@@starsecream Well when you look at Keanu skillset in the original Matrix to Reloaded, you would be surprised to Keanu improve to that high level of speed and technical ability in some of those fight scenes.
Also the risk of a mistake or error by the real actor would be too high.

Brandon was the first choice of the directors for the role of "Neo" also. So crazy all these parallels.
Actually, he wasn’t a part of filming the Crow when Brandon was alive. They reached out to him to double for the unfinished scenes. He confirmed in his Art of Action episode

And his John Wick Co-director, David Leitch, was a competitive Kickboxing fighter.

Not only did this dude go on to direct Keanu with _John Wick,_ but they brought him back to play Trinity's fake husband in _The Matrix Resurrections._ Whatever your thoughts were on that movie, even you guys gotta admit- that was a nice tribute.
I loved Resurrections even more for that addition,it felt like a nice acknowledgement/tribute to all the hard work the crew gave for the Matrix trilogy.
Hell they had James McTeique show up as an earlier version of Thomas Anderson with his wife playing Tiffany (the reflection of Trinity)

This guy is the director of all John Wick movies. It was probably the relationship he has with Keanu Reeves that cemented the John Wick idea.
This guy has some of the best quotes I ever heard.
"If I'm the smartest guy in the room, I'm in the wrong room."
"I guess I have kind of a type. Pretty much anybody who shows up in a black leather overcoat, I've doubled for them."

His humble nature is very similar to Keanu's outlook on life. That's why they're good friends and can work so well together
They had the script before they decided on Keanu. They were thinking of someone older like Clint Eastwood but knew he wouldn’t be able to move like that and the lightbulb went off for Keanu.

NOPE! I was under the impression Keanu put in the work and did all of his stunts. I'm deleting everything Matrix from my memory.
No one in Hollywood does their own stunts. I don't think anyone does anywhere anymore. A lot of what you see in the "John Wick" films is Keanu but he hasn't been doing Tae Kwon Do for decades like Stahelski.
