marigold. I really loved it. But I think the other ones are probably not getting picked up again 😅 but thank you so much, that is so nice!!
