In this episode of 4THECRAFT you can see how to make a VOLCANO night light/ lamp from epoxy resin and clay.
The lamp displays a Volcano Eruption DIORAMA with Lava and Smoke. The light shines from inside the Volcano. The smoke cloud was made from epoxy resin with white colour. The base is made from wood. The LED LIGHT operates with 3 x 1,5V batteries AAA.
It is a very nice light with warm red color which also projects colors/waves on the bedroom ceiling. I hope you will enjoy this video.

Almost a month
I usually dont like the air bubbles on resin projects, I know some ppl pop them with blow torch or even put them on a vacum chamber. But on this project the bubbles gave a nice touch. Your project looks amazing, really really nice, Great job!
The cool thing about resin is that even when you don't want air bubbles, sometimes it makes things look cooler anyway. Like the air bubbles around the mountain look a lot like debris, not air bubbles.

Ох ты конечно гений с вакуумированием, вот только эти пузырки это типа пепел от вулкана и выглядят они очень сочно.
А сама епоксидка невероятно прозрачная и качественно отлита, он её не перегрел и все правильно сделал даже когда "доливал" дым так что скорее всего не первый раз делает и твой совет ему не упёрся.

looks nice. Note: if you warm up epoxy for about 10-15 minutes to 80°C, resin becomes more liquid and you will not have air bubbles... curing time is also shortened by half at least.
Nice, however a cylindrical (round) or spherical shape would work better to demonstrate the volcano and not distort the light. Cool!

Where's your current driver for that LED? hooking up straight to the batteries can fry that LED after a while. Cool project though, turned out really nice. Always great seeing people take simple things and make something wonderful from them, good job.

Yeah I would really like that too. I use other channels with great restoration videos just with the workshop sounds and no music and it’s like mental medicine for relaxing - way more effective than meditation :-)
You have to paint the hole chamber inside a bit dark gray before you fill it. The chamber for the smoke! 🙂✌

Very cool looking diorama.
You need to either vibrate or vacuum the resin before pouring. also you can use the pour on a stick trick to get rid of airbubbles. all this wonderful handwork get ruined by the airbubbles.. there is also what is called a gasout chemical that the manufacturer can provide.
also as a safety warning never use power tools towards yourself. (you were cutting the base while holding between your fingers) we would not want to see hurt yourself.

I didn't mind the bubbles in the Volcano because since I am displaying an eruption the bubbles could be small rocks etc. However in other projects (eg the lighthouse) I have tried to avoid the air bubbles but still some have appeared.

It would be quite expensive. Also I would need to pure the resin in layers and some lines could be visible. Tell me the exact size in cm and I will try to be more specific. Thank you for your comment 👍

Thank you. I think inserting epoxy with a syringe whilst the resin is still not cured is a very difficult to control procedure. Maybe one should try it first in a smaller scale before use it in a project.
@@4THECRAFT Yep, also difficult to time as I guess doing it too early will simply end up in your whole colored epoxy dissolving in the clear one, though it is still worth a try. In some old movie they used to drop painted liquid in a clear one to create natural-looking nukes (as the turbulence affecting the drop used to end up in a really neat mushroom cloud), wonder if it can be arranged to settle down before the liquids completely mix so could be done for making epoxy 'explosions' as well.
