Really good episode Dire, I liked the screen switch to show the nifty program and the instructional take you had on what is a pretty overwhelming mod at first glance, good job
I would love to see you do the molten salt reactor, there’s a degree of complexity that isn’t annoying, just makes it some actually interesting power generation to build.
Dire last episode you talked about a tree farm. I added bonsai to my pack that way i could automate pams and get wood. Also fish and fries make fish and chips. With bonsai you can have a stack of them anytime you need and paper and string.
You can get it to automatically shut off when power is at a certain point. Attach a redstone comparitor to the controller, it will output a redstone signal depending on the power % when the reactor is heat negative and any redstone signal that goes into a block next to the controller will shut it off. Heat positive reactors will output a redstone signal depending on how much heat is in the reactor.
Dire, it's setting in mod options, you can disable it, so that when you break drawer it drops content, but it looks like here it's set to not drop when you break drawer
For my playthrough I turned off the overheating and explosion so I get infinite energy without the hassle. My reactors are just full of reactor cells so they produce massive power
@@joshuahellfire3287 Isen't That almost to easy then? ^^ (Just my opinion) But we all have different ways of playing, and as long as we have fun doing it that's all that matters ^^
Its the fission ignition, hot and fresh out the kitchen, momma rolling that body, got evr’y mans intuition, sipin on coke and rum, i’m like so what I’m drunk it’s the freakin weekend baby i’m ‘bout to have me some fun.
@direwolf20 Do you know how to easily move items from Refined storage over to a AE2 system? Been looking online and all i can find are pretty tedious ways of doing it. Having to use exporters into a chest is tedious because I have to manually input all the items that will get exported to the chest. Thanks!
Personally I would make a separate storage system for all my resources and connect each system to it with a Storage Bus and an External Storage so that they both have share access It may be possible to just export from one disk drive directly to the other, however.
Controlling power at the capacitor bank means your power monitor could run out and not be running to switch the reactor on. Not a big deal, just something to watch out for.
How about a bigger power storage for your reactor, so there always will be enough emergency capacity no matter how powerfull your reactors are? They could slowly trickle in power, filling up the large emergency capacitor, while you do your usual stuff at your main base and once you flip a switch and use up most of your main capacity, you would have enough reserves saved up already.
Dark steel shears have a high durability and can be empowered (as well as enchanted). Once fully charged it's unlikely you'd ever have to replace/repair them (unless you need a few thousand advanced filters for some reason...)
If you're concerned about radiation and stuff, can't you just place your reactor and uranium processing into a Compact Machine dimension and just transfer everything in and out with wireless stuff? Also saves space
Compact Machines isn't actually in FTB Revelations, most likely due to server performance concerns. (In fact, no dimension-creation mods are in the pack, not even RFTools Dimensions.) He could just add it, but I think he's trying to avoid that too much. Also, he's specifically stated that he *does* want to play with the radiation mechanic, because he thinks it's interesting. If he didn't, he would turn it off in the config.
For the igniter you are using, you do not need ANY kind of redstone circuits. It is completely indepentent and can keep the block ignited, thus the "keep ignited" option
@Direwolf20 so quick question, u like speedy processing machines and in this series, u r trying to do things in a different manner so y didnt u try going w industrial fore machines instead of thermal machines? 🤔 I mean with enough speed upgrades (and power) every industrial fore machine can seem like it's being tick accelerated; also it's a different way to go about things..just wondering ^_^
are u sure that is not Nuclearcraft ? industrial forgoing has a max of 4 upgrades (and it stops being truly meaningful after 2 energy upgrades, becuase its energy per cycle not rf/t thats the determinant )

You seem to define "superior" only as "more powerful". I find NuclearCraft with all its details superior in entertainment value. I wouldn't watch a series that just tried to power up as fast as possible to fill a huge draconic orb with techniques I've seen before, even seen before in Dire's series. I usually stop watching series when they start the rf/draco grind. I find this to be his most interesting series in a long time. I get the same on our servers, old players try to build new/interesting/pretty stuff without touching overused or BIS-mods, just to see if they can. The new players all go for the powercreep of gas+environmental tech+draconic because they've read on reddit it's the fastest way to "win" the game.
That's boring af though, nuclearcraft is a lot of fun to play with, it's like a puzzle to find good combinations of coolers. Besides, this was no more complicated than setting up the system you wanted, and can be magnitudes more powerful when he gets further into the mod. This setup was literally the easiest setup you can do lol.
